00:00Cyril is from France.
00:02Did you watch the fight?
00:03Yeah.
00:04Not in direct, but I saw it this morning.
00:07That was a great fight.
00:08It was a great evening at the White House.
00:09It was very good, Cyril.
00:13Welcome to the President.
00:15I will say a few words in French.
00:17First of all, I would like to welcome and welcome
00:24to President Trump.
00:25And thank you for being here.
00:26Thank you very much for having a celebration.
00:29I would like to thank your team,
00:31the members, the ambassadors and the team the most close to being here.
00:34It is important that we have first to have this G7
00:38in the event of an essential agreement
00:40which has been filled with Iran
00:43to talk of our big crises, Iran, Ukraine,
00:47our guerrillas, their rules,
00:49to build peace and prosperity,
00:51but also to see the ways and ways of cooperating
00:54between our economies.
00:55And that's the goal of the G7,
00:56to improve the prosperity and the elements of cooperation
00:59in the different areas.
01:01And then we will also have the opportunity to celebrate
01:03the French's 250 years of independence.
01:08France has been alongside the United States
01:09in two days.
01:12So I wanted to say, I mean, to command President Trump
01:17for the celebration yesterday
01:18and to welcome President Trump and the ministers
01:22and his team for being here in Evian for the G7.
01:25I think yesterday was signed a very important agreement,
01:30a peace deal with Iran.
01:31And it's a very important one because first,
01:34it will fix the nuclear issue.
01:37First, it will fix the nuclear issue.
01:41And it's a very important matter for peace for the whole world.
01:46And it will reopen almost.
01:49It will provide peace in Lebanon.
01:51And so we are ready to take our fair share of the burden
01:55and be part of the commitment of the international community
01:59in order to support this deal.
02:00And we will discuss about that together and his colleagues later on.
02:04But it's a very important step towards peace,
02:08but as well for global economy.
02:10We will have the occasion to discuss about the war in Ukraine
02:14in order to re-engage together
02:16and negotiate a good and solid peace and sustainable peace.
02:19And President Zelensky will be with us as well tomorrow.
02:22And obviously, we will have the occasion to bring this G7
02:25to speak about a series of issues from rare earths,
02:28critical minerals, trade, et cetera,
02:31where we have to build convergence among the G7 members.
02:35And it will be the occasion for us
02:37to celebrate the 250 years of independence for the U.S.
02:45And Versailles is a good place because this is where
02:47the king and his minister of foreign affairs at the time
02:51did support the U.S. during years,
02:54but as well prepared what we called the Paris Treaty in 1783,
03:00which was the final point of this war.
03:04So it's a great honor and a great pleasure to have you,
03:07Mr. President, in Evian and Paris.
03:09The President- Thank you. Thank you.
03:12So, Emmanuel has been a special friend of mine.
03:16We've had a fantastic relationship.
03:19We've worked on many deals together.
03:21I'm very happy to say very — it's signed.
03:26The deals all signed.
03:28And the strait is already partially open.
03:30As you know, they're doing a little hunting
03:33for a couple of mines that they've already found.
03:38But it's — essentially, ships are starting to go out now.
03:42On Friday, it'll be completely opened.
03:44We got along very well with Iran.
03:47It's a different set of leaders.
03:49As you know, the first set is gone.
03:51The second set is gone.
03:52And we found the third set to be very smart — strong,
03:56very smart.
03:57But we ended up making a deal.
04:01I felt badly that we had to go back on the attack
04:03for two nights.
04:04And I thought a third.
04:06But we made it before that happened.
04:09But I think a lot of great things are going to happen
04:11in the Middle East right now.
04:13And very importantly, the oil is plummeting down.
04:16And the stock market is shooting up like a rocket today —
04:22like record kind of numbers.
04:24And the oil has taken its biggest plunge.
04:27And we're into the low numbers — not quite back yet, Kevin,
04:33to the extent that we're getting close to the numbers we were before it all started.
04:38And the main thing is that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.
04:41They fully agreed to that with strong policing powers.
04:45And they won't have a nuclear weapon, which is what it was all about.
04:49Because they probably would have used it if they had it.
04:53So we had two big moments.
04:55One, they terminated the JCPOA.
04:57That was the Obama deal — the Barack Hussein Obama deal.
05:02And when I terminated that, it was very important —
05:04because it was a road to a nuclear weapon.
05:07It was a horrible deal for the United States.
05:10It was a deal where billions of dollars was given to Iran.
05:14It was a deal where $1.7 billion in cash was put on a Boeing 7 —
05:21well, not a 7-7, a 57, I guess, right?
05:24But it was put on a big, beautiful Boeing 757.
05:28They needed a Boeing 747, to be honest with you,
05:31because it was a lot of cash.
05:32$1.7 billion was taken out of the banks and given to Iran.
05:37And on top of that, tens of billions of dollars was paid.
05:41So they tried to bribe them to make a deal,
05:44and that didn't work.
05:45It never works.
05:48And we've done a great job.
05:51And hopefully, it's going to be a good relationship,
05:53and we're going to get along.
