There is something special about this van, Not only is it a new EV Van.. It has some technology that could finally break the regulators back to bring the Tesla Cybertruck to the UK. ‪@yiannimize‬ does this now fix your Cyber-Problem? :)

Other than that, here are my thoughts on Geely's new UK Van!
Döküm
00:05Hello and welcome to Gone In 60 Seconds. We are here today with a van and yes it's an electric
00:11van. This is by the company Verizon. You may not have heard of them but don't worry because I'll
00:15tell you a bit more about them later. But there is something really really important about this van
00:22that affects all other new vehicles coming to the UK. Something really important that might even see
00:29the allowance of the Cybertruck to come to the UK. So stay tuned and find out a little bit more
00:36about
00:36that later. But first of all let's have a look around this and have a look inside and we'll take
00:41it for a drive and see what it's like and I'll tell you if you should buy one. Now the
00:47first thing to
00:48point out about this van is the sort of chin across the front with the light up Verizon badge. That's
00:53what makes it stand out and makes it look quite cool. It's obviously black and in this colour I
00:58think it looks very smart and quite futuristic with this section here. Otherwise it's almost
01:04unremarkable it's just a van looking van. Obviously this is the H2 I think so it's slightly bigger
01:12but the great thing about this is the amount of stuff you can get in the back of it. But
01:19I think
01:19where it really makes a difference other than this is what's on the inside. So from this side you can
01:27see
01:27you've got nice big chunky handles. The most important thing about this van I think in terms of
01:34its shape and the way it's built is the absolute size of this side door. The side opening into this
01:41is massive which means you can actually side load a pallet in here. So if you're working in tight spaces
01:48that could be an absolute game changer for you. The space in here is obviously massive and it's
01:54obviously quite van like. It's exactly as you would expect but the fact you can side load a pallet in
01:59here I think is a real big bonus. The fact the handles are nice and chunky too means you can
02:06even
02:06open them if you've got your gloves. From the back you can see it's got great big barn doors. Nice
02:13flush handle
02:14on the back and it just opens as you would expect. Importantly there's no lip lip here at all so
02:23again
02:24if you're just loading in pallets or whatever it's going to be pretty seamless and easy. It's a very good
02:30space and a very usable vehicle. I'm sat in front of this Verizon super van and one thing I did
02:36want to
02:37touch on and I think it is extremely important as why this van is actually a game changer. I mean
02:43because in reality it is just a van another van and it's an EV which is cool obviously I think
02:49that's
02:50great. We do need to convert van drivers to EVs but we need to make them have good enough range
02:56and be
02:58suitable enough for all of their uses. This does tick a lot of those boxes but the big game changer
03:05with
03:05this is the fact that the steering isn't actually connected to the wheels. No no no this is steer by
03:14wire and steer by wire means it's not physically connected. The electronics in this work out how
03:20much you're turning the steering wheel and apply the correct amount of steering to the wheels itself.
03:26And this is a big bone of contention because up until extremely recently this has not been allowed in
03:32the UK. In fact if you watch Yanomars' videos you'll find out that that is the big reason why they
03:40weren't allowing him to register a Cybertruck here. But now it's here and there's a Lexus coming very
03:48very shortly as well that has the same technology so surely this means it has been approved otherwise
03:53someone sneaky sneaky got past the government with this but this means it is approved. So what this van
03:59actually means is an awful lot more because it is the start of something new it's the start of this
04:06new technology being allowed here in the UK which means you are going to be able to see people
04:10registering their Cybertrucks once they've made the additions with their lights and the bits and pieces.
04:16But that is an absolute game changer because all this new tech coming to the UK
04:23is a huge huge thing. So we're going to have a look inside the Verizon super van and first thing
04:31to
04:31note on the doors you've got absolutely loads of space you've got massive space there for a big bottle
04:36and a space there for some other bits and pieces. A small little cubby there for your car suites and
04:41then
04:42your handle is kind of reassuring. A key in there and you've got your window buttons and mirror buttons here
04:49and a nice chunky grab handle as well. Again that's quite easy to use if you've got gloves and stuff.
