00:00President Trump flew to France overnight to join the annual summit of G7 leaders.
00:04What will be the big topics of discussion during the multi-day event? And what should we be on the
00:09lookout for from the president and his global colleagues? White House reporter Emily Gooden
00:13is in France and got me up to speed on the week's proceedings. The name of the game for this
00:18summit
00:18may be avoidance. President Trump is coming into the G7 having strained relations with five out of
00:25the six leaders. There's unhappiness over the situation in Iran. Trump is unhappy that the
00:32other European leaders refuse to help him with the war. The European leaders are mad that he
00:37threatened to take Greenland, that this war has driven up gas prices. So there's just a lot of
00:42tension going into these three days. And a lot of the experts that I talked to are predicting the
00:48fellow world leaders are going to just ignore the president. One even compared it to that infamous
00:53Saturday Night Live skit where Alec Baldwin played President Trump at the school cafeteria and the
00:59other world leaders made him sit at a different table and made fun of him. So things are tense.
01:04We'll see how it goes. We'll see if things blow up or if people just smile politely and walk away.
