00:16pressure on the Korean Peninsula amid continued tensions over Pyongyang's nuclear program.
00:24According to Lee's office, Trump responded by saying he would work to address the North
00:29Korea issue. Separately, G7 leaders expressed serious concern over North Korea's nuclear and
00:36ballistic missile programs. The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to the full denuclearization
00:43of North Korea, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
00:48Trump met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un three times during his first term,
00:53including a historic cross-border meeting in 2019, when Trump became the first sitting U.S.
00:58president to step into North Korean territory. But diplomatic progress stalled after talks
01:04collapsed at the 2019 Hanoi summit without a deal on denuclearization or sanctions relief.
01:11Despite that, Trump has repeatedly signaled interest in reviving direct talks with Pyongyang.