04:55Now inside the van you've got this kind of leathery upholstery and you've got the three seats across the
05:02front. The bulkhead is all metal of course but you've got this kind of light coloured almost knitted fabric
05:10upholstery on the roof lining. Now as we go across the inside and we have a look around it is
05:18very car
05:18like in here. Now this is all plastic but it is kind of hard wearing easy to clean plastic which
05:24is
05:24kind of cool. But if you look around you've got this beautiful orangey kind of look trim across here
05:30which I think really pops and makes it stand out. Then in here you've got your big infotainment screen
05:36across the middle and a screen in front of the driver. You've got some also got some touch buttons
05:41here we'll go into all of that in a minute. Down in the middle you have a drawer which has
05:47got a little
05:48cubby space there and a space for your cup and coffee or whatever. A couple of USBs so you've got
05:53USB A and USB C down here and then you've got a drawer kind of I don't know what you
06:01call it a little
06:04then you've got another cubby here which is quite handy. It's kind of putting all your bits and pieces
06:10in and then down here you've got your 12 volt socket on the floor. Great thing about a EV van
06:16is that the
06:17floor is completely flat as you can see I've got my charging cables on the bottom there and if you
06:22look here you do have a decent sized glove box. You can see it's quite big because you can get
06:26a
06:27decent sized book in there and of course you've got your high vis and everything in there as well.
06:31So this is a really big space and there is loads of little cubbies to hide things.
06:40So up here you've got your SOS button and your lights of course but let's have a look at what
06:46happens
06:46when we turn it on. So of course it's going to be quite quiet because it is an EV. So
06:54you've got a
06:54temperature here, you've got which gear you're in over here, the factory ready, your miles per hour
07:00in the middle, any warning messages come up over here and then your speed goes up and down here.
07:05You can see how many miles you've got left on your charge over here and your total trip data across
07:10the
07:10bottom and how many miles the vehicle has done in total down there. So loads of information right in
07:15front of your face and it is really easy to see straight through the steering wheel too.
07:20You've got real buttons on the steering wheel, buttons for your cruise control here and buttons
07:24for your media on this side including what looks like a heated steering wheel button on there. So
07:29that's kind of handy, we do love a heated steering wheel. You've got some buttons over here for your
07:34drive mode, lane keep assist etc. All very very handy buttons. Then if we come across to the middle,
07:42I always love it when you've got real buttons so that's definitely very handy. You've got a nice
07:47toggle for up and down on your climate, you've got your recirculation, your air conditioning,
07:52all your heating buttons, really nice and simple to use. Parking brake there, auto hold is just a
07:59button to slap there and it is all very nice and easy, we like that a lot. This is just
08:04a little LED screen here.
08:07Now if we look on the infotainment display, it is nice and refreshingly simple. You've got what radio
08:13you're listening to in the middle there, any media information here and then you can connect to Android
08:18Auto and CarPlay there. Push the phone button and you get information like what you're connected to etc.
08:27Push the middle button, you've got climate. So again it's all very simple and very easy to use,
08:33nothing too stressful and the fact you've got the touch buttons when you're driving makes it much
08:39much simpler. Button there for your radio so you can just switch along what you want. There's a
08:43program guide for the different radio channels etc too and if we push on car we go into all the
08:48settings for the vehicle. So you've got your intelligent driving settings, automatic emergency
08:54braking for collision warnings, alarm sensitivity, speed limit reminders, all these kind of things. You can
09:01toggle them on and off in this menu. Lights, you can set up your light information on whether you want
09:08your continuous illumination etc. Door locks, rear side radar assistance you want that on. So all of
09:15these bits and pieces are in there. So it is a very simple system to use, not an awful lot
09:20to get your
09:21head around. Other thing I wanted to point out is your stalks. So on this side you've got your wipers
09:26and
09:26your lights and on this side you've just got one that switches between your drive mode or driving
09:33gear should I say. Nice and simple on there because you don't have to fiddle around down here trying
09:38to switch or select. So that is very simple. If you want to change your height of the steering wheel
09:45you can change it for rake but you can't change it for reach. You can't move it forwards and backwards.
