00:20One of the most prominent music shows recently is the music play I picked, but this year
00:26is about the Northern Irish rap group Neekat, a group of Republican rappers who have caused
00:30notoriety due to their lyrics that aren't that sympathetic to the British and that their
00:35verses are in the Irish language. Unlike the other biophics mentioned, this film doesn't
00:39have big names or up-and-coming actors taking the roles of the rap group, but they play
00:43themselves in a manner similar to the Beatles movies from the 60s, but have more druggies.
00:47Set during the late 2010s, the film is a fictionalised retelling of the group's origins as young
00:51people living in Belfast in the aftermath of the Trouble, and having to deal with the
00:54lingering issues still prevalent. And ALC's father, played by Michael Fassbender, is a
00:58former IRA member, who is still on the run from the authorities. Liam has repeated run-ins
01:02with the police and a confusing relationship with a Protestant girl, and JJ is having a
01:06lot to lead a double life as the group's DJ and is a teacher at an Irish language school
01:09whose girlfriend is campaigned to get the Irish language recognised by the Northern Irish
01:13government. The film's themes of language and cultural identity is strong in this film,
01:17with the morals of the film being about how it's important to remember what came before,
01:21but also trying to move on and create a new heritage. We see that through the group's
01:25personal struggles, often with them clashing with the police, distant Republican groups,
01:29and their own personal family issues as well, which has all played out well. Also, this film
01:33is funny. I didn't want to bury the lead on this, but while the film is filled with a lot
01:37of weighty themes and ideas, it still finds times to be funny and creative so it isn't
01:43all white with a lot of issues. Again, like the aforementioned Beatles films, where they often went into
01:47surreal vignettes, this film has a chaotic and darkly fun comedic energy that goes down great
01:52with the crowd, especially one surprising cameo. My one complaint is that the ending is a bit abrupt,
01:57with one sequence which is supposed to be tense and not succeeding in that area because, well,
02:03the people involved are alive and playing themselves in the film.
02:06Overall, an eco-app is a fun and energetic good time at the movies and a fun little antidote to
02:11those
02:11who might go on tired of the Formula 8 Whale-Pick movie. Go seek this out.
02:40From revenge director Kolein Fargate comes The Substance, a body horror film about Elizabeth
02:47a sparkle a celebrity fitness instructor played by demi moore who is given the sack when she hits
02:5250. desperate to reclaim her fame she decides to take the titular drug known as the substance
02:59which grows a younger version of herself called sue played by margaret cayley who is both linked
03:06to her but also very independent. right from the get-go i could tell this film was going to be
03:11great. the film owns a lot to other body horror directors like david kronenberg or brian nusner
03:16with its sensibilities leaning towards nusner but with an added element of new french extremity and
03:22dorian gray thrown in for good measure. they run for these themes of body dysmorphia aging and sexism
03:28rather well. the makeup effects also look great in this. i don't want to spoil what they are or how
03:34they're employed in the context of the film but it's a magnificent feat and i hope the makeup team get
03:39their flowers during awards season. the direction of this film is on point as well. fargeat's framing
03:46of the human body is creepy and disturbing but lots of uncomfortable close-ups and puts the film
03:51right up in your face making it hard not to look away especially in the body horror sequences.
03:56the film is also visually strong with little dialogue it carries the film and tells the story
04:00in a clear fashion and on a cinematography front everything feels paradoxically clean but also
04:06dirty at the same time with lots of oversaturated dark colors being used to convey a grimy but glamorous
04:12feel to them. on the performance side it's also strong in that department. in a supporting turn
04:17dennis quaid is an enjoyable presence as a slimy tv exec who brings a heightened sense of
04:22derangement but it's demi moore and margaret cayley who are the performers who nail this film.
