For millions of Americans every day is a balancing act, managing careers raising kids and caring for aging parents simultaneously. This month, one company wants to celebrate the joy that can be found in that journey. Comfort Keepers , a leading provider of in-home care for seniors and adults in need of assistance, is celebrating their eighth annual 'National Day of Joy' June 24. It takes place each year on the last Wednesday of June and was established to encourage and inspire individuals to find joy in the everyday moments. This year's National Day of Joy comes with new research, a survey of 2000 Americans in what's known as the 'sandwich generation' adults who are simultaneously raising children and caring for aging parents with 96% saying family is the most important thing in their lives. They are carrying significant responsibility while helping their loved ones age safely, comfortably, and with dignity. The survey set out to explore not just the struggles of caregiving but the joy that comes with it as well with 92% saying it brings both joy and emotional strain, yet 73% wouldn't choose to take on less responsibility. For families, joy is rarely about grand gestures. It's found in simple conversations, sharing meals, helping with daily routines, laughing together, and being present for one another. Family caregivers are doing extraordinary work, but greater access to respite care and in-home support could create a healthier balance for the entire family with 69% saying they need more support when caring for an aging parent, and 85% agree that it would make a meaningful, positive difference. In-home care and respite care can help caregivers protect their own health, give them time to recharge, maintain careers, care for children, and preserve their own well-being, while continuing to care for others. This is where Comfort Keepers can help. Focus isn't just on managing the challenges that come with aging, it's about celebrating the meaningful moments that connect generations, helping older adults stay engaged, independent, and connected to the people and experiences that bring them joy. 00:05Comfort Keepers, a leading provider of in-home care for seniors and adults in need of assistance,
00:11is celebrating their eighth annual National Day of Joy this month. It takes place each year on the
00:17last Wednesday of June and was established to encourage and inspire individuals to find joy
00:23in the everyday moments. The theme this year is Joy Between Generations, which I think is fantastic
00:29because we are definitely a multi-generational society, we found that finding joy is important
00:37for maintaining physical and mental health, as well as improving overall well-being. We established
00:43the National Day of Joy eight years ago as a holiday to deliver joy, positivity, and elevate the human
00:51spirit. This year, National Day of Joy comes with new research, a survey of 2,000 Americans in what's
00:58known as the Sandwich Generation, adults who are simultaneously raising children and caring for
01:05aging parents. 96% say family is the most important thing in their lives. There is something so beautiful
01:12about having grandparents and grandchildren come together. What we see is that grandparents start
01:18to feel a better sense of relevancy and interaction with their grandkids, and that's why it is so
01:24important to celebrate things like the National Day of Joy that Comfort Keepers has created. Because
01:30for the Sandwich Generation, there are beautiful, wonderful memories to be developed with both our
01:36children as well as our older parents. The survey set out to explore not just the struggles of caregiving,
01:43but the joy that comes with it as well. 92% say it brings both joy and emotional strain,
01:49yet 73% wouldn't choose to take on less responsibility. Joy is found in not huge grand
01:56gestures, but sometimes the everyday moments, such as a shared meal, a conversation, listening to music
02:03together, things that bring the generations closer together and help create new lasting memories.
02:1069% though say they need more support when caring for an aging parent, and 85% agree that greater
02:16access
02:17in home care would make a meaningful positive difference. One of the great things about bringing
02:22in a home care professional like Comfort Keepers is that certainly it's going to help us take care of
02:29our older loved one, but at the same time we also get some help as well, which is just as
02:35crucial. So really two
02:36lives are benefiting from having that extra support, that extra help. It really gives us more of those
02:43precious moments while also helping us with taking care of ourselves. For more information or to
02:49participate in the National Day of Joy, they encourage you to visit comfortkeepers.com