09:51So it is literally an up and down. If you go down to the lowest setting from where I see
09:55it at five
09:56foot nine it does obstruct my view a little bit. So of course depending on how high you are
10:03I would suggest that you try one of these before you buy one just to make sure it does work
10:08for you.
10:10Right so you get in the frozen super van, plug yourself in, put on the brake, push the start stop
10:14button and it will just start up around you. I do like the feeling in here it does feel a
10:21bit more
10:21car like but it's nicely trimmed I think it's all quite hard wearing as well so it feels like it's
10:26going to last. To drive all you need to do then is push your indicator store your stalk down into
10:33drive
10:33and then just go. It's that simple. So actually getting in and driving this thing is remarkably easy
10:45even considering its size you obviously feel that size but your view around is actually really really good.
10:55You can see all around you with the massive mirrors and then you've got reversing cameras
11:02and the cameras are actually really really decent quality in here all showing up on this brilliant
11:08touchscreen in front of you and I find them really useful they pop on when you indicate as well
11:14which just makes maneuvering this thing really really easy and you know it is a bit of a barge it's
11:22quite large isn't it so you would expect it to be a little trickier and it's just not
11:31because it's an EV it's got fairly decent pickup and it's not too much and if anything when you're
11:38moving up onto the motorway it is a little bit sluggish which is surprising for an electric vehicle
11:44but again it is heavy it's two and a half tons and it is let's be honest vans are shaped
11:52like a brick
11:53aren't they they're not the most aero efficient of vehicles so you know that does make a difference
12:02however the one thing i would say about this and i don't you know i'll always try to be as
12:10positive
12:10as i can about everything but the steering in this just does lack a bit of response
12:18the steering wheel is not completely light or devoid of any um feel it's just
12:28not really predictable and i it's not like it's unsafe or anything it's just when you turn a wheel
12:38in a car that has the steering wheel linked to the axle via a steering column there's an exact science
12:47to
12:47it you know how much you need to turn the wheel for the car to turn in this it does
12:52feel disconnected
12:53and i mean that's pretty good because it is disconnected but it does feel it and that is
13:01slightly unfortunate because it does not give you the feedback you want as a driver again i think it's
13:07something you can absolutely get used to
13:13but i think it's something that as this technology grows and becomes more prevalent
13:20it's going to get better and better and better and the weighting of the steering is something that
13:26these guys have been working on for a very very long time um you know across the whole industry
13:33you drive a tesla cyber truck it doesn't feel so disconnected that's for sure
13:44but otherwise it's not a terrible turning circle in fact it's surprisingly good and again that's
13:52because of the disconnect what this does is allows cars and vans to be packaged slightly differently so
14:00the wheelbase isn't directly connected to where the steering wheel has to be and the steering column has to be
14:05which is an absolute bonus in terms of packaging design etc etc and it can give you more space
14:12to play with down with your legs and all that sort of thing so you can see the absolute benefits
14:19of this
14:24but again so maneuverability in this thing is actually quite good and i've already talked about
14:31how good the cameras are you do have wireless carplay and um android auto on here which again is super
14:38standard nowadays but not always a given it is useful that you also have your usb so you can charge
14:45everything
14:46when you're going when you're going i do dislike the lack of exposed cup holders if you want to put
14:52your
14:52cup in you do have to open the drawer and have it in there and then again there's only one
14:57so if you've
14:57got a crew in here um if you've got a couple of passengers they've got no edge of their cup
15:02but then
15:03they're not driving so they can hold it can't they
15:09last thing about this car this van then is the brakes as with some EVs they can be just a
15:15little bit grabby again it's something you get used to um when you are pushing your foot on the pedal
15:23you absolutely get used to it but sometimes it does feel a little bit jerky and a little bit grabby
15:30but other than that heated steering wheel is a bonus thank you very much Verizon i do
15:36enjoy this van and i love the interior so there are lots of things i really do like about this
15:44van
15:46five things i love about the brand new Verizon supervan number one it has to be the space in
