00:00The Embry Talents Cup, everyone wants the win.
00:02Crazy gang of beaten the Culture Club.
00:06Gerrard!
00:07Oh, yes!
00:09Oh, the story, the Embry Cup continues.
00:12There's a Red Sky United over Wadden.
00:14He's saving!
00:15A great history!
00:17What a goal!
00:18Right for the scorer!
00:20It's D.L. Trouffer!
00:21No!
00:22Oh, no, no!
00:24One of the great quick shots.
00:26All tight.
00:27Good clock!
00:28Well done!
00:28What a fantastic round!
00:31And we've got Red Nantes Cup on.
00:33Roger Good!
00:35This is the moment of joy that all professional footballers hope for.
00:39A moment of treasure for the first time in the Palace are winners!
00:46FA Cup final day 2026 and no doubting this year's colour code
00:50as Chelsea's royal hue took on the lighter sky blue shade of Manchester City.
00:56For Pep Guardiola's men, a record fourth successive final appearance,
01:00as they look to set aside Wembley disappointment the past two seasons
01:03and complete the second leg of what might yet be a domestic treble.
01:08It has been a season of turmoil for Chelsea however, with the club world champions suffering dismal
01:13league form of late.
01:15Could interim boss Callum McFarlane inspire an upset to secure European football and become
01:20the third Chelsea caretaker manager to lift the famous trophy?
01:24So plenty at stake here at Wembley.
01:27Reaction and analysis to come first, let's get straight to the action and join our commentary
01:31team of Alan Shearer and Guy Mowbray.
01:34We're getting set for a traditional 3pm start for the 145th FA Cup final.
01:42The 20th at the new Wembley and of those 20, 16 have featured one of Chelsea and Manchester City.
01:50This is the 10th in a row that has and a first time together in the final.
01:57What isn't a first is Chelsea being led out by someone in interim or caretaker charge.
02:02Callum McFarlane follows Gus Hiddink a winner in 2009 and Roberto Di Matteo victorious three years later.
02:10Let's take a look then at the line-ups.
02:13Chelsea have Robert Sanchez back in goal, he missed last week's draw at Liverpool due to concussion protocols.
02:19Levi Colwell starts the second game in a row having been out all season until a fortnight ago.
02:24Rhys James looks set to start in midfield with the width coming from Malogusto and Mark Cucurea.
02:31And all that allows Enzo Fernandes to play his game higher up the field.
02:34Up there with Cole Palmer against his first club.
02:38And leading scorer, João Pedro. 20 scores this season.
02:43For City, James Trafford has been the cup keeper all season and he continues in the role.
02:48Adyukadir Kusenov becomes the first player from Uzbekistan to play in the cup final.
02:53Rodri's back having missed the last four games and a good chunk of another season in general.
02:58And with Omar Mahmous staying in the team, he's scored in the last two games.
03:03Rayan Shirky has to be content with a place on the bench.
03:08Manchester City start as favourites, but they know possibly more than most clubs that the FA Cup final has for
03:14decades often delivered the unexpected.
03:17The only certainty today is that the ribbons on the trophy will be a shade of blue.
03:24That's Semenyo.
03:27And they're forced to back away.
03:29And Semenyo gets it all the way through.
03:32Haaland not near it.
03:34No one got the perfect man to ask.
03:35Should a number nine have been near it?
03:37The answer to that is an emphatic yes.
03:40He's done his job Semenyo.
03:42He's put the ball into such a dangerous area.
03:45Someone has to try and get on the end of that or be closer to that.
03:48Two FA Cups.
03:50One of the League Cups.
03:51Only Sir Alex Ferguson won both of England's major domestic cup competitions three and more times.
03:59Can't go together in the same breath those two now.
04:06Not a shot on the ball but recovered to find James.
04:09Now Melo Gusto to deliver a cross that was Pucurea bound and needed the intervention of Matthias Nunes.
04:16Yeah, really good player from Chelsea.
04:18They switch it and they get it out wide as quick as they can.
04:22Gusto makes that run down the right.
04:24And all he's got to do is try and whip it in like he did there
04:27and hope that someone's going to get on the end of it.
04:29But again a good ball comes into the box and there's no one there.
04:41Doku to beat two again.
