The new GLE models are equipped with a new, water-cooled processor. It boasts ample performance reserves for future driver assistance functions. To provide optimal driver assistance, each model is equipped with a multitude of sensors: ten external cameras, up to five radar sensors, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. These sensors work in conjunction with a powerful control unit running MB.OS. Artificial intelligence processes the sensor data to assess the surrounding traffic situation.
In Europe, MB.DRIVE is standard equipment, including features such as DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control. The MB.DRIVE ASSIST and MB.DRIVE ASSIST PLUS packages offer extended assistance functions, depending on the market. MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO – available from launch in China – enables a seamless and safe point-to-point driving experience, even in dense urban traffic. It will be available in the USA at a later date. Other markets, such as Europe, may receive this feature as soon as regulations permit.