15:53the back it's absolutely huge it's a very big van and it's very good at doing van things such as
15:58carrying stuff number two is the size of this side opening it's absolutely huge which means you can get
16:05a pallet straight in the side there which is fantastic number three if you look at these mirrors
16:11they're massive the view as you're driving this thing is absolutely brilliant you're sat really
16:16high up as you'd expect in a van but your view for maneuvering is brilliant now number four it has
16:23to
16:23be this interior because i think this interior looks brilliant with the orangey accents and the way it's
16:31all trimmed out i think it looks really really good and number five it has to be the real physical
16:38buttons for climate control which just make life much easier when you're driving especially if
16:44you've got gloves on so as promised just wanted to give you a quick highlight of who Verizon are
16:48now they are part of Geely which is China's largest vehicle manufacturer Geely are well known
16:57they build Polestar they build Volvos they build Lotus they also have their own brand now coming here in
17:04the UK so you can buy a Geely car now so Geely are absolutely huge and they have a great
17:10backup loads of
17:12dealers a really good network so Geely are an automotive powerhouse and Verizon is just their van
17:22their commercial kind of arm if you like so they know their their stuff when it comes to batteries
17:29and vehicles so they if you're buying one of these you're not just buying some unknown brand which is
17:34really really reassuring now if we look at the configurations of the Verizon SV if you get the standard
17:42which is length one height one and the 67 kilowatt hour battery then that's 45 grand you can choose
17:48an 83 kilowatt hour battery which is bigger that's 48 grand and the difference between batteries is an
17:5583 kilowatt hour battery will give you 234 miles whereas 67 will give you 188 miles if you jump to
18:03the
18:03one we've got today which is the length two height two it's obviously a much bigger van that 67 kilowatt
18:09hour
18:09battery gives you 214 miles of course that's in ideal circumstances that's wltp and if you pick the
18:18bigger battery then it's 51 grand and it's um still 214 miles i think that's probably a glitch is it
18:29yeah it doesn't change i think the website might be broken there um but anyway you've got your
18:35dimensions here uh the battery 83 kilowatts as we can see just try that one more time yeah it just
18:41doesn't
18:42change does it uh 30 minutes charge time 20 to 80 percent 214 miles max payload is one and a
18:49quarter
18:49tons length over five meters and your height and all that information is on the website too it tells
18:56you how much it weighs etc um six body color options styling you get the illuminated grille 16 inch wheels
19:04across the range really black foam faux leather and the screens are as standard in all versions
19:12uh you optional extras are the color options rear trailer system so whether you have a tow bar or not
19:19270 degree rear door hinge so you can get wider opening hinges uh window compartment uh partition single
19:27co-pilot seats you instead of having the two you can just option the one and vehicle to load you
19:31can add in
19:32as well so there's all the bits and pieces and as you can see if you get the 67 kilowatt
19:38hour battery l2 h2
19:39the one we've got today it's 48 000 pounds plus vat
19:45so it is time to conclude and whilst this is an extremely practical van it does have a half decent
19:54range
19:54200 miles on a very good day i think isn't too bad and will probably suit most use cases
20:04it does feel it as if it's slightly pinned back a bit by some of the things that actually
20:11make this stand out so i think the steering by wire is great i think it's going to be brilliant
20:18in
20:18some vehicles but in this it just doesn't feel quite right you don't necessarily feel the connection
20:23that you feel and you can tell because you know that's what it is you can tell it's not
20:29quite it's not quite giving you the right response that you need when you're when you're driving other
20:36than that it's extremely practical it is a good place to sit in inside the cab it feels good
20:43it's comfortable and it's a good drive so should you buy one if you're looking for a big practical
20:50van with this kind of range then absolutely it is a good van to buy it's got a decent range
20:56and there's
20:57quite a lot to like about it and i do love the styling the steering you can absolutely get used
21:03to it i think it just takes a bit of getting used to but other than that this is the
21:10start of the
21:11future tell me what you think of the styling in the comments below please do like and subscribe it
21:18really helps me to make more of these thank you very much for watching and i'll see you in the
21:21next one
