Two crew members were killed after a US-registered Gulfstream G200 executive jet crashed while attempting an emergency landing at La Romana International Airport in the Dominican Republic.
The aircraft, bound for Austin, Texas, reportedly declared an emergency due to mechanical issues about 16 nautical miles southwest of La Romana before turning back. The jet crashed during the landing attempt and caught fire.
No passengers were on board. Dominican aviation authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
