00:00The United States and Iran on Wednesday released a text of an interim agreement their president signed to end the
00:06war.
00:07The 14-point agreement extends the ceasefire first announced in April by another 60 days,
00:13giving both sides time to negotiate a permanent truce.
00:17Speaking at the G7 summit in France, U.S. President Donald Trump warned he would resume military action if Iran
00:24fails to honor its commitments.
00:26If they don't honor the agreement, or some things aren't even mentioned in the agreement, it's a memorandum of understanding,
00:32but we have an understanding of certain things without writing it.
00:36And if they don't honor that, we'll probably go back to bombing them until they honor it, you know?
00:43It's amazing what bombs can do.
00:44Trump also softened his stance on Iran's missile program,
00:48saying it would be unfair to deny Tehran ballistic missiles after previously vowing to destroy them.
00:54The deal lays out major steps.
00:56Both sides will end hostilities across the region, including in Lebanon,
01:01and resume maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz with no charge.
01:05The United States will lift sanctions, unfreeze Iranian assets, and support a $300 billion reconstruction fund.
01:13Iran, meanwhile, will commit not to build nuclear weapons,
01:16and agrees to on-site downblending of its enriched uranium stockpile
01:21under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
01:25World leaders at the G7 summit welcomed the agreement and called for a full ceasefire in Lebanon.
01:31Israel, which did not take part in the negotiations, says it still reserves the right to act militarily.
01:37Trump on Wednesday urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to scale back strikes in Lebanon.
01:43And in all fairness to Bibi Netanyahu, who happens to be a good man, gets a little excited sometimes.
01:49We have a little dispute over Lebanon.
01:51I say you can do a little softer touch, Bibi.
01:54You don't have to knock down a building every time somebody walks into it that's from Hezbollah.
01:59Meanwhile, Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters continued exchanging fire,
02:03including airstrikes and drone attacks in southern Lebanon.
02:07Oil prices dipped and Asian stocks held steady on Thursday.
02:10As investors weighed the interim U.S.-Iran deal.
02:14Though uncertainty in the region kept markets cautious.
