00:00That is right, and happy 6-10 day to you, Houston.
00:04Happy 6-10 day.
00:05Every Wednesday right around this time here on Houston's number one
00:08afternoon drive sports talk program.
00:10We do a little stock talk, stock up, stock down.
00:13Today we are doing an NBA Finals edition.
00:15We are talking hoops.
00:17Knicks up 2-1 on the Spurs.
00:19Game four is tonight in New York at Madison Square Garden.
00:23Stock up, stock down.
00:24I like getting the negatives out of the way first.
00:26We're on the show.
00:27Hughley coming to you.
00:29Stock down for these NBA Finals right now.
00:31All right, a little stock down.
00:33You can send yours in, 713-572-4610, and look as sexy as you want to.
00:42My stock down is the NBA officiating.
00:46No matter how you feel about it.
00:48Mike Brown both feel this way.
00:50Yeah, I know, Mike.
00:52No matter how you feel about it,
00:54whether you think Mike Brown is whining,
00:58whether you think Brunson is whining,
01:01or Wimby is whining, or whatever it is,
01:04Clint, they are way too much of the conversation right now.
01:08It is way too much of the conversation.
01:11Like, we're talking about, honest to God, it's Wimby, Brunson's play,
01:19and I think the officiating jumps before, like, Cat.
01:23And then the celebrities right after that.
01:25The celebrities, yes.
01:26Like, it is way too much of the conversation,
01:30and now everybody's scared S-less because Scott Foster is the lead official,
01:35and who knows what that, I mean, I'm telling you, he going,
01:39Scott's in there, hey, we've got to take control of this thing early.
01:42Let's go.
01:43Hope Tony Brothers is with him.
01:44But we've got to set the tone.
01:45We've got to set the tone.
01:47So, and I'll be honest with you,
01:49I think tonight's game potentially may look and be officiated
01:53completely different than it has been the first three games,
01:57which may take some time.
02:00And we talked about it earlier.
02:01I mean, somehow they went and looked at Wimby and thought,
02:07nah, that wasn't a flagrant.
02:10That wasn't.
02:11So, to me, stock down to the officiating
02:14because it's just way too much of the conversation.
02:19There's stock down for Ron the Show Hughley ahead of Game 4
02:22in these NBA Finals.
02:23We're doing stock up, stock down here on the drive.
02:25Stock down for you, Clint Sterner, within these Finals.
02:28New York City.
02:30Ooh-wee.
02:31Just in general.
02:32I mean, I've seen alleged,
02:35but I've seen, you know,
02:37guys try to stop fools from tearing down street signs
02:40and they jump him
02:40and then continue to tear the city down.
02:43I've seen just a random dude,
02:45which I don't know why.
02:46Ron and I talked about this the other day,
02:48and I said, I don't want no part of New York.
02:50It was more about the brash people,
02:51not necessarily the fear for my life.
02:53But who in the world would go to New York
02:56and go to a game
02:57and wear the opposing team's jersey
03:00and then walk down the street at night
03:02with all that going on in said jersey.
03:04But apparently, New York is, you know,
03:07they're ripping jerseys off of Spurs fans
03:09that are walking down the street.
03:10The video I saw, they jumped a kid
03:13or the guy, I don't know how old he was.
03:16Trap human beings, man.
03:17Yeah.
03:18It's stupid.
03:18You should be able to wear your damn jersey.
03:20Well, I mean, you should be able to wake up the next day
03:23and have all the street signs there.
03:25You should be able to wear your jersey
03:27and not get your jersey ripped off of you
03:30and not get your head kicked in.
03:33Wimby should be able to leave the hotel
03:35and not have some idiot screaming at him
03:37about how he's an F and B kind of deal.
03:41See, I did that there, Tyler Sage.
03:42You don't know why.
03:43I like it.
03:43I like it.
03:44I mean, like it just, it just,
03:47like I've said before,
03:48I ain't lost nothing in New York, boy.
03:50Yeah.
03:50No, that's just, no, that's some...
03:52Stock down, New York City.
03:54That is, yeah, they are taking Wimby's punk stuff
03:57and taking it all to another level.