04:44Couldn't do it.
04:45Brilliant from Cole Palmer again.
04:48We mentioned earlier about the work he's got to do.
04:51Lorenzo Fernandez has freed Jao Pedro.
04:54Joe Pedro up against the Pacey Kusinov.
04:58Fernandez never helped.
05:01And he seemed to change his mind about the pass to end up Fernandez and then lost his footing altogether.
05:06Yeah, he wanted to get his shot away but...
05:10Kusinov was back and then he was looking for some help in his defensive partner and then Ganey got back
05:15as well.
05:17Perhaps should have got that shot away a little bit earlier.
05:23And now it's Haaland.
05:24And Haaland has...
05:25Or was he going for goal and trying to pick up Mahmoush?
05:28He did neither.
05:30The pressure's excellent for Man City.
05:33They're trying to play out and they're under huge pressure and nearly, very nearly get punished for it.
05:39They're holding Liam are here.
05:42Mahmoush to Bernardo Silva and Bernardo Silva takes a push in the back from Enzo Fernandez.
05:47And Rodri takes the free kick.
05:49Not messing around, Rodri gets the ball down and City are on the attack again.
05:57It's Emmanuel.
06:00Gets it through to Matthias Nunes!
06:02Nunes to Haaland!
06:05The flexor.
06:09And I think it was Matthias Nunes from the first pass.
06:12You can see the run that he's made there.
06:15Hope that he gets an earlier ball but he is just offside.
06:20Waiting for this FA Cup final to really spark into action.
06:25Bernardo Silva.
06:26Enzo Fernandez got a hold of him.
06:28He's still got the pass out to Doku.
06:29Doku gets it through, Palmer.
06:33Bernardo Silva.
06:35And that's been seen as a little too robust from Enzo Fernandez,
06:39who feels he took the ball perfectly well and cleanly.
06:43Yeah, what you can't do though is tackle like he did in today's game.
06:46When you go in two-footed like he has, you might have gone away with that 10 or 15 years
06:52ago,
06:52but you won't get away with it now.
07:01It's Haaland.
07:02It's who they want.
07:04Straight against Sanchez.
07:06Dropped his body.
07:07Made himself big.
07:08Made the save.
07:09Effort on target from Haaland.
07:10Yeah, and that's exactly what you have to be wary of.
07:13Because one pass, one run, one effort at goal could make all the difference.
07:25Tested by João Pedro.
07:27And João Pedro away with the ball.
07:29And Kusunov gets it his way.
07:31Chelsea will ask, but I don't think Chelsea will get.
07:38It's now going to be looked at by VAR.
07:41Peter Banks is in the chair today.
07:44It will make it.
07:45VAR will do anything for that.
07:48I suppose we'd better ask Dara.
07:49Can he's alongside us.
07:50Dara, what do you think?
07:51No penalty for me.
07:52The two players came together, shoulder to shoulder,
07:56both within playing distance of the ball.
07:58And the correct on-field decision was given.
08:14Cole.
08:16James.
08:19This is awkwardly away from Fafana.
08:22Dorku.
08:25Cherky.
08:26First involvement.
08:28Finds O'Reilly.
08:30O'Reilly stands it up.
08:31Semenyo goes for it.
08:33Couldn't get over the ball.
08:35And the ball goes over the VAR.
08:37Oh, what a ball in.
08:38From O'Reilly.
08:39Such a clever ball.
08:41He just dings it, clips it.
08:43To the far post.
08:45And I hope that Semenyo can get on the end of it.
08:47And he did, he just can't keep it down enough.
08:49He's up very, very early.
08:53Six games in charge against 591.
08:59And that's just with Manchester City.
09:02Oh, Trafford, what happened there?
09:04It's gone behind.
09:06Yeah, it's an error.
09:07It's a big mistake.
09:09There's no doubt it goes out for a corner.
09:11He just loses concentration.
09:16Reece James.
09:17Daffening noise right behind him.
09:20Chips it in and Trafford comes to get a hand to it.
09:23He's got to get back quickly now.
09:24Helped by Rodri.
09:27Cherky then upended by Caicedo.
09:30You can hear what the Chelsea fans think about that one.
09:33He was definitely helped out by Rodri.
