00:00And I'm wearing my homage Nick York Post shirts for Stevie Nicks and Taylor Swift and I
00:07absolutely loved that Stevie Nicks shirt and that's why I had to make sure I got a Nick
00:14York Post shirt for this segment. Her attendance at Game 4 of the NBA Finals
00:20brought the Taylor Swift scrutiny to the proceedings. Is Taylor Swift a real diehard
00:28Knicks fan? Did she deserve to be there on Celebrity Row for the greatest comeback in
00:34NBA Finals history? Let me be crystal clear. Yes, of course, obviously, and it's Taylor
00:46Swift. A couple of important things here. Number one, Taylor Swift is a Knicks fan. Let's
00:54start there. Taylor Swift has always been a Knicks fan. Taylor Swift became a true Knicks
01:01fan. There were two important things. Number one, when she moved to New York and there are
01:07many people in New York or wherever you live or move to as an adult where you adopt the
01:14team in your new city. So let's be clear. So she certainly is a New Yorker. Let's be
01:22crystal clear on that. Number two, she loves Amari Stoudelmeier. There are so many pictures
01:29from back in the day where she was at Madison Square Garden and she's cheering on Carmelo
01:35Anthony and Amari Stoudelmeier. Now, before anyone tells me, well, she was just in Cleveland,
01:42let me ask you something. I want you to think about this. And this is the relatable portion
01:46of the program. Have you ever done something or gone somewhere with your significant other
01:51because it matters to them? Just think about that before you start throwing shade. Okay.
01:57Travis Kelsey is a real diehard Cleveland sports fan. He grew up in Cleveland. He wanted to be
02:05front row for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Knicks. That doesn't make Taylor Swift any less worthy of
02:15being at Madison Square Garden for game four or whatever the hell she wants to be there. And I want
02:23to go back to something important here. She's a Knicks fan. She's a New Yorker. She's an Amari
02:35Taylor Swift. Like there are certain celebrities and people in pop culture. They just matter more.
02:43Taylor Swift matters more. And her presence and she's cheering and she's sitting next to
02:51Mariska Hardite, who is the absolute greatest as a Knicks fan and as diehard as it gets. And if
02:57Olivia Benson says it's good enough for her, then why not? I mean, Mariska Hardite changed her shirt
03:05to a Stevie Nicks shirt to support Taylor Swift. We can all dance like Taylor. Why not? And let me
03:13tell you something. Did I say this yet? It's Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is Taylor Swift. I'm a Swifty.
03:21How could you not be a Swifty? If you don't like Taylor Swift's music or if you don't respect her,
03:27I mean, you don't have a soul. I don't know what to tell you. All of her albums are great.
03:321989 is my
03:33personal favorite. August and Love Story are my two favorite Taylor Swift songs. I love it all.
03:39I mean, every single song, they're all banger after banger after banger. A Taylor Swift appearance
03:47is everything. I mean, if you're going to sit here and knock Taylor Swift or knock, oh, that's not a
03:55great sporting event. If Taylor Swift is a police, clearly that mattered to her. There are other
04:01people at that game who are not Knicks fans. Okay. You know, Wall Street people who can afford it.
04:06That's and whatever that more power to you. Do you think this is unique to New York and you don't
04:13see
04:13this in L.A. or Philly or Boston or San Francisco or Chicago? Come on. That's an amateur hour thought,
04:22an amateur hour take. So Taylor Swift is a Knicks fan. Taylor Swift is a New Yorker. Taylor Swift
04:29absolutely deserves to be there. It meant a lot to Chalamet. It meant a lot to every single
04:37celeb to Kylie Jenner to John McEnroe to every celeb there that Taylor Swift was there because
04:44Taylor Swift is every celeb's favorite celeb. It mattered to the Knicks players and to the Knicks
04:51press. I think anyone ripping Taylor Swift is just looking and reaching and searching for,
04:57hey, look at me online. Of course, Taylor Swift is a real fan. I mean, I just, I couldn't get
05:04enough.
05:04All of it was just phenomenal on Wednesday night. Now she's a legit Knicks fan, but let's be crystal
05:12clear. Taylor Swift does not crack my list of top 10 celebrity Knicks fans out there. So
05:20this is a real conversation. My group chat with my friends blowing up and it has been for weeks in
05:28terms of the celebrity fans and who the best celebrity fans are. And it's interesting when
05:34you get into this debate, I want to give you one caveat first and foremost here. Okay. I don't have
05:40any former or current athletes on the list. So John McEnroe, who is the best, but you know, I still
05:48consider him a legendary tennis player. He's not on the list. John McEnroe is elite. He's special.