03:59That guy I watch, he's just literally walking down the street.
04:02Yep.
04:02If you're a grown adult acting like that,
04:04you're just the trash of the earth.
04:06You are the scum of the earth.
04:08Yeah, you are.
04:08Awful human being.
04:10We're doing a little stock up, stock down here on The Drive.
04:12Those were our stock downs from Clint and Ron.
04:15We're talking NBA Finals edition this week for Stock Talk.
04:19Back to you, Ron.
04:20Stock up for the NBA Finals.
04:22All right, stock up for me.
04:23And, listen, my stock up is Mike Brown.
04:27Mike Brown, the New York Knicks coach.
04:33Hey, Houston Rockets, maybe take a look at this.
04:36Hey, Rockets, keep your eyes open.
04:38You see what happened?
04:39They hadn't really changed much on their team.
04:41And what did they do?
04:42They changed their coach because their offense wasn't good enough.
04:44And, oh, whoa, what are you looking here?
04:46Their offense is all of a sudden going crazy.
04:49And they then ran off 13 straight games.
04:53I think he was a guy that was thought of.
04:56LeBron drug him to the finals before.
04:59Oh, he did all right with the Kings but couldn't get out of the first round.
05:02He's a good assistant.
05:03And now we are seeing him take a New York Knicks team that I think people thought was good but
05:09not a championship-level team.
05:12And they are two wins away.
05:14And a lot of people are calling him whining and everything about him going to the media with the officiating.
05:23I think ultimately it's potentially going to be a smart move that helps his team because I do think we're
05:29going to see officiating changed in this series.
05:33But overall, I just think people are viewing Mike Brown differently at this point.
05:37He, you don't generally see this, Clint, as a coach, he seems to have been the missing piece for the
05:44Knicks right now.
05:45Again, Tillman Fertitta, just saying, this seems very similar.
05:49Tom Thibodeau, Udoka, defensive-minded coaches.
05:54I mean, in one year they're here.
05:55Yeah, Udoka just might not be the guy here in Houston.
05:58That was Ron stock up for these NBA finals.
06:01Stock up for the finals in your view, Clint Sterner.
06:04Well, I'm going to use one that may be actually kind of on the downslide.
06:10But I still think the stock is up, relatively speaking, to the finals starting.
06:14Carl Anthony Towns.
06:16Yeah.
06:16I love when Ron calls him Carl.
06:18I just leave it at that.
06:20I love it.
06:20Not Cat, not Carl Anthony Towns, just Carl.
06:23I love when he does that.
06:24But, no, I think tonight's a monster night for him.
06:27I mean, he went to – he went from a spot of, I think, his stock being kind of just
06:34level.
06:34He went from buying his stock, not because it sucked, but just because there wasn't a whole lot of movement.
06:42With these finals, I think the first two games, that stock was climbing quicker than anybody's stock out there.
06:49And the last game, it obviously fell a little bit.
06:54And this game is the one that matters.
06:55If Carl Anthony Towns is a no-show, if he's not a factor on one end of the floor or
07:01both, in this game, his stock is going to hit that level, you know, spot where it was during the
07:07regular season, kind of where it's lived its whole life.
07:10So, from a stock perspective, I'm going to go Carl Anthony Towns while I still can.
07:14Yeah.
07:15Listen, they were talking about – because, Clint, he was still – Tyler, I don't know if he's the betting
07:23favorite.
07:24But I did see a –
07:25Brunson?
07:26No, Cat.
07:28I did see a – somebody had a listing where he was still the favorite to win – I don't
07:36think he's the betting favorite, but this was another site that who they had listed to be the MVP.
07:41I think he was still potentially number one.
07:44Clint, if he wins the MVP, which if he has another good game – by the way, Carl, you could
07:49join the team and join the series in the fourth quarter.
07:53By the way, Carl, in these three games, has not scored in the fourth quarter of any of the games.
07:58Really?
07:58Yes.
07:59By the way, that's an odd thing right there.
08:02You could join, but Carl Anthony Towns has got to – has put himself – people are talking about he
08:10potentially could make the Hall of Fame.
08:12Come in and keep –
08:12Come in.
08:12Come in.
