Robots and a model Eiffel Tower: Macron and Modi visit Paris tech conference

French President Emmanuel Macron visited the VivaTech fair in Paris on Thursday (June 18) with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. For its 10th year, the innovation event has hosted Amazon founder Jeff Bezos as well as French entrepreneurs including LVMH boss Bernard Arnault. Before the Paris fair, Modi and Macron visited an Indian tech event in Nice on Sunday (June 14) where the French leader praised the dynamism of the Indian tech industry and called the country a leader in innovation. France and India have strengthened ties in recent years, particularly in defence, space and technology, as both countries seek closer strategic partnership.
