00:04Scientists have found several exoplanets they believe have water,
00:07something that has become much more commonplace in recent years.
00:10However, one of those worlds, a high-sean planet called K218b,
00:14might be hiding more than just H2O.
00:17The planet is only 120 light-years away,
00:19and they recently found signatures of dimethyl sulfide,
00:23a compound that usually means life is present.
00:25High-sean worlds are unlike the rocky ones in which scientists most often look for life,
00:29as they are warm planets covered in vast oceans.
00:31But the authors of this study say,
00:33high-sean worlds are actually much more conducive to life as we already know they have water,
00:37but K218b is important for other reasons.
00:40It was the first H2O-confirmed exoplanet to also sit within the Goldilocks zone,
00:45or the area of habitability around its host star,
00:47with the researchers writing that some of the conditions in the oceans of these worlds
00:51could be similar to habitable conditions in Earth's oceans,
00:54meaning similar temperatures and pressures,
00:55liquid water and with a safe amount of energy raining down from its star.
01:00Though K218b is also 8.6 times the size of our planet.
01:04So if you were hoping to one day visit,
01:05you'll probably want to reconsider.