09:35He tried to come for the ball, really get enough on it.
09:41That is Sanchez.
09:42Haaland is starting to think about entering hunting mode.
09:48Fernandes, Kukureya.
09:51Kusunov got across him.
09:53Kukureya hits the floor.
09:55And the referee gives it Chelsea's way.
09:58Yellow card for Kusunov.
10:00Now I just get the feeling it's starting to hot up a bit.
10:06In from James, Trafford stays back.
10:09Caicedo trying to get there before.
10:11Doku, he thinks he did.
10:12Chelsea Howell again for something.
10:14Here's Fernandes, it's off O'Reilly.
10:16They're asking again, they're saying handball.
10:19But a corner's been given.
10:21Darren England takes a few steps away and tries to let things cool down.
10:26Yeah, they're definitely putting Man City under pressure.
10:28Does hit his arm but it's close in, tight to him.
10:32No way that's a penalty.
10:34For me anyway.
10:38James.
10:41That's a beauty of a ball from James but Fofana was underneath it.
10:46It was a great ball in the pace.
10:50Just to that far post.
10:52Can't get the guidance on it.
10:54Too far away.
10:55And the noise that's coming from Chelsea's fans is...
11:00Well, it must be inspiring for their players.
11:07Got to try and get on the ball and try and get this City team working with each other.
11:13Too many misplaced passes from them at the minute.
11:17Chelsea closing them down and winning the ball.
11:18There's more zip about Chelsea as Parma finds Gusto.
11:21Gusto puts it in.
11:23Joe Pedro went down before the ball arrived.
11:26And Darren England again had a decision to make.
11:29There's a touch there but I don't think it's enough for him to go down for the penalty anyway.
11:33He's not going to get it.
11:38Kusinov.
11:39That's the 70 minute mark.
11:41Chelsea 0, Manchester City 0.
11:44And the 145th FA Cup final.
11:4816 of the last 19 settled by a single goal.
11:52Feels that way this one.
11:54As Haaland finds Bernardo Silva.
11:59Bernardo Silva finds Haaland again.
12:02Semenyo!
12:05Special!
12:07A final that needed a flick of ingenuity has got one.
12:14Wow.
12:15We've spoken about a lack of quality.
12:17A large part of this game for Manchester City, particularly in forward positions.
12:22Not now.
12:24Not with that.
12:25That is class.
12:27It really is.
12:29That ability to do that.
12:32In such a tight area.
12:34Quick, quick thinking.
12:35And to flick it around like he did.
12:38Keepers got no chance.
12:40So quick.
12:41So deadly.
12:42It's a brilliant goal.
12:44It really is.
12:45Got quality all over it.
12:48Made by Haaland.
12:50Scored with style.
12:52By Antoine Semenyo.
12:58They loved it.
13:01Chelsea back at them.
13:02And it's over the top from Enzo Fernandes.
13:06See what he's trying to do there with a long throwing and the flick on.
13:10There he's just trying to flick it around with the right boot.
13:13Just can't keep it low enough.
13:17Fafana.
13:20Run by O'Reilly.
13:22Run by O'Reilly.
13:22Went trunching into the challenge.
13:24Took the ball though.
13:25And here's Scherke.
13:29Malo Augusto's out of the game.
13:33Doku.
13:34O'Reilly played in.
13:36O'Reilly plays it behind Haaland, behind everybody.
13:40Enzo Fernandes to Joril Hatton.
13:44Chelsea remain light.
13:45Malo Augusto's made no attempt to get back up since the challenge on him.
13:49Kusinov.
13:50That wasn't certain.
13:53Chelsea fans, Chelsea players scream again.
13:56And again get nothing.
13:58He came together with a body.
14:00But I just thought that his leg going in between his, he might have clipped him.
14:03But I don't think so.
14:04And I agree with the referee and the VAR there.
14:06Not a penalty.
14:08Top official Darren Cannes, your view?
14:10Similar to the Kusinov situation.
14:12First half, not a penalty once more.
14:17O'Reilly to Doku.
14:20Doku to O'Reilly.
14:22O'Reilly has freedom to surge into the box.
14:26He can't find Haaland though.
14:27It's brilliantly cut out.
14:29The energy from Kusinov.
