00:00Did we witness the greatest comeback in the history of professional sports?
00:04You can hate me all you want in New England, but Tom Brady's 28-3 comeback got nothing
00:09on the Knicks' 29-point come-from-behind win game four.
00:13He's an 18-year NBA vet, and he spent eight of those years as a Knick.
00:18Kurt Thomas is on to talk all things NBA Finals.
00:22Got a throw in there.
00:23He went to the playoffs four times with the Knicks, two times to the Eastern Conference
00:28Finals, and you also played in the Finals.
00:30Kurt, appreciate you hopping on with this, man.
00:32You're still looking like you can get out there and D-up Wimby, man.
00:35How you feeling today?
00:36I'm feeling great.
00:37Feeling great.
00:38I wish I could D-up, but those days are long behind me.
00:41But no, everything's good.
00:42Glad to be here.
00:43All right.
00:43Game four, we witnessed another comeback for the history books.
00:48They walked down a 29-point deficit.
00:52You have to choose one.
00:53Did the Knicks win or take that game, or did the Spurs choke?
01:01Oh, my God.
01:03It was an unbelievable game.
01:05You got to give both teams credit, but you definitely got to give the Knicks credit for
01:09hanging on, fighting, fighting, fighting, even though they were down 29 points at halftime,
01:13but finding a way to keep fighting in that second half to get back in the game.
01:17And what an unbelievable tip-in by OG, something that will never be forgotten here in New York.
01:23When we talk about De'Aaron Fox, that reason why I said they choked away that lead,
01:28or that could have been an option for you.
01:30De'Aaron Fox, at the end, had the chance to kind of allow the clock to kind of bleed out
01:35or get fouled and go to the line to get two free throws.
01:38He chose to go up for a layup.
01:41OG comes out of nowhere, has a LeBron-like block.
01:45As a former player, what do you say to a guy like that in the locker room that has one
01:52of the biggest blunders of the final so far?
01:56Oh, man, it was a tough situation.
01:58I believe he really thought he was wide open, thought he had an easy layup, but OG came
02:02out of nowhere with an amazing block shot, which led to a Brunson three.
02:06Came up a little short, but then OG comes in with the tip-in.
02:10And it's just an amazing play.
02:11Something that I'm probably sure that he looks back on, he would say that he probably should
02:14have just dripped the ball out and just got fouled and went to the free throw line.
02:17But it worked to our advantage.
02:19You know, hey, we'll take the win however we can get it.
02:21All day, every day.
02:22OG has kind of shown, or OG has shown, in my opinion, that he's one of the top two-way
02:28players in the league.
02:30We talk about the defense, what he's able to do on the defensive side of the ball, but
02:34he's averaging almost 24 points in these finals.
02:37Is OG Ananobi, finals, MVP favorite right now, up 3-1, going into a closeout game?
02:45Without a doubt.
02:46I think, you know, with his last game, what he's been doing this entire finals has been
02:51great.
02:51I mean, Brunson has been playing outstanding.
02:54You know, he had 30 the other night, but we're just trying to do whatever it takes to
02:59get a win.
03:00We don't care who it is.
03:01Whoever steps up to the next game, the next man up.
03:05OG's last second tip-in.
03:07It looks like Knicks fans are back on the basketball guides' favor, especially for the,
03:15you know, Patrick Ewing's delay up back in 1999.
03:18Is it safe to say that the basketball guides are smiling on New York City right now because
03:24of that tip-in?
03:25Oh, without a doubt.
03:26I mean, he came out of nowhere.
03:28It was amazing the way he stayed into the game.
03:30He kept, he just kept playing until the last second and he was able to get his hand on the
03:33ball.
03:34Amazing tip-in.
03:35And, you know, all the New Yorkers just glad that he fell and he went in.
03:39When we talk about trying to close this series out, they're going to need, you know, contribution
03:44from up and down the roster.
03:46Who do you think, who would you say you need a little bit more from?
03:50It could be production, energy, hustle, points, whatever.
03:53Who do you say needs to step up game five that really hasn't played up to their true potential
03:57yet this series?
04:00I mean, you know, I think all guys have been playing great.
04:03You know, it's not, it doesn't come down to just one particular player.
04:06We want to see all guys playing on, clicking on all cylinders.
04:09You know, for me, I would love to see OG continue to do what he's doing.
04:12Love to see Towns continue to do what he's doing.
04:14And, you know, if Hart can just keep playing defense on both ends and give us those amazing
04:19tip-in, rebounds, you know, we'll take it however we can get it.
04:22You're a physical player for the Knicks and throughout the course of, you know, your NBA,
04:27your time in the NBA.
04:28You're also a leader out there.
04:30So take us into the locker room.
04:32Let's say you're on this team.
04:33You're talking to the guys.
04:34You guys got one more left.
04:36What are you saying to them in terms of what it's going to take for these dudes to close
04:42it out game five?
04:44Just understanding that it's not over yet.
04:46The job is not done.
04:47We still need one more win.
04:49We're three wins, one win away.
04:51But we need four to, you know, to win the championship.
04:53And just focus on the job at hand.
04:5548 minutes, one win, and we're champions.
04:59To be a former Knick and to play in the finals, the last time the Knicks were in the NBA
05:04finals,
05:05like as alum, you see these guys are so proud of the guys, this new generation of Knicks now.
05:10How do you watch these games?
05:13Oh, man, I'm so excited.
05:14I'm so pumped.
05:15I'm just excited for what these guys have done, what they've been doing all year long.
05:18They set their goals and they've been obtaining them all year long.
05:21And we just, we need one more win, baby, and we're champions.
05:24Was the Garden as jumping back in 1999 as it is in 2026?
05:31Oh, my God.
05:32It was great back then, but I think it's even better now, man.
05:35With the internet and how the fans are all so engaged, it's just amazing.
05:39And the Garden definitely did not disappoint.
05:42We'll see you at the parade.
05:44Yes, sir.
05:45There we go.
05:45Kurt Thomas, appreciate you hopping on with this, man.
05:48Appreciate you.
