Steven Spielberg thinks his latest sci-fi film ‘Disclosure Day’ has more truth in it than we are led to believe.

The filmmaking icon attended the UK premiere of his new film in London alongside stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson and Colin Firth. ‘Disclosure Day’ is about the reveal of aliens in our world, and Steven thinks we could be set for our own Disclosure Day very soon.

00:00Nobody knows the truth but those who are hiding the truth.
00:09Hello, thank you so much for your time, I appreciate you.
00:12There's a big line mentioned in the second trailer for this film
00:15where there's an interview with yourself and you say,
00:17I want to say this is true.
00:19But what about Disclosure Day in general?
00:21What can you look at within Disclosure Day
00:23and say with utmost certainty this is the truth that you're putting out there?
00:27Well, you know, nobody knows the truth but those who are hiding the truth.
00:31But the truth is leaking out and people are seeing things
00:35when the government started releasing tranches of videos.
00:38It's very vague.
00:39Some of them I can't tell what it is.
00:41But at least something is forthcoming.
00:44Something is forthcoming.
00:46And it's just a coincidence that I wrote this story in 2023
00:51and David Koepp wrote the screenplay
00:54and we've been collaborating since 2024.
00:56And we made the entire film and then all of a sudden
01:00all of this stuff starts, not leaks,
01:03all of these videos are being disclosed from the Pentagon.
01:09So I don't know whether we intuited something
01:14or whether they saw the Super Bowl spot in January.
01:19But there's a very interesting convergence
01:23between my fiction, because my movie is not a true story,
01:29but it's about something that I believe is very close to the truth.
01:34My final question is, the industry at the moment is very excited
01:37about two young filmmakers who have films in their box office top ten at the moment,
01:41Obsession and Backrooms as well.
01:43They're young lads in their 20s, as you were when you made Jaws as well.
01:46Yes, I'm so happy for them.
01:47I think it's so fantastic.
01:49I think it's great that they had basically very little money,
01:53especially Obsession had under a million dollars
01:55and the other film had maybe ten or nine.
01:57And they're doing so well and I just applaud them.
02:00And I haven't seen Backroom.
02:03I am going to see it when all this is over,
02:05but I have seen Obsession and I loved it.
02:07Fantastic.
02:08Thanks for your time.