14:33Scherke.
14:35Tedronetto goes back in to win it.
14:40Fernandes to Joril, Pedro's struck on the ball.
14:44Great work from Nick O'Reilly to get up there.
14:46It's just that final pass again.
14:48But as you said, Kusinov did ever so well to get back and cut it out.
14:53Scherke.
14:55Lovely ball in.
14:56And it's off the post.
14:59It's Mateus Nunes, then it caught a bit of Sanchez and then the frame of the goal.
15:03I think it did, it went off Sanchez onto the post, didn't it?
15:06I don't know if it's a good save or a lucky escape.
15:13There's Haaland.
15:13Said he could be in again.
15:15It's Scherke saved by Sanchez.
15:21Dockert wrestled away.
15:23He chooses for power.
15:25Hits it with the front of the foot, doesn't he?
15:27Instead of trying to guide it in straight out the keeper and expect him to save that.
15:31But it's really, really opened up.
15:35And we're into five, at least five more minutes to be played.
15:44Fernandes to Gusto.
15:49Gusto into the lap.
15:52It was Hitscherts.
15:53Gets it all wrong, doesn't he?
15:55Just tries to guide it in there.
15:58Good ball in with the left foot from Gusto.
16:01Tough chance.
16:04Gusto overruns it, took his eyes away.
16:06Chirky to Haaland.
16:11Dockert.
16:14Dockert.
16:15Dockert to Chirky.
16:16Chirky dancing his way through.
16:19Haaland's desperate for the ball.
16:24He wanted it earlier.
16:26He wanted it earlier, didn't he?
16:30Desperate for his goal at Wembley.
16:32Looks as though it's going to be another.
16:35Not that he didn't want another appearance at Wembley without scoring.
16:38But he made one.
16:39And he made a big one.
16:41Well, you can see his reaction.
16:42That's what I mean.
16:42He wanted that pass played into him earlier.
16:45He didn't want Chirky going to the left-hand side.
16:47He wanted to pick him out.
16:50Desperate for that goal, isn't he?
16:55The smile might be back on his face soon.
16:58We are past the five minutes.
17:00And that is it!
17:09Manchester City have won the FA Cup.
17:18And Trent Semenyo has provided the moment of this and many other finals.
17:27Well, it might not have been a vintage Manchester City performance,
17:30but they've had to work incredibly hard for it.
17:34Defend very, very well when they were under pressure
17:37in the hope that someone, when they got into a forward position,
17:40would produce something very, very special.
17:44And that's what happened.
17:45That piece of skill from Semenyo is so tough to do.
17:49Not many can do it.
17:50The way he swiveled, the way he flicked it in.
17:54And that is the moment in this game.
17:55And that's won Manchester City the FA Cup.
18:02And Blue Moon booms out around Wembley.
18:11The last two seasons in the FA Cup have ended in
18:14final disappointment, beaten by Manchester United,
18:17then beaten by Crystal Palace.
18:19They came into this one favourites again.
18:23This time was their time once again.
18:27For the eighth time joining Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs,
18:32City are the Cup winners.
18:37It is not so very long ago at all that they were still something of a joke in English football.
18:43The team that couldn't win anything.
18:45The team that fell to tears.
18:50The only tears tonight will come from Chelsea players and fans and tears of joy
18:56from those who've come to see the Cup bedecked in the sky blue ribbons.
19:04For the eighth time in their history,
19:07Manchester City are winners of the FA Cup.
19:11Manchester City will win the winner of Wembley!
19:20Bernardo, huge congratulations.
19:22You told me beforehand it would be the perfect way to mark your final appearance
19:25in Wembley by lifting another trophy.
19:27You have done it. How special is all of this?
19:29Very special. I am really happy.
19:32Everything about my journey at Man City was fantastic.