05:55There are a lot of great celebrities who don't make this and I'll mention them at the end, but I've
06:02put a lot
06:02of time. I've been working on this puppy for weeks. Okay. Number 10 on my list, Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler
06:11is a legit diehard, amazing Knicks fan. He represents the Knicks all the time in New York, in LA, in
06:22his
06:22movies. He's there when it matters. He's been there in the lean years. You hear him do sports radio,
06:29talk to Dan Patrick through the years, how much he loves the Knicks. He's a native New Yorker. Adam
06:35Sandler always and forever should be considered an elite celebrity diehard Knicks fan. Number nine,
06:44Larry David. Larry David is awesome. And I know he spends a lot of time in Los Angeles. Don't make
06:51that into a negative. We all have to move somewhere where work dictates. And Larry David was all of us
06:58when he melted to the ground. Josh Hard missed that lap. I mean, my goodness. Larry David is New York
07:07through and through. He's a diehard fan. I mean, look at that reaction, right? You know, I've heard him
07:12talk to Rich Eisen and Michael Kay about his fandom with the Knicks in the past. You know,
07:17you knew he was targeting these finals, this game. Legitimate, amazing, diehard, passionate,
07:24has been there forever as a fan. Larry David deserves to be on this list. Number eight,
07:31Chris Rock. Now, Chris Rock isn't at the Garden recently as much as he used to be. But man,
07:38when you watch him, and first of all, he's Chris Rock, he lives and dies with this team. And he's
07:45there
07:45in the 90s. He's there in the 2000s. He's been there for the Jalen Brunson Knicks. And Chris Rock,
07:53I mean, you want to start talking about, and he's obviously very close with Seinfeld, with Sandler.
07:57He's there with all his celebrity buddies, you know, lives in New Jersey. Chris Rock, I mean,
08:04just go back to the Patrick Ewing days with him. Absolutely on the list. Mariska Hargitay is
08:12unbelievable. And I think that Mariska Hargitay is as legit and as diehard. And I want you to focus
08:19on what's on the screen there for Mariska Hargitay. She says the Knicks comeback was better than her
08:26wedding night. Mariska Hargitay says her, the comeback, game four, being at the Garden, was
08:35better than her wedding night. She's not saying she loves Jalen Brunson more than her husband.
08:42She's just talking about the game. And a couple of things here when it comes to Mariska Hargitay.
08:46First of all, she changed t-shirts, right? And again, that's part of my whole Taylor Swift rant.
08:51Taylor Swift should always be there. And if she's good enough for Mariska Hargitay, who's as great as it
08:55gets, that she should be good enough for everyone. She loves the Knicks. She's there all the time.
09:00So she's currently on Broadway, like literally in a play. She finished up on Wednesday. It's a big
09:07matinee day on Broadway. Two plays. She ended one of her plays, a seven o'clock play. This is a
09:15true
09:15story. She talked about it. Ten minutes early. Ten minutes early. She put on her Brunson Kobe's,
09:24ran because of traffic, because you're not going to make it otherwise, to Madison Square Garden to be at
09:33this game. The clock hit zero. And she's on the court. And she almost interviewed the interrupted
09:42the OG Ananobi interview. And she hugged Rick Brunson. Jalen Brunson has been quoted on numerous
09:49occasions saying that Mariska Hargitay is his favorite celebrity. And it stems from Rick Brunson
09:55is an obsessed Law & Order fan. Obsessed. So Jalen Brunson grew up watching Law & Order. So his favorite
10:04celebrity on Celebrity Row is always Mariska Hargitay. And I just think she is so smart,
10:10so passionate, so knowledgeable. She's been there forever. She's there, you know, against,
10:16you know, Sacramento. She's there in the big moments. She loves OG Ananobi. She lives and dies
10:21and breathes with this team. Absolutely. She's on the list. Now, if I say she's the best and she doesn't
10:29crack my top six, this is when you know New York City and Knicks fans are beyond legit. And the
10:35celebs, they're us. Number six on my list is Fat Joe. Lean back. Lean back. Fat Joe is the man.
10:44Fat Joe
10:45is absolutely incredible. This guy is as smart, passionate, goes to games home and away. He's on
10:54the flight, on the private jet with Chalamet. I mean, this guy, when you start talking about the
11:00definition of Celebrity Row, it starts with Fat Joe. This guy, I mean, has been around forever. He's
11:07at every Knick game that has ever mattered. You know, you think about the Van Gundy Knicks. You think
11:12about the Riley Knicks. You think about the lean years Fat Joe was there. You think about how he's there
11:18for games in bad weather, games when they're out of it. Fat Joe is amazing, and he absolutely is worthy
11:25of being celebrated. Number five, Edie Falco. Edie Falco is unbelievable. Edie Falco is at every game.
11:34Edie Falco, and she's being interviewed, and she grew up in New York. I mean, she was, you know,
11:39years ago, lifetime ago, before she, you know, hit the jackpot and became famous with Sopranos and,
11:45you know, Nurse Jackie, which was a very underrated show, by the way. I mean, when she was, you know,
11:49working and trying to get in as an actress, she was, you know, ultimately, she was a bartender at
11:55Canyon Road on the Upper East Side, a Mexican restaurant, and she was trying to save up enough
12:00money to go to Knicks games. She is as legit as it gets, and we showed that picture when she
12:05was just
12:06on Stephen A. Smith's show on Mad Dog Sports Radio. She dove really deep into her fandom. She's a native
12:13New Yorker. I mean, she could quote lineups from, you know, the early 80s. I mean, yeah,
12:19this picture is worth a thousand words. I mean, she could start talking about Hubie Brown's Knicks.
