00:00And today we spoke to some of the speakers, including those from the World Health Organization, the World Bank Group,
00:06and also the energy company from China, InVision.
00:09I think one thing they all share in common is how can they turn AI into something, into something that
00:15is a development tool, but not another source of global inequalities.
00:19And earlier I spoke to the CEO of InVision. Let's take a listen.
00:24At the moment, we see many challenges Europe is facing. Energy security from the fossil fuel, especially after the Middle
00:34East war, the inflation caused by the war with energy, and also the expensive costs for manufacturing on electricity.
00:46At the same time, there are lack of growth in this region. So we believe the solution is the deep
00:57electrification with renewables.
00:59And what is the role of AI in your strategy?
01:02Right. So, firstly, for the AI power system, it is designed, created for AI data center.
01:13But at the same time, we are also using AI to orchestrate renewable energy in real-time milliseconds.
01:22Also, using AI to forecasting the volatile weather pattern, which is very important as energy sources of renewables.
01:35Using AI to real-time managing the data center energy management.
01:42So, we see, end of the day, it's about AI for AI.
01:47So, basically, I'm looking at a lot of the construction of a lot of AI data centers that will also
01:55consume a lot of electricity.
01:57So, just how much energy AI can help save?
02:01Right. I think it's more than safe. It's about creation.
02:07So, that abundance of renewable energy in the world, in the global Gobi Desert, 1% of energy is about
02:191,000 gigawatts, sufficient powering today's AI.
02:24But how are we able to handle orchestrating, managing, utilizing the volatile renewable energy in the Gobi Desert?
02:37So, we have to rely on AI. But this is not about large language model. This is about the physical
02:45AI, the energy foundation model, using the physical AI to manage all the renewable, to shape the future energy system.
02:56And you mentioned the wall in the Middle East. And that has made a lot of people realize that we
03:02are really vulnerable to global energy supply.
03:06And do you think that has given you more business? And are you fine-tuning or adjusting your strategy?
03:11This is always along with my kind of judgment. So, energy security is the most fundamental security issue.
03:25So, Europe now has a wake-up call. Okay, we cannot depend on the fossil fuel, Middle East. So, it's
03:36a time to work with Chinese partners to build the future grid system, energy system for Europe.
03:44And the European Union is accusing China of overcapacity. What's your take on that?
03:49Right. So, overcapacity on what? If you measure today's investment for new energy, for net zero, this is still not
04:08enough.
04:09So, I have such a belief and conviction and also my partners realize the value from Chinese partners.