19:35and it's really nice to finish this way hopefully we can still have a small dream that we can fight
19:42for the Premier League we're going to try against Bournemouth to keep those hopes alive
19:46but today we're very happy. Talk to me about your relationship with Pep Guardiola as well
19:50Bernardo what is he like to play for what's been so special? Well he changed the way that I see
19:56football nine years so 80 percent of my career more or less was with him as my manager all of
20:04the things that I ever hoped for achieving it was under him and yeah the relationship with the
20:11years got very strong with the frustrations with the achievements and yeah I hope that now that
20:18I'm leaving one day when I come back to the same city where it is we can go for dinner
20:22we can have
20:24lunch and be friends. It feels amazing a bit surreal it's all sinking in now grateful and hopefully
20:32many more trophies to come. You've scored a lot of goals this season you've already now scored 11 for
20:37Manchester City since you signed but where does that one rank? It's one of the best ones to be
20:41honest a special goal obviously winning us the trophy scored quite a few favourite goals in my head
20:47but yeah this is a special one and I'll never forget. I'm proud of the performance I thought it was
20:52a
20:52really even game congratulations to Man City they they come out on top in this one but I thought it
20:57was
20:57two evenly matched sides I thought we went toe-to-toe with them we had moments where we were the
21:02better
21:03team they had moments or they were they were the better team in the game the game was decided by
21:07one moment of quality that on another day we get that I thought it was a really even a really
21:12even
21:12game. And after collecting history FA Cup with his medal Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola joined the
21:18match of the day live team. When I watch you on the touchline and the energy you you you bring
21:23to this
21:23team and the trophies you've won in your career and to keep continue to do that how do you keep
21:29that
21:29energy up it's it's incredible. Still we are here what do you have to do do our job train the
21:33team
21:34prepare try to beat them it's a natural all of us know when you play and it's not uh the
21:38feeling when
21:39you win you want to win more you are you are in a club like you won a lot in
21:42you know in a row and
21:44that feeling when you play you have to continue in the moment the fire will decrease uh we'll go home.
21:50But you've been more relaxed I would say over the last couple of weeks even when he was come on
21:56irons and all that I like it you're smiling and something changed. I'm a funny guy.
22:06No no I'm okay the year has been really good the toughest season was last season for many reasons
22:12every we talk a lot but this season is every day how we behave in my up and downs we
22:18maybe we found
22:20we took time to find some stability with the team because the new players have to know that they
22:24have to know me this player with this player how we work this shape in the pressing in that way
22:29in
22:29that way sometimes you need time and then premier leagues especially don't you know don't wait
22:34and especially arsenal that have been extraordinary of season but we are there two titles so we
22:40finished top eight after face champions league madrid always is a nightmare but they are incredible
22:44good in that competitions but you know at the end when you arrive at the end fighting for the
22:49premier league and two titles the season is extraordinary no doubt especially how we behave
22:55minimal celebrations tonight not even once not even one
22:59in tuesday i'm well aware what you've got white says you just gotta celebrate every victory
23:04no you know bournemouth i know to the dentist honestly so when they play for the
23:09so we will be even tougher but i don't know how is how we listen try to go there to
23:15take
23:15rosol and extend the chance to have stumbila home
23:20so congratulations to pep guardiola and manchester city paul robinson and dion dublin alongside me
23:26good evening to you gents paul thoughts on the final um it's one that won't live too long in the
23:30memory apart from the goal i thought it was a fantastic goal i really do i thought the first
23:34half both teams really cancelled each other out you got to give chelsea a lot of credit for the way
23:38they've approached this i mean before the liverpool result last week coming off the back of 60
23:41feats in a row you wondered what mindset they would have coming here they're set up defensively in a
23:45back five they look resilient and they look solid manchester city found it hard at times to break
23:49them down they played with a high line crunched the pitch and it took city a while to get through
23:53them
23:53but that's the point though dion not a classic final but city won't care no they won't and pep got
23:58over
23:58the line again he just knows how to set his teams up to get over you know a two-horse
24:04race
24:05fans were outstanding both sets of fans were outstanding as well the noise was brilliant
24:08the occasion was amazing but when there's silverware on the line peps puts people in
24:14the right place at the right time and he's a genius absolutely right so city win the final
24:18but we won't be talking about this final for years to come we might be talking about the goal