04:28their performances complement each other more managing to strike a fine balance between playing
04:32straight and going for broke and quaidy doing the more show-offy parts capturing a useful essence
04:38but having an air of creepiness to it. the substance is one of my favorite films of the year
04:42and you should definitely check it out it's wild and over the top but still a great examination on
04:47the themes of fame and self-image
04:55that's it. hello i'm jonathan and baggy siapa pun yang menonton dari indonesia atao berbikara bahasa
05:10thurspot math jika ada namayang mungking sayasala yukapkan dalam yulasan ini
05:34from timo chahanto a big name in action and international film circles on the for delving
05:39into the action genre of films like night come for us and big four and it's horror films like the
05:43main the devil take you series or his segments in the vhs movies
05:52and then next year he's going to be directing the next nobody film with bob omenkirk comes the
05:56shadow strays an action film about a group of clandestine assassins called the shadows
06:00when a member of the sit being called made 13 messes up during a mission she is put on the
06:05bench
06:05but gets involved in a conspiracy involved in local jakatan criminals and things spiral out from there
06:12i wasn't familiar with chahanto's action films i've seen most of his horror movies and they're
06:17and they're good and the only actual film i've seen of his is comedy the big four which is also
06:21good
06:22and i can happily report this film is great right from the get-go this film showcases a type of
06:26action you're going to see visceral intense and bloody i can't show you any clips from the film
06:31mostly because i could get content id but also this film is very very violent jahanto's skill as a
06:38horror movie director works well here in the actions it is gory but not over the top and that
06:42that doesn't create a tonal imbalance with the film and there's a motion felt with every
06:47punch and kick and each character deals out it's really good on the performance side of things
06:52aurora ribeiro gives a damn good performance here she gives an intense and raw element in the action
06:57moments but combines it with an element of innocence more in the lost sense but barely holding on to it
07:02opposite her is hanam malasam as well who is in the film as much and if there is anything to
07:09criticize in this film it's that there isn't a lot of the shadow strays in the film and they only
07:12make
07:13spread appearances throughout the film but those moments are important as it ties into the film's
07:17fiends and is a good bit of characterization from malasam's character the film also has a lot of
07:22fiends and they have also shown up in jahanto's other works stuff like found family and being on
07:27margins that characterizes previous works shows up here and is played to good effect here the film is a
07:33dark story but how it shows how connecting with people can come together and help each other stops it from
07:38going totally bleak and giving the film moments of calm before things get brutal the shadow strays
07:43is a solid action of film one of the best of the year with a million set pieces and performances
07:46throughout the film is currently streaming on netflix you should do yourself a service and check it out
08:09in jihongo or hanasuo suncho shano minasamu ni kotoba no ayamami ni sweet
08:17owabi mushi aiju maso
08:26mononoke not to be confused with the hayo inazaki film was an anime series that was a spin-off of
08:31ayakashi
08:32samurai tales the main premise of the show was about when a serious medicine seller gets himself into various
08:38supernatural encounters with mononoke the type of ayakashi that linger in the human world i love
08:43the series for its dark and eerie atmosphere and the beautiful and complimentary animation but i was
08:49excited for the movie and i can proudly say that mononoke the movie phantom in the rain is well worth
08:53the wait this time the film sees the medicine seller having to deal with the goings-on and oku for
08:59those
09:00of you who don't know your japanese history and have to do a quick google halfway through for the movie
09:04and oku was an area in the ido castle where one related to the shogun lived in the film there's
09:10something serious going on but may or may not have connections to the disappearance of the concubine
09:14now if you know the inner workings of an oku then you know that it didn't allow male adults in
09:18so
09:18most of this film is actually focused on two new characters asa and kame as they deal with the inner
09:24workings of the oku now this would seem like a cop-out not having the medicine seller be the main
09:28focus but i
09:29liked it because some of the best stories from the show mainly had other characters be the main focus and
09:34the
09:34medicine seller be an observer who was to solve the supernatural issue think of the shashiki or
09:40warashari or nobara ball arcs and you can see how this film goes asa and kami here are compelling
09:46and seeing them deal both with the essential office politics and the supernatural elements
09:51work as well reminded me of stuff like black narcissists or that sydney sweeney nun movie immaculate
09:56that came out earlier this year as i mentioned those arcs on the show the film does bore those arcs
10:00themes and observations about women's society as well sure asa and kami are free to fulfill their
10:05roles and the oku but they're still contained within one building and have to make sacrifice
10:09to a shogun who we don't see much in the film it's a fascinating theme that connects the film
10:13to the show the whole elements here are strongly used effectively the film carries the series eerie
10:17and creepy atmosphere but with a bit more fast pace than the show lots of rabbits editing while it
10:22would be a bit disoriented it still works to keep moving the film forward but still making it very
10:27deliberately odd and unnerving now this is an anime film how's the animation it's great like a lot
10:33of film continuation of shows the animation looks a bit upgrade while the animation the show was
10:37great film has a more wider scale color color of the film is a bit more brighter and vibrant which
10:42creates a great contrast of the horror aspects of the film but also makes it a little bit darker
10:47but there's an unnatural element to it the film character designs are also good making them to
10:51strike a fine line between what you'd call a recognizable anime style with a p.re painting look
10:55praised the director kenji nakamura who also directed the anime series and here brings the full style
11:00of the show to the film with a bigger grander style monocaba movie phantom in the rain is a
11:05vibrantly creepy film the film brings the show's iconic style and animation back and goals all in
11:10the grander scope that a film would allow but a tv show would not not even though there are some
11:16elements
11:16i kind of feel like are left hanging probably because this is the first part of a film trilogy so
11:22that
11:22obviously will be followed up in two sequels you can watch the film if you want to fan because it's
11:28a standalone film and the show as well both are currently streaming on netflix at the time of
11:32recording and i fall hardly recommend you watch it
11:59the film review show where i view recent films and i also make short films like correspondence which
