00:00I think it's the same in most cities these days that places are closing you see especially live
00:05music venues I think those are closing a lot so yes I think Birmingham has changed a lot over
00:10the last couple of years and it's a shame to see places closing down you see horrible empty corner
00:16places so yeah it is a shame so yeah things are just changing shops as well not just music venues
00:23Nighttime economy had disappeared from Birmingham a long time ago it's definitely not the same as
00:28it was back in the 90s that was mostly in clubbing and that was the emergence of dance music in
00:33terms
00:33of where really sort of hit the commercial streets now it's mostly bars but otherwise it's not really
00:40there other cities do it better than Birmingham unfortunately but we were still one or two hot
00:45spots they're good to go to I guess it I mean it is going to have an impact on the
00:48on on this end
00:49on the city and I think you end up with the chain survived and then I think you don't it
00:54loses a bit
00:54of the um the charm of it and the sort of you know I think the independent bases are always
00:59better
00:59so yes I have noticed that there aren't as many options and things for evening entertainment but
01:04as I'm a little bit older now I don't tend to want to go to those places anyway I'm quite
01:08happy for
01:08daytime drinking I think things just seem to be more encouraged now the daytime drinking the brunches
01:14that type of thing more so than the the club nights feels like anything that isn't um saving loads of
01:23money or this one like that I think or anything isn't viewed as an immediate benefit he's just getting
01:28cut at the moment
