00:00Let's hear it for New York. On Saturday night, the Knicks won their first NBA championship in 53
00:06years, bringing 10 days' worth of action-packed games to a thrilling, triumphant close. And while
00:12we could hardly tear our eyes off the court, there was also some pretty excellent fashion
00:16happening right beside it. Today on Currently Trending, let's take a look back at some of
00:20the best celebrity fashion moments from this year's NBA Finals.
00:26First and foremost, we have to discuss Taylor Swift and the Haim sisters matching punny t-shirts
00:31from Game 4. While copycat tops are already flooding the market, it turns out that Alana
00:36Haim made these ones herself using her Cricut cutting machine and a bunch of $2.99 tees
00:42purchased from Michaels. In an interview with Vogue, Alana said Taylor came up with Stevie
00:47Nicks for her shirt. Alana repped Nickelback with her matching blue and orange shirt, while
00:51her sisters Estee and Danielle went with Nicole Kidman and Nicolas Cage, respectively.
00:56The group even brought along an extra Stevie Nicks tee for pal Mariska Hargitay.
01:01Quote,
01:02We were kind of going back and forth with these puns. We really just wanted to have fun because
01:06we were so excited that we were going to the game and I thought it would make people laugh.
01:10So we put them on shirts and all decided to wear them, Alana told the outlet.
01:14But Taylor and the Haims weren't the only ones matching at MSG. Game 4 also saw Timothee Chalamet
01:19and girlfriend Kylie Jenner stepping out in coordinating Chrome Hearts denim outfits customized
01:24with blue and orange crosses. Even their pear shaped diamonds matched, a Cartier necklace
01:29for Timmy and a pair of supersized studs and pinky rings for Kylie.
01:33Speaking of couples, we also saw Sydney Sweeney pop up at a couple of games with Bo Scooter Braun
01:37and instantly zeroed in on the Jalen Brunson jersey top the housemaid actress wore to Game 5.
01:43As exclusively reported by Page Six Style's Melissa Minton, Sydney's corset-inspired shirt
01:48was the work of A-wear Apparel's Kate Marr, who had just 24 hours to create the piece.
01:54And the actress paired it with accessories in Nick's colors, a vintage blue Cartier tank
01:59must watch and blue and orange enamel stacking rings from Frye Powers.
02:03Nick's superfan Spike Lee, meanwhile, showed us a totally different way to wear Nick's jersey
02:07during Game 3, sporting one signed by none other than Pope Leo XIV.
02:11When the Oscar winner was invited to meet the Holy Father at the Vatican last year,
02:16he presented him with two custom Pope Leo XIV jerseys, both featuring the number 14, of course.
02:21The pontiff kept one and signed the other for Lee.
02:24I'm not nervous, I'm not anxious, Lee told Vanity Fair ahead of the finals,
02:28and we've been blessed by Pope Leo.
02:31Jay-Z surfaced at Game 3 as well, clad in a bodie jacket embroidered with lucky four-leaf clovers
02:36and quite the watch, a Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon.
02:39Don't let the lack of diamonds fool you.
02:42One of these exceptional timepieces sold at auction in 2019 for a staggering $2.3 million.
02:49And last, but certainly not least, it's New York's most talked about bag.
02:53Jordan Woods, who's engaged to Nick's center Karl-Anthony Towns, brought an orange purse from
02:58her own Woods by Jordan brand to every winning game during the NBA Finals,
03:02and the accessory went seriously viral in the process.
03:06Ahead of President Donald Trump's attendance at Game 3,
03:09Madison Square Garden enforced a strict no-bag policy that prevented Woods from
03:12bringing along her lucky clutch, and well, the Spurs defeated the Knicks.
03:16Luckily, the faux ostrich bag was back in the building for Games 4 and 5,
03:20and the rest is history. You might even say it came through in the clutch.
