00:00Is it fair to say you are currently considering your position?
00:03So, within this situation, I need to do what is right by the armed forces.
00:07And if I don't think that's right, then I will absolutely consider my position.
00:10And from my perspective at the moment, we have not closed with this deal.
00:14When we have closed with this deal, I will decide my position.
00:18Right, so you're putting number 10 on notice, effectively.
00:20If you don't get what you believe is right for the armed forces
00:23out of this defence investment plan, you will also follow John Healy out the door.
00:26I will decide on my position within the government.
00:29I think we need to be really, really clear.
00:30There are two things that we need to look at.
00:32First is the capability, so the tanks, the ships, the bombs, the bullets
00:37that we give to armed forces, the physical component.
00:40And then I've been really clear on one other issue,
00:42which isn't talked about, is the moral component.
00:44And that's about the Northern Ireland Legacy Act.
00:46And until we see changes in those two elements,
00:51I will definitely consider my position until they're changed.
