00:45So naturally, I assumed I was coming here today to receive my star for my part in that iconic cult
00:53classic, Spice World the movie.
00:59But as it turns out, earning a star takes a little more than surviving the late 90s box office.
01:08Yeah, it takes vision, determination and an extraordinary amount of hard work.
01:17So to see David's name become part of that story today is incredibly special.
01:25Like so many before him, David came to America with a dream.
01:30A dream to share his passion for the beautiful game with as many people as he could and help make
01:38football, sorry, soccer, one of this country's great sports.
01:43He believed that if he worked hard and dreamed big enough, anything was possible.
01:51Now, a lot of people thought that he was ambitious.
01:54Some might even have said it was impossible.
01:57But David has never been very good at listening when people tell him something can't be done.
02:04From those early conversations and big ambitions to enter Miami and a new stadium that has captured the imagination of

02:14he has achieved the extraordinary.
02:18And now, with the World Cup upon us, football, I'm sorry, soccer in America is entertaining, is entering one of

02:31which makes this incredible honour feel all the more timely.
02:36Most of you will know David as a sportsman, a businessman, and an activist.
02:42But behind those titles is a man who has always been defined by his character.
02:49His drive, his determination, and his ambition are known to everyone.
02:54But I'd also like to acknowledge his kindness, his loyalty, and his commitment to the people that he loves.
