00:00Mark Vientos is a fascinating conversation every single time I have it
00:03because, as is the case with many players, I don't have ill will against Mark.
00:06I like the swaggy V vibes.
00:08I love the run that the Mets had with him in 2024.
00:10It's been nothing short of a shame that they have not been able to find that consistency with him
00:14nor himself when it comes to his play since that point,
00:17especially given the further runway he's had now with Pete Alonso no longer in the fold.
00:21Mark Vientos has been as Jekyll and Hyde of a hitter as he can come,
00:24and knowing that he does not bring you certainty defensively or with his base running
00:29or even now with the bat, it begs the question just how much more wiggle room is there
00:33to justify Mark Vientos getting the playing time he's been getting.
00:36And the thing is, I feel like Mark can and will do something about it.
00:40I just think it's going to be best for him to have a change of scenery,
00:42to have a different direction, a different voice, leadership down,
00:46and I could see him really thriving in a smaller market.
00:50Transparently, I could see Mark Vientos doing really well if he goes back to Florida,
00:53where he's from, if he actually went on to a team like the Miami Marlins
00:57or even the Tampa Bay Rays, like I could see him thriving in a climate like that
01:01where he's playing in a dome half a season, even like, I don't know, Arizona.
01:04You know, I'll go down the laundry list of teams, you know,
01:07just where I think it makes somewhat logical sense.
01:09I think he needs to be in a specific ballpark to benefit him, a hitter park especially,
01:14and I think those are areas that make some logical sense for him,
01:18but we'll obviously wait and see.
