00:00How do we know that there is a self in the first place?
00:02There is no self. Standing here, you are one person.
00:05You sit down, your neighbor utters a foolish joke and you are another person.
00:09You have changed. Then who are you? Do you exist?
00:12Is there anybody called the individual?
00:14Do you see how the self changes with the situations? That's the flux.
00:19And once you see that it's all a flux, then there is no self.
00:22Because by self, you mean something that must remain unchanging.
00:25At least slightly unchanging.
00:27This that you call as the self is so dependent on the flux that it is not stable even for
00:33a nanosecond.
00:34Then who are you? Here's my friend.
00:36And the great sheet has just been put up.
00:37And I find him having better grades than me.
00:40I coached him for the exam. I tutored him.
00:42And look at this. The fellow is at A minus, I am at B.
00:45Who are you? A great friend? A jealous one? Who are you?
00:48And when you were coaching him, you see how you credited yourself with being a great helper?
00:52Do you remember? Do you see that?
00:54What is the nature of this so-called help then?
00:56And that can be seen only in the daily movement of life.
00:59You don't have to go to the Himalayas for that.