24:23absolutely brilliant from spenio oh it's wonderful so many things to admire about this goal i mean the
24:28build-up play for manchester city where they win the ball back and the quickness of movement from back
24:32to front it's early in harland here i mean he had a fairly fairly quiet game but he drops deeper
24:36and the one two here with bernardo silva i think it is into harland's path and he doesn't look up
24:41but
24:41what makes that goal even more special i mean dian's more qualified to tell you than i am but
24:44actually he's in front of the near post it's not just the technique it's the it's the fact he's in
24:48front of the near post and he's able to get that on target yeah it's just it's just about putting
24:53enough on it i think harland knows exactly what he's doing he puts it on the safe side of of
24:57the
24:57defender as well so it's on the striker side and simenio it's behind him as well he's got to i
25:03don't know
25:03contort that left or should right foot should i say with just enough touch on it to go into the
25:08far post that all that what you're seeing that's can totally meant and it's he meant to put it in
25:13that corner it's a genius of the goal and uh a player that's had a massive impact for city yeah
25:18absolutely i want to pick up on that because he has been terrific since he joined from bournemouth young
25:22yeah he hasn't if you're a winger you have to give end product as a center forward and robo will
25:27tell
25:27you as well as a keeper you don't want the winger getting quality in the box all the time that's
25:32what he
25:32does or he finds himself in there as well he'll score goals he'll create goals he's a bit of a
25:37menace when it comes to being a fullback as well so i think he's been a great signing great signing
25:41it's it goes it adds weight to the saying when we say premier league proven you know when you sign
25:46a player who's premier league proven and we talk about other players that have come into the league
25:49and it's taken a while to settle in the premier league the pace of the league the speed of the
25:53game
25:53the physicality actually you look at the two signings that manchester city made in january
25:57margay and semenyo what an impact they've both had beautifully setting me up because dion you know
26:02how much i like a stat how about this for a stat manchester city's margay fourth player to play for
26:06different winning teams in consecutive fa cup finals palace last year of course arthur kenner did it for
26:12wanderers in 1878 and old eutonians in 1879 you can see i've done my research played in that one
26:17brian brian tolbert in 1978 for ipswich and arsenal 79 and olivier giroux arsenal 2017 and chelsea 2018
26:27in fact he walked past this just a short time ago and i said to him you made history today
26:30he said
26:31yeah but i also got knocked out with palace early in the competition the biggest ever upset but the
26:35gap between the two teams that was the biggest ever so it's been some season for him he had a
26:39great
26:39game today gehi yeah i i like him i like i like his manner i like he's humble uh he's
26:46he's an honest
26:47player who gives you everything all the time i've not seen him have a bad game for a very very
26:51long
26:51time and he's one he's very much the denis erwin of this era never let you down absolutely i feel
26:56as
26:57if we've been talking about referees all week in fact all season right so let's talk about some of
27:02the big shouts that chelsea had any shouts at all that you thought might have been given well they
27:07thought they might have been given but i think the referee set his stall out very early on and he
27:10set a bar and once you don't give one you can't give the rest and i think what var and
27:14the referee
27:15and the team did well it's coming together right it's coming together yeah and what they did the
27:19communication between the referee and var there wasn't anything obvious enough they've let the
27:22referee referee the game which we don't often see you know he's in a good position there is a
27:26tangling of arms there but var has looked at it and gone the referee's in a good position he's made
27:31that decision on the pitch allow him to referee the game yeah and i don't mind that i think the
27:35second
27:35one more than the first one if there's anything in it at all that one's there's nothing in that
27:39whatsoever so the referee i think var have done the right thing even when you look at this again
27:45dion make it no there's nothing in it tangling legs again yeah tangling legs for me i think the
27:49referee did okay and like robo said set his stall out i'm going to make the decisions i'm going to
27:54take charge of this game uh what did you think of the way chelsea set up today the way they
27:59set up
27:59sorry i couldn't hear how long my friends here again listen dion will tell you this this guy gets a
28:03shout out
28:04every single match as well i think i think they obviously set up with that back five and they
28:10look comfortable in it they changed that against liverpool last week where they got the the one
28:13all draw and after the back coming off the back of those disappointing run of defeats the the
28:17performance level changed and one thing with chelsea this season they've been out running every
28:22single game by every premier league opponent apart from last week at liverpool they actually outrun
