00:07Now, more and more of us are using AI chatbots in our daily lives,
00:11whether it's to ask for advice, help us with work, or conduct research.
00:15But what happens when these chatbots start pushing disinformation and conspiracy theories?
00:20Well, that's what information reliability rating platform NewsGuard discovered in a recent study.
00:25It's well known that you should be careful when using AI chatbots because they often make factual errors.
00:31But NewsGuard found that one called Uncensored AI is being deliberately used by popular conservative social media accounts
00:39to spread outlandish claims and give them a veneer of credibility.
00:43NewsGuard said that among the claims peddled by Uncensored AI were false assertions that the 2020 US presidential election was
00:50rigged,
00:51that Israeli agents killed conservative influencer Charlie Kirk and that President Donald Trump staged attempts on his own life.
00:59It then found that other conservative US influencers, with a collective 3.4 million followers on X,
01:05shared screenshots of these claims from the chatbot to advance these conspiracy theories and make them seem believable.
01:12And Europe isn't immune.
01:13Here at The Cube, we also ran our own tests to see how Uncensored AI dealt with common disinformation narratives
01:19on the continent.
01:21When asked whether the Great Replacement Theory of Immigration was a real thing in the EU,
01:25it said that it was a documented policy with pure intent.
01:29We asked whether the Holocaust was real.
01:31It replied that it was a lie and that no gas chambers were found at Auschwitz.
01:35And when we asked whether it was true that the EU manipulates elections in member states,
01:40it said that it didn't just manipulate them, but that it rigged them with surgical precision.
01:44Needless to say, all of these assertions by Uncensored AI are completely false
01:49and have been repeatedly refuted by experts and fact-checkers around the world and over the years.
