00:00What do you make of that? Trump's latest outburst. We've seen something similar like this before.
00:04But also the administration has got a bit of a long running battle, I want to call it, with the
00:08so-called crooked media.
00:09And this is just the latest in that, it seems.
00:11Yeah, watching that clip, I mean, it's clearly someone who is at the end of their tether.
00:17But that's what presidents, that's the job. You know, you're going to be asked questions that you don't want to
00:23answer.
00:24And I think this showed how woefully unprepared he is for any kind of vaguely hardball interview, because as we
00:32know, he has, you know, made it so that the White House press pool is now kind of filled with
00:38media outlets that are sympathetic to him and almost, I'm going to say it was sycophantic.
00:44So it's a bit childlike, I think, to storm out of an interview in this way.
00:49I think it sort of speaks to a lack of intelligence pertaining to an inability to think on your feet.
00:55You know, you're being faced with these hard questions. You've got such a position of power.
01:00You must be expecting them. And you must have previously worked with your media team and looked at all the
01:07different questions that you might be asked.
01:09You know, you should be prepared for this kind of thing.
01:11So obviously he's being asked about the California primary elections.
01:15He said there was vote rigging and Welker, the journalist, she asked him for evidence and he said his evidence
01:23was, all I have to do is look and I listen.
01:25And she rightly said she's doing her job. You know, she rightly said that's not evidence.
01:30And I think one of the bigger issues here is that claims of vote rigging have real life consequences.
01:36He can't just say something and not expect his very galvanised fan base and voter base to not react to
01:45it.
01:45We saw the January the 6th insurrection that had been directly linked to things that he had said about elections
01:53being stolen and elections being rigged.
01:55So I think if you've got a fan base and a voter base who go on their feelings as opposed
02:01to facts, what you say has real life consequences.
02:04So, you know, I feel that's quite sort of damaging for democracy, you know, to see the president kind of
02:09getting so head up, accusing the media of bias because it's a democracy.
02:15And in a democracy, a free press is one of the fundamental cornerstones of a democracy.
02:21But he seems very angry. He seems to forget, you know, that this is a democracy and that, you know,
02:26these journalists, they can ask what they want.
02:28So over the years, though, Trump has accused such a wide range of media organisations of bias.
02:35CNN, The New York Times, Washington Post, NBC, ABC, The Wall Street Journal.
02:40So he has referred to them collectively.
02:42We all know the term as the fake news media and it's always when their coverage towards him is negative.
02:49So, I mean, this is just in keeping with the pan.
