President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on June 9, 2026 leads the commissioning of BRP Rajah Lakandula (PS-21), the country's second offshore patrol vessel (OPV) which is expected to boost the Philippine Navy's capability to conduct more patrols in the West Philippine Sea. The President, joined by Armed Forces chief Romeo Brawner Jr., graced the 128th Philippine Navy anniversary celebration at the Philippine Navy headquarters in Manila. The BRP Rajah Lakandula, the sister ship of the first OPV, BRP Rajah Sulayman (PS-20), which was commissioned last February, arrived at the Naval Operating Base Subic in Zambales on May 8.
