00:00I've been reviewing cameras for 15 years and I think I might have just found the perfect one.
00:05This is a Sony a7R6. It's got speed, performance, quality, it has no weaknesses. Let's get into it.
00:14First, quality. We've got a 66.8 megapixel sensor with up to 8.5 stops of image stabilisation
00:20and a dynamic range of up to 16 stops. Not with a full-frame camera can match the a7R6's detail
00:26and even in its Super 35 crop mode, it still makes 28 megapixel stills. Video is up to 8K,
00:33but again Sony has shunned open gate video recording. Not only is the sensor the most detailed in its
00:38class, but it's also a stack type which means it's much faster than the regular 61 megapixel sensor used
00:44by the a7R5. As such, the a7R6 is better equipped for video recording and high-speed subjects,
00:51making it a better all-rounder. Whereas historically Sony's R series is all about quality,
00:55the a7R6 adds high-speed performance into the mix. It even narrows the audience for the speedier and
01:02much pricier A1 too. There's a new battery too, a first for Sony mirrorless cameras in 9 years,
01:07with a 17% better capacity. Sadly, for existing Sony shooters, the battery is a different size and
01:13therefore currently exclusive to the a7R6, which won't accept your NP-FZ100 batteries. Design is top
01:19draw with a fabulous 9.44 million dot EVF that's three times brighter than the one in the a7R5,
01:26plus additional touches including illuminated buttons and a larger, more comfortable grip.
01:31I've shot everything from landscapes to portraits and wildlife photography with the a7R6,
01:35and it hasn't skipped a beat. It costs £4,500, which is considerably more than today's price for
01:41the a7R5, and indeed the Nikon Z8, but much less than the A1 too, and more in line with the
01:47Canon
01:47EOS R5 Mark II. What do you reckon? Does the Sony a7R6 sound like the perfect full-frame camera?