28:26liverpool they're putting more yards minimum requirement is always maximum effort and that hasn't been the
28:30case for some of those players this season but actually in that formation it suited a lot of
28:34their style the question is dion where did chelsea go next i mean speculation in the papers this morning
28:38jabi alonso might get the job do they need a big name i don't think it's about a big name
28:43i just think
28:43it's about somebody that can manage people i don't think they've had they've had um potentially good
28:48coaches come in but can you manage the dressing can you can you can you get harmony on the training
28:53ground again i don't think anybody's had a long enough run in order to do that so i think chelsea
28:59you've got to pick somebody and say right here's a couple of years here's three years and just stick
29:03with it and let them do their thing trust somebody and trust to be a manager absolutely there's that
29:07many yes i get the whole network of staff around your football directors technical directors call
29:12them whatever you want but actually the the disjoint between the fans the club the the supporters
29:16everybody at the club it just doesn't seem right you look at the clubs that are well-run and
29:20are successful in this country michael arteta is a manager at arsenal he was given time look what
29:24he's done pep guardiola speaks for itself the last 10 years unai emery he's got the people around him
29:29that he knows he works with and he trusts and he's a manager and chelsea haven't had that for a
29:33while
29:33could be an extraordinary week for manchester city they might still win the premier league title
29:37yeah they may do they're not going to slip up from now to the end of the season i i
29:42just think you know
29:43arsenal are looking over their shoulders they don't want chel they don't want city chasing them and if
29:47if arsenal falter and get a point in one of those games city will win the league city are not
29:52going to put a
29:53foot wrong to the end of the season because the manager won't allow any anything below the best
29:58paul is this going down to the last kick of the season i can't see burn uh burnley beating arsenal
30:02in all honesty so i think it probably will go down to the last game of the season but dion's
30:05right
30:06about pep guardiola he does it so often he just gets his team peaking at this time of the season
30:10all the time you look at his squad that he had to pick from today he had a fully fit
30:13squad to pick
30:14from no injuries no players missing and they had rodry back he did an hour then he made the substitution
30:18with kovacic he's got it right he's been there done it so many times if he is ever to leave
30:23manchester city will leave a huge cavernous gap it's interesting as well if you look back at the
30:27final whistle the players celebrated naturally other teams have celebrated widely and gone to
30:33the fans there was a little bit of my mind thinking look at these players they're thinking
30:36okay we've won another cup we still got business in the week yeah they have they have i mean i
30:42think
30:42the manager pep will allow them to have this moment because it's the fa cup and they've won it
30:47again however when they leave this ground they'll be together and they'll make sure that their heads
30:53on the next game they'll have their moment with the fans and pep wants that he wants the connection
30:57yeah with the fans however when they leave it's all about business again he's taking them back
31:01tonight he said before the game he said that they're going back to manchester tonight yes they can have
31:06the moment they can have the celebration but after tonight the focus is on bournemouth on tuesday yeah
31:10we'll see him on the motorway as we head up north as well yeah i'll be going past them hopefully
31:13my car's going to slow us there coach i won't be happy uh right that's it we're almost out of
31:18time
31:18here at wimby but plenty more to come on the bbc final score is the place to keep across all
31:23the
31:23football tomorrow on the iplayer 245 and bbc two at half past four dion and paul are with me it's
31:29the
31:29final weekend of the women's six nations and we have a championship a grand slam decider between
31:33france and england bbc one 425 for that one gabby logan has the highlights from a busy day in the
31:39premier league that's at half past ten here on bbc one and there's a bonus match of the day on

31:49dion paul great to see you that's it from us congratulations to manchester city we'll see
31:53you next time bye for now
31:56and it's 150th year
32:09life ain't always empty life ain't always empty
32:35life ain't always empty
32:38life ain't always empty
32:41life ain't always empty
32:43life ain't always empty
33:08so this is the city against chelsea in the cup final
33:13english football's oldest and greatest annual occasion let's just hope it gives us everything that we want
33:21the only certainty today is that the ribbons on the trophy will be a shade of blue
33:26It's Harland, straight against Sanchez, Pedro away with the ball, Chelsea will ask, but I don't think Chelsea will get
33:33it, half-time, Chelsea nil, Man City nil, and O'Reilly stands it up, Semenyo goes for it, and the
33:39ball goes over the ball.
33:43Now the silver prize, Harland, Semenyo, special, and that is it, Manchester City have won the FA Cup.