05:55And if we don't, we go back to where we started.
05:58But I don't think it's going to be necessary.
06:02The Iran deal that we made is going to bring a lot of success
06:08to the world, because the oil was really clogged up there.
06:11He would call me on occasion and say,
06:13come on, please, let's go to the oil prices.
06:16But the oil is coming way down.
06:18So I'm very honored by it.
06:20I want to thank you for your help.
06:22You've always been a help.
06:23And it's an honor to be with you.
06:25We had a very good conversation yesterday
06:29with President Zelensky and President Putin.
06:33And I see maybe we can do something there.
06:36I really do.
06:37I think they're both open to it.
06:39So now that this is finished, we're going to be focusing on that,
06:44see if we can get that one done.
06:4625,000 people a month are dying, mostly soldiers.
06:50And that shouldn't happen.
06:51But I had two very good conversations yesterday.
06:54We'll be talking about it.
06:56And we had a really exciting, I think maybe one of the most
07:01incredible evenings in the history of the White House.
07:03And we had an evening last night with the fighters.
07:06And I was very happy.
07:08I called last night, very late last night,
07:10to congratulate you.
07:12Because in the heavyweight division, a French fighter won.
07:16I don't know.
07:16Is that maybe more important than the World Cup?
07:19To some people, it might be.
07:21To some people, it might be.
07:22You have a good team in the world.
07:24Very good team.
07:25But you have good fighters, too.
07:27And you're a great country.
07:30And it's an honor to be with you.
07:31Thank you very much.
07:32Hey, sir, are you going to try to attend
07:34the signing ceremony on Friday?
07:37Well, it depends.
07:39J.D. is coming in for it.
07:40He was originally going to do it.
07:41I'll probably be gone by then.
07:43We're having dinner in a day and a half, right?
07:47We're going to be staying quite late.
07:50So I may be involved.
07:52I may not.
07:53But J.D. was coming in for that.
07:55Specifically.
07:56Mr. President, when will the text of the MOU be released?
08:01I think pretty soon.
08:02I would say — I mean, I want it to be released
08:05because it's a very powerful document.
08:07It's not like the Obama document,
08:11which was just a terrible document.
08:13This is a very powerful document.
08:15And I want it to be released.
08:16So, probably pretty soon.
08:18I would say after — sometime after Friday.
08:21Because the straight opens — it's open now.
08:25But it opens completely.
08:27We'll have all the mines knocked out for the most part.
08:30We have a lot of lanes right now, already.
08:33So, I think sometime — I think sometime in the very near future.
08:38Yeah.
08:39Mr. President, does the deal involve any sanctions,
08:42relief for Iran?
08:43When would that go into effect?
08:45No, it doesn't.
08:45Well, they have to.
08:46It's really a behavioral thing.
08:48If they do what they're supposed to do,
08:51that starts taking effect.
08:54Yes.
08:57Mr. President, what do you expect from France and —
09:04Well, I would help them to do that.
09:07I don't think we're going to need much help,
09:09because we have an agreement where it's going to be open.
09:11And it's toll-free.
09:13We had a little argument on that.
09:15It's toll-free.
09:16So, I don't think we're going to need much help.
09:18But I don't think it's a bad idea to have a ship or two up here
09:21from a few countries.
09:23It'd be a great country to do it, because you never know what happens.
09:26But I think it's going to be open, and I think it's going to be free-sailing.
09:31We do want to see if we can straighten out the Lebanon thing,
09:36because it just seems to just never end.
09:39And that's a mini version of what we were doing, but —
09:42and it should not be tough.
09:44It should not be tough.
09:45So, Hezbollah, we have to — we have to have a little talk with them.
09:50I think you have a question in French.
09:54It's a question that was put in French on the contribution.
09:59We're ready to have, from tomorrow,
10:02we have hunters who are on the ground
10:04and who can help in the mission of observation,
10:06and, in 48 hours,
10:07we can obviously be deployed,
10:10and, in 2 or 3 hours,
10:11we have an airplane with the boat,
10:13with the boat, which is the whole group.
10:15Of course, all this is supposed to be wanted,
10:19which has been asked by the United States of America,
10:21which is Iran and Oman,
10:23that is to say the parties prenant
10:25the agreement and the two parties
10:27in particular
10:28around the Detroit.
10:31And we have agrégé
10:32with the Britannic,
10:34a mission ADOP, where already 20 countries
10:37have given their concrete contributions
10:39and what they were prepared to do.
10:41And we are four to be present in the region.
10:43So, this is an offer.
10:45We are at the disposal.
10:45This is the support of the international community.
10:47This is the international community,
10:48our desire to re-ouvrir
10:50this Detroit.
10:51And as said the President,
10:52maybe it will not be promised
10:54and maybe it will not be necessary,
10:56but in any case,
10:56it is a disposition
10:58which marks our desire
11:01to help,
11:02to support
11:03and our disponibility.
11:04And we are ready.
11:05The question is,
11:06is there to discuss?
11:07No.
11:09We are there to discuss.
11:11There are agreements
11:11that have been made.
