Transcript
00:00And our top focus of this hour is on the tensions that prevail in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
00:05Killer Pakistan army is Pakistan-occupied Kashmir bloodbath.
00:08So Pakistan forces have killed 27 Kashmiris in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
00:14where the protesters are protesting against the Pakistani government
00:17and it's a protestors face off with the Pakistani army in a POK
00:21where 27 Kashmiris have been killed.
00:24Clear bloodbath in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
00:27where these protests are being held against the Pakistan regime
00:31and Asim Munir terrorist slogans are being raised by these protesters.
00:36These are the visuals.
00:37The tensions prevail in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
00:40where 27 Kashmiris have been killed by the Pakistani army.
00:44ISI terrorist slogans are also being raised by these protesters.
00:48So from London to POK, protests are being held against the Pakistani army.
00:53So the masks are finally coming off in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
00:56for decades Islamabad lectured the world on Kashmir.
01:00For decades Pakistan claimed to be the voice of Kashmiris.
01:03But now these pictures show the real face of Pakistan.
01:06The people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir are asking a simple question.
01:10If Pakistan cares so much about Kashmir, why are Kashmiris protesting against Pakistan?
01:14These are the kind of visuals emerging from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
01:17Clear anger among the Pakistan-occupied Kashmiris against the Pakistan government.
01:22From Muzaffarabad to other parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir protests are ongoing.
01:28Shutdowns have turned violent.
01:29Demonstrators are clashing with the Pakistani security forces.
01:32In fact, we already told you how 27 Kashmiris have been killed.
01:36It's literally a bloodbath in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
01:40The anger is not just about inflation and electricity bills or subsidies anymore.
01:44It is about representation, rights and Islamabad's control over the region.
01:50And Pakistan Army has said that, in fact, Pakistan Army has killed 27 Kashmiris in these protests.
01:58And the protests are only rising.
02:01And in fact, their slogans are being raised against Asim Muneer, calling Asim Muneer a terrorist.
02:06So, those kind of slogans are being raised.
02:08You can see how there are several.
02:10What we are learning is that over 200 protesters have been injured.
02:15You can see the kind of firing that is being done over the locals, the protesters.
02:20You can see how this man is running from the bullets.
02:22But so far, what we are learning is that 27 protesters, 27 protesting Kashmiris have been killed.
02:29And that is how you silent dissent.
02:33That is Pakistan's way of silencing dissent.
02:37You can clearly see that the nation that keeps on lecturing the world about the rights of Kashmiris
02:41is itself killing Kashmiris.
02:44For what?
02:44For protesting against the government.
02:47That is how they are silencing the Kashmiris living in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
03:13And these slogans are being raised against the Pakistani government, against Asim Muneer,
03:18the Pakistan army chief, and they are calling them terrorists.
03:23And what we are learning is that 27 protesters, 27 Kashmiris have been killed.
03:28And over 200 people have been injured.
03:32And what are these protests for?
03:34These protests are for demanding their rights.
03:36These people are demanding their rights.
03:38They want to get rid of the Islamabad control.
03:41They are demanding their rights.
03:42And what are they getting in return?
03:43They are getting in return, they are getting bullets and deaths.
03:47That is what they are getting from the Pakistani army, from the Pakistani regime.
03:51The people, the same people who lecture others on the rights of Kashmiris
03:55are the ones behind the killing of 27 protesters.
03:58And this is how they are silencing the dissent.
04:01My colleague Pooja Shali is now joining us with more details on this.
04:05Pooja, Pakistan keeps on lecturing other countries about the rights of Kashmiris
04:09and how they are concerned about Kashmiris.
04:11But what are they themselves doing?
04:13We are learning that 27 protesters have been killed in this protest
04:16against the Pakistan government.
04:20This is absolutely a massacre by Pakistan's military.
04:23And it comes at a time when Pakistan loves to proclaim to the world
04:27that this is Azad Kashmir.
04:29It's a free Kashmir, it claims.
04:31But really what the people on the ground in Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir,
04:35where Muzaffarabad is the epicenter, are demanding freedom.
04:39From Pakistan, from military, they are basically asking for their democratic rights.
04:44But look at the kind of crackdown that we are witnessing.
04:4727 people reportedly have been shot dead, killed.
04:51Many have been arrested as well.
04:53Men and women are on the streets.
04:54Now, this is the Joint Action Awami Committee that is leading these protests.
