00:00So let's go over to one of your teams, though, the Dodgers here.
00:03How do you think they're playing so far this year, Bobby?
00:08Mediocre, and they're just so talented they can win a lot of games.
00:12And, you know, they've been relatively healthy.
00:15You know, they missed Mookie a while,
00:17and now Otani has a situation that is going to be really scrutinized,
00:23the left knee, the landing knee when he's pitching.
00:27So maybe it's just the back of the hamstring.
00:30Maybe it's the knee.
00:31I'm not sure exactly what it is.
00:33But, you know, if they stay healthy, they're going to win their division,
00:36and they win their division,
00:37then, you know, those pitchers will try to dominate in the playoffs.
00:42They're a really good team.
00:44Not playing that well, but a really good team.
00:46You think they're going to make moves on the August 3rd trading deadline?
00:50I mean, Scoobles' name is out there.
00:52Chapman's name is also out there.
00:54And, again, it's just a wealth of riches right now.
00:57That the Dodgers have.
00:58But could you see Andrew Freeman making a move close to the trading deadline?
01:03Yeah, I could see them getting a closer like Chapman,
01:06someone that, you know, could lock it down.
01:08Because, you know, their offense isn't giving them a lot of space
01:13in some of these games.
01:14And they're going to need to win those one-run games
01:17in order to sustain that championship edge.
01:20But they're really good.
01:22You know, when you have that much talent on the field, you know,
01:27it's fun to go to the ballpark every day.
01:30Absolutely.
01:31If you're looking at the two teams in Chicago, Bobby,
01:34who are you buying more, the Sox or the Cubs this year?
01:38Oh, I think the Cubs will come out.
01:40The Sox have had a nice run.
01:42But, you know, to sustain that after being where they've been the last few years,
01:48I think it's really tough.
01:50You know, it's magical right now.
01:53But, you know, the magic wears off.
01:55And the talent's, I think, just a little too immature.
01:59Absolutely.
02:00Bobby, why do you think the American League,
02:02there's only a handful, less than a handful of teams,
02:05that are above 500.
02:06Why do you think that side of the league is struggling so much?
02:11Well, they're not very good teams.
02:13You know, the complete team really isn't out there.
02:18Aaron Judge is on the DL for who knows how long with the Yankees.
02:22And, you know, the other teams, the Rays and the Indians and,
02:29excuse me, the Guardians and, you know, the Oakland A's,
02:34they're incomplete teams.
02:35So, you know, I think it's going to be a second-half league
02:41where that second half of the season, whoever gets hot,
02:45whoever has that 14 out of 16 win streak there in the second half
02:52is going to go to the playoffs
02:53and maybe even carry it into the playoffs if the streak is late enough.
02:59Bobby, a couple last questions here for you.
03:01June 13th, are you surprised that the Tampa Bay Rays are in first place?
03:05Right now, again, as you mentioned, judges out.
03:08So, the Yankees have kind of wobbled in that lineup a tad.
03:10But are you shocked that the Rays are still in first place in the ALEs
03:13as they head west?
03:15Yeah, how I didn't mention them, I don't know.
03:18You know, it's the best organization in baseball.
03:20That's simple.
03:21They've done it consistently, and they've done it magically year in and year out.
03:27So, I'm not surprised that they're in first place.
03:30But I don't think that that's the overwhelming group of players
03:35that's going to win a world championship either.
03:39Absolutely here.
03:40Finally here.
03:41Bobby, you think Seattle, 30 seconds here.
03:43You think Seattle is getting their sea legs now?
03:46They're starting to rally back around.
03:48They're leading the west right now.
03:50They struggled out of the gate.
03:51Do you believe that they've found their sea legs?
03:54The most talented team, that's for sure.
03:56And, you know, I think they found Rodriguez swinging the bat the way he can
04:02and that healthy pitching staff.
04:04You know, they have the most talent, and it's not always the most talented team
04:11that wins, but the team that plays the best,
04:14and now they're playing a pretty decent brand of baseball also.
