00:00When we talk about the head coaches in hockey,
00:02it's one of those sports where you can be one of the best coaches in the NHL
00:06and end up coaching six, seven, eight, nine teams, it feels like,
00:10because it's the one sport that's like, set up my system,
00:13I'll last two or three years, I'll burn out on these guys,
00:16and I'll be on my way.
00:17Peter Laviolette, I love him.
00:18Stanley Cup champion in Philadelphia,
00:20brought the Flyers to the Stanley Cup in 2010,
00:23but eventually he had to move on as well.
00:25But now, Laviolette finding himself out there in L.A.,
00:28the next Kings coach, great coaches.
00:31You only get a couple years in the NHL before they tune you out.
00:34He's on his way.
00:35Now he's in L.A.
00:37Yeah, well, that's good.
00:39I mean, the problem is, once again, L.A.,
00:42you've got to have guys that can find the back of the net
00:46when it matters the most.
00:47So hopefully he'll be able to scheme up something going on out there.
00:52I do like the direction the Kings are going,
00:54but, you know, that West has got some teams, Donnie,
00:57that can absolutely win some Stanley Cups moving forward,
01:01and none of them happen to be in Canada, by the way.
01:04Ah, none in Canada.
01:05Let's hear from Lavi.
01:06Let's see some of those old clips from Lavi here.
01:08Bring them up.
01:09Yep.
01:09...one for the opposition.
01:12Do you know why, Hartsey?
01:14Because it's about as f***ing casual as it gets.
01:17As casual as it gets.
01:19In Boston, we said,
01:21all right, got mixed in the schedule.
01:23Let's turn the page.
01:25Somebody tell me,
01:26what the f*** is the difference now?
01:29What's the problem now?
01:34I want to see people rip their heart out of their f***ing chest this period.
01:37And if you don't,
01:38you're probably not going to like your ice time.
01:41Take your first shift.
01:42You'll get it.
01:43Earn the second one.
01:44I'm not putting up with it.
01:45It's too much horse s***.
01:47It's too much.
01:49Don't allow it.
01:50D-zone coverage, soft down low.
01:52Out to the points, casual strides.
01:55We don't want to block a shot.
01:56Because it hurts.
02:00One game, Boston.
02:01All right, let's move on.
02:03Tonight, unacceptable.
02:04Not going to happen.
02:05We're way better than what we just showed.
02:08Every guy in here knows it.
02:09And you should not accept it.
02:11Don't.
02:12You've got 20 minutes.
02:13You win a period.
02:13You win a game.
02:14We move on.
02:15But you need to dig in right now.
02:17Every guy.
02:18Enough is enough.
02:19Start playing with some jam in here.
02:20Let's go.
02:21Yeah.
02:22Play with some jam in there, Joe.
02:24That's the reason.
02:24Like, I love Lobby out in Philadelphia.
02:26We love that guy.
02:27But eventually, in the locker room, we saw some of the faces.
02:29Like, this guy's yelling at me again.
02:31Like, eventually, it doesn't get through to these guys, Joe.
02:34No, it doesn't.
02:35And that's a different kind of generation of coach, right, Donnie?
02:39Like, he's a guy that, if you've got the right players, you're going to love them.
02:44You're going to love them.
02:45You're going to hate them.
02:45But he is going to motivate you to run through brick walls.
02:49But that could also go terribly sideways there, Donnie, without the right team.