04:59There was a 9th June march that was scheduled.
05:02They've put forth a charter.
05:03They've asked for their justified rights as well.
05:06But this is a reflection of what Pakistan had been trying to brush under the carpet for decades,
05:11calling the area they have occupied as something which has all the resources.
05:16But the fact is, this is a resource-rich area, whether it's Gilgit-Baltistan,
05:21whether it's Muzaffarabad and other parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
05:24Pakistan was using these resources but not delivering it to the people on the ground.
05:28Now, contrast this with Kashmir, where we have seen the changes, the development,
05:34the peace that has come in.
05:35And fingers crossed, that's how it should remain in our Kashmir.
05:39But in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, we are realizing how people are coming forth on the streets.
05:43And Anjali, we must tell the viewer, it is not at all easy for these protesters to come forth,
05:49for the Awami Action Committee to be able to put forth these protests,
05:53because the kind of crackdown that has happened in the past, it hasn't come in public domain.
05:58It's only because of now some videos leaking through social media, internet.
06:02And that is one of the reasons the videos are so blurry,
06:05because it's so difficult to get information out from the ground.
06:07But this is a reflection of the situation on the ground.
06:11People are finally rising against incompetence, repression by Pakistan military and the government.
06:16And this will continue.
06:17And I want to add, this is not just Muzaffarabad.
06:19Gilgit, Baltistan and other areas also are reporting a similar kind of protest.
06:25And the fact that Kashmiris in London have joined them
06:29to organize that protest against Pakistan military,
06:32that is reflective of perhaps the global phenomenon.
06:35Right.
06:37All right, Pooja, do stay with us.
06:38So these are the visuals from the so-called Azad Kashmir,
06:41that Pakistan calls it Azad Kashmir.
06:43But after all, it does not seem to be so Azad,
06:46because these visuals depict the story,
06:48depict what's going on actually on the ground.
06:50The people raising their voices against the Pakistani government,
06:53and what are they getting in return?
06:54It's bullets.
06:55And 27 Kashmiris have been killed so far.
06:58Over 200 Kashmiris have been injured in these protests.
07:01India Today Global's Pranay Padeh is also joining us with more details on this.
07:04Pranay, what are the demands that are being raised by these protesters,
07:08which are not being fulfilled by the Pakistani government?
07:12Anjali, this is the irony that, you know, Pakistan government,
07:15Pakistan military is not leaving this area,
07:18neither Azad nor Kashmir,
07:19because this entire thing started with a demographic change in the region,
07:24because a large number of people from the Pakistani Punjab
07:27have been brought in and they were settled in that area.
07:30And in fact, the people of POK, they feel threatened,
07:35they are demanding that, you know, their rights should be protected.
07:40And in fact, two years ago, this entire movement started,
07:42the Pakistani joint, this POK, Joint Awami Action Committee,
07:46put forth the demand of the prices of wheat flour,
07:51the prices of electricity in the region,
07:53that they shouldn't be charged higher as compared to the other areas.
07:57Their natural resources should not be exploited and they should not be penalized.
08:02Rather, they were seeking that their educational institution
08:06should have, you know, reservation for their children, for their people.
08:12And in fact, there was an agreement,
08:14but Pakistan government and military has betrayed people of POK.
08:19This is an illegally occupied territory of India.
08:22And Pakistan is holding this territory and in fact now ill-treating people.
08:26And in fact, as Pooja was mentioning,
08:28not only it is, this is not restricted to POK only.
08:32If you see the area of Gilgit, Baltistan as well,
08:35and even within POK, if you see,
08:37the Dadyal has become an epicenter of this entire protest
08:41that how people are giving a pushback to Pakistan military,
08:45Pakistan rangers after the firing incident,
08:47because people have pushed back Pakistani military,
08:50Pakistani rangers after the firing incident towards Rawalakot,
08:53and in fact in Sudhanoti, in Tattapani,
08:56and in various areas of POK,
08:58now people are coming on street in large numbers.
09:02They are, you know, they are raising slogans,
09:05they are protesting,
09:06and in fact, there are, you know,
09:08there are shelling of the tear gas as well in various areas
09:12to contain and curb these protests.
09:15So Pakistan government, Pakistan military is using heavy hen
09:18to contain these protests.
09:21Absolutely, Pranay.
09:22Pranay, do stay with us.
