00:00We were all really giddy about starting.
00:02I think we knew we were about to be slingshotted into a different dimension, so it was really

00:09You know, it's like the first day of school every time you make a movie, but with your
00:13hero it's like another level.
00:16The greatest gift of working with Stephen is you do a take and you know exactly how
00:20it's gone because he's like a big kid.
00:24And you can hear him go, oh yes!
00:26And then he comes in and then you feel immediately at ease.
00:29How did you know that these two were right for the roles?
00:32Instantly.
00:32We were huge fans of The Crown.
00:35I love what Josh did with Prince Charles.
00:38We liked all the Queen characters and we liked all the Dianas, but we really were nuts about
00:44Josh.
00:44So he had been in my mind for a long time.
00:47And then when I saw Challengers, I pretty much thought, oh this is going to be my guy, but
00:51I need to meet him first.
00:52And Josh came over to New York and he met me in New York.
00:54I wanted to offer him the part in the room, but I thought he would die on the floor.
00:59And I, having gotten to know him after an hour conversation, I just wanted to give him the
01:04part.
01:04Instead I said, well I'm going to send you the script to read.
01:06We'll see what you think.
01:07With Emily, I had been a huge fan of Emily's from everything she's done, starting with the
01:13first Prada, which was the first time I was, I became aware of you on that movie.
01:18Which is a very difficult part to play, to be able to find sympathy in that character,
01:25which you were able to, you managed to do.
01:27And then I saw her in this incredible film with Tom Cruise.
01:31It was all physical, and it was a mind-bending science fiction movie.
01:35Do you remember that movie?
01:36Edge of Tomorrow.
01:37I do.
01:37I think my back and my knees remember it the most.
01:40And I just thought that Emily was just a rainbow of opportunities for me to cast her in this
01:45and just turn her loose as Margaret.
