00:00As we are talking, External Affairs Ministry has put out a statement.
00:03I want to immediately read out what MEA has said and I'll come back to you, sir.
00:07We continue to see this context, a pattern of fake news and videos emanating from Pakistan.
00:12It is a desperate attempt by Pakistan to cover up its own failings
00:16and deflect attention away from human rights abuses.
00:19There are reports of severe police brutality in POJK,
00:22in which several protesters have been killed, many injured.
00:25We hope the international community will hold Pakistan accountable
00:28for its misdeeds and abuses.
00:30That's the big statement that has come in.
00:32Lieutenant General Dillon, like we were discussing,
00:34MEA has responded, India has put out a statement.
00:37First, Randeer Jaiswal is saying this.
00:41A pattern of fake news and videos emanating from Pakistan.
00:46It is a desperate attempt by Pakistan to cover up its own failings
00:51and deflect attention away from its human rights abuses.
00:55There are reports of police brutality, which you would have seen.
01:00There are several reports in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,
01:04in which several people have been killed.
01:06There are several more who have been injured.
01:09We hope the international community will hold Pakistan accountable
01:12for its misdeeds and its abuses.
01:16All right, Lieutenant General Dillon, this is what the MEA has said,
01:20an important statement.
01:21And do you think this is the crux of the matter?
01:24Kashmir, our Indian government, has always allowed,
01:26whether it's been journalists, activists, even separatists,
01:29to come to Delhi, hold seminars and organizations.
01:31But look at where the real brutality was happening in POJK
01:35and activists and journalists don't even have proper access to there.
01:38So do you think this should now be the benchmark
01:40to really go to the global diaspora and audience
01:43and tell them who was really the villain in all of this?
01:49Remember, like I said, and good thing that MEA has come out
01:52with a statement, the way they have said, they've done.
01:56Because I am very clear, this needs to be called out.
01:59Although the tone of the MEA spokesperson was very, very mild,
02:03I would like it to be much harsher, much stronger, much aggressive
02:08and much more penetrative.
02:10And it should be spoken not only from our place of speaking,
02:15but from the international platform,
02:17wherever we or our extended family, including the diaspora,
02:22gets a chance to take out mask of the face of Pakistan
02:26and tell the world that here is a country
02:29which is expert in doublespeak.
02:31They are the terrorists, they are terrorizing their own people,
02:34they spread terror across the world.
02:36And they're killing in a sense
02:38and utter abuse of human rights.
02:40I think this needs to be told very clearly,
02:43very aggressively, very sharply
02:44and across the world on all platforms, wherever we can.
02:48Sir, I liked your point.
02:50Do you want to just elaborate that a little bit more?
02:52Why do you believe that we could have been slightly more point blank
02:57when it came to the statement,
02:59especially when there's visual evidence against Pakistan?
03:03The way Pakistan has been propagating false narratives,
03:07false propaganda against India on all fronts,
03:11on all fronts, some of the issues which are not even related to Pakistan,
03:16there are domestic, internal issues.
03:18If Pakistan has been doing it,
03:21I am a firm believer,
03:22whenever you are in a business like this,
03:25make it so expensive for the other party,
03:28that they will stop the money.
03:30They will leave the money and leave it.
03:32We need to make it expensive,
03:33we need to make it hurtful,
03:35and we need to hit where it hurts the most.
03:38Well, Sir, and I also believe,
03:40because what you've said is so correct,
03:41that Pakistan was promoting what was clearly false
03:44when it came to Kashmir, when it came to Srinagar.
03:47But why shouldn't India push forth what is real,
03:50what is on evidence in POJK?
03:53Because we are only pushing ahead
03:54what the global audience really needs to see.
03:56Appreciate you joining us.
03:57Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon,
03:58he served as a Chinarko commander,
04:00he's seen very closely what Pakistan has done in Kashmir,
04:03and how our soldiers have consistently for years,
04:06sacrificing their own life,
04:07have been able to keep terrorism at bay,
04:10and we've seen the changes now.
04:11Appreciate you joining us.
