00:00One of Europe's biggest technology and start-up events is underway here in Paris.
00:05Vivotech is celebrating 10 years and 200,000 visitors are expected here at the Port de Versailles,
00:11including one of the world's most famous entrepreneurs, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon,
00:16who's here to talk about his space company Blue Origin and, of course, French president Emmanuel Macron.
00:21And here on the show floor, I've been asking everybody,
00:24what technology are they most concerned about and which one are they most excited about?
00:28The answer is very often AI.
00:31What technology are you most excited about?
00:34Oh, definitely AI.
00:35What technology are you most concerned about?
00:38Artificial intelligence.
00:39I think it can be amazing, but we need to be aware of the possibilities.
00:44It has double edges and it can, of course, have a lot of benefit for humanity,
00:52but at the same time, I think it could drag us to places that we don't want to go.
00:58Some of the biggest companies in France are here, such as LVMH, Behind Me, Orange, L'Oréal, Airbus,
01:04but also all kinds of little start-ups with fresh innovations.
01:12Moi, je vais parler à voix basse, donc mes voisins ne peuvent pas m'entendre.
01:15Vous, vous avez le bruit du brouillant dans le casque.
01:19That's crazy.
01:20That's crazy.
01:21She's talking incredibly quietly and I can hear it perfectly on this headphone.
01:25Amazing.
01:25If you're in a restaurant, a really noisy spot and you want to have a private conversation.
01:29This next innovation is actually made by a charity.
01:3275% of their employees are disabled people and this is a solar rechargeable mobile battery system.
01:38If you're organising a festival, if you've got a big building site, clean energy is here wherever you are.
01:44There are thousands of extraordinary and inspiring innovations here at Vivotech in Paris.
01:51And if you're really concerned about the robots taking over the world or AI ruining everything,
01:56then get yourself one of these survival capsules.
01:58You'll be totally safe inside here.
02:00Jeremy Wilkes in Paris for Euronews.
