Transcript
00:00Pierstain Castle is a 14th-century gothic castle, tucked away in the Posazavi region
00:05of central Bohemia in the Czech Republic.
00:08It's also one of the most recognizable fortresses in Warhorse Studio's beloved historical RPG,
00:14Kingdom Come Deliverance, where it serves as a home base for protagonist Henry while
00:19the story unfolds around Raté.
00:20The real-life castle has changed hands countless times over its 675-year history, and survived
00:28plenty of hardship along the way.
00:29Including a devastating fire in the 15th century, peasant revolts in the 17th century and centuries
00:35of neglect.
00:36But it still stands, weathered as it is, in defiance of the decaying effects of centuries
00:41gone by.
00:42Serious preservation work kicked off in 2025, funded through private donations, local parishes
00:47and European government support, with organizers focusing on restoring the castle's iconic
00:53bell tower after it reportedly fell into critical condition.
00:56Now, Warhorse Studios has announced it's contributing more than $65,000 toward the restoration effort,
01:04thanks to proceeds from a recent steam sale.
01:07The studio said,
01:08Thanks to you, our incredible community, we've donated over $65,000 towards the preservation
01:13of Pirxstein Castle.
01:15You made this possible, from both Warhorse and Pirxstein, thank you.
01:19I think Henry would be pretty proud of that.
01:21We'll see you next time.