12:24You know, she could tell you the starting lineup for Rick Pitino's Knicks. She could start talking
12:28to you about when they drafted Kenny Skywalker. That's who Edie Falco is, and she deserves to be
12:33on this list. Number four, Tracy Morgan. And again, if Tracy Morgan's not in my top three,
12:40it tells you just how awesome this fan base is. Tracy Morgan's at every game. Tracy Morgan cares.
12:46Tracy Morgan, you know, not a front runner in any way, shape, or form. Knicks could be great.
12:51Knicks could be bad. He supports the team through thick and thin. And at every single moment in
12:57everything he's ever done professionally, always talking Knicks, always repping the Knicks. He's
13:02obviously personality filled. I'm obsessed with Tracy Morgan. 30 Rock was unbelievable. Tracy Morgan,
13:08absolutely worthy of this list. Number three, Ben Stiller. And I want to stress this. Ben Stiller's
13:15not in my top two, and I think Ben Stiller is the best. And you know, the whole Met Gala
13:20thing drove me
13:20nuts because sometimes work obligations, you know, get in the way. We can all relate to that. This is
13:26something he committed to a long time ago. Ben Stiller, home, road, lean years when he lived in
13:32L.A. He was there in the 90s. If you look at Celebrity Road back then, he was there when,
13:37you know, he was doing all the different movies throughout the course of his career. Tropic
13:42Thunder, which is ridiculously underrated and it's an all-timer. Something about Mary. He's there for
13:48everything, right? I mean, go back and listen to any interview that Ben Stiller's ever done.
13:53The Knicks are part of his soul. It's who he is growing up as a New Yorker. And I get
14:00the chills
14:01just thinking about Ben Stiller and his fandom. Even when he was in L.A. for the most part, he
14:06was
14:06still a diehard Knicks fan. Ben Stiller is as amazing and as legit and as passionate as it gets.
14:14Number two, and I considered putting him number one, is Timothee Chalamet. And I know I'm going to
14:21get some heat for people saying, well, how do you put Chalamet ahead of Fat Joe or put him ahead
14:27of
14:27Stiller or put him ahead of Tracy Morgan? Because he's young. But that's the reason he's number two.
14:35And I was very close to putting Chalamet number one. Stay with me on this. Chalamet grew up as a
14:43diehard
14:44Knicks fan when the Knicks were awful. His youth is a strength here for this argument. He grew up when
14:54the Knicks were not making the playoffs. He grew up in a bad era of basketball. I was shaped by
15:02the
15:0290s Knicks. So obviously, I mean, I'm a diehard fan anyway, but those teams are iconic. He was, he has
15:09no
15:10appreciation in terms of his lifetime and existence on earth for those teams. I mean, he grew up and he's
15:16watching, you know, Trey Burke hitting shots. I mean, you know, he remembers Frank Nilekina being drafted.
15:22You know, he remembers the boos for Chris Stapp's poor Zingas. I mean, the fact is, and go search
15:27this on X. He is such a diehard fan. It goes back to when Landry Fields was on the team.
15:36And this is a
15:37true story. You can look this up. Landry Fields put on Twitter that the first person to find me
15:45at Grand Central gets two free tickets to the ballgame tonight. Then you see a couple minutes
15:53later, congrats to Tim Chalamet. And it's a 10 year old Tim Chalamet who again grew up in Manhattan.
16:01Knicks obsessed. He is a ball knower. I love how he has made Kylie Jenner into a fan. He's on
16:08the road.
16:08He's also one of these guys and he's talked about him. I saw him talk about this on Carmel Anthony's
16:15podcast
16:16at 7 p.m. in Brooklyn. I mean, you know that he's at home on a random Tuesday night in
16:25December
16:25watching the Knicks late night against Sacramento. You know that if he saw Bill Pito on the street,
16:34he would faint because he loves the MSG coverage. Like that's why Chalamet is number two on the list.
16:41And look, number one is Spike Lee because it's Spike Lee. And obviously you think about all these
16:47moments in Madison Square Garden and Spike Lee's there. And you think about how Spike Lee has become
16:53intertwined with the Knicks, right? I mean, the choke and Reggie and, you know, Halliburton and Patrick
16:59Ewing and Anthony Mason and all John Starks. I mean, he's Alan Houston. He's just part of it,
17:06right? But I will tell you for the sake of conversation, I even thought about Chalamet number
17:12one on the list. But Spike Lee, he says number two right there. He's number one on my list.
17:18Look, there are so many great celebrities. John Turturro is, I mean, as amazing as it gets.
17:23I'm Jerry Seinfeld obsessed. I'm Seinfeld obsessed. You know, Jerry's fantastic. If it was a Mets list,
17:29he would be on it. My guy, Hank Azaria, incredible. Sam Murill, who's been on Shine Time. He's at every
17:35single Knicks game. I mean, that's the beauty of this conversation. But here is the official list.
17:41Spike Lee, Timothy Chalamet, Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan, Edie Falco, Fat Joe, Mariska Hargatay,
17:49Chris Rock, Larry David, Adam Sandler.
