00:19Monica Luis Prieto Teodoro, and their adult son.
00:22In a statement, the ministry claims Teodoro, quote,
00:25repeatedly made irresponsible remarks on China, which undermines China's legitimate interests and sabotages China-Philippines relations.
00:32The Philippine Foreign Affairs Department says,
00:35while it was China's prerogative to impose sanctions,
00:37the Philippines views it as an unfriendly act that further complicates the bilateral relations.
00:42Teodoro is President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s second cabinet official to be sanctioned by Beijing.
00:48His newly appointed labor chief, former Senator Francis Tolentino,
00:51is also barred from entering mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
00:56Teodoro says Friday, June 12, the sanctions were both China's right and, quote,
01:00truly what they do to those who speak the truth against their deception.
