00:00Since its launch in late 2024, the Gamuda AI Academy, GAIA, has grown into a key platform
00:07supporting Malaysia's digital transformation through hands-on, practical, and interactive
00:12artificial intelligence training.
00:14Powered by Google Cloud and driven by Gamuda, the Academy aims to bridge industry needs
00:19with local talent through specialized AI-focused programs and regional partnerships to meet
00:24the growing demands of today's technology-driven economy.
00:27The Academy launched its first purpose-built AI training campus in Kuala Lumpur in October
00:332024, officiated by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Dio.
00:38It also welcomed underprivileged students, mid-career professionals, and neurodivergent learners,
00:43offering programs in software engineering, DevOps, and AI development using Google Cloud
00:49platforms.
00:51One, two, and three.
00:54Building on the success of its initial cohorts, GAIA expanded to Kota Kinabalu in mid-2025,
01:02where its first graduating cohort reflected the Academy's push to widen access to industry-led
01:07tech education beyond the Klang Valley.
01:10Gamuda AI Academy!
01:14The Academy's successful track record speaks for itself, producing three cohorts since launching
01:21in Kuala Lumpur in 2024 with more than 100 graduates upskilled with full-stack AI.
01:29I truly look forward to it, replicating its success here with an eye towards upskilling the workforce
01:38and bridging digital literacy gaps among the youth.
01:42Our aim is for these talented students born and raised in Sabah to remain here contributing
01:50to the creation of high-impact jobs and a thriving spillover economy within our state.
01:57Gamuda Technologies expanded its presence in Sarawak through a partnership with the Center
02:03for Technology Excellence Sarawak, Centex, introducing the state's first digital construction, as well
02:10as AI and cloud for construction training programs at its inaugural Kuching campus.
02:15I think Gamuda AI Academy has always had the vision of benefiting all Malaysians.
02:20So our vision has always been that we want to make AI accessible to many parts of the country
02:26and jobs especially.
02:27I mean, we talk a lot about sometimes poverty or even B40, but now we know in the world that
02:32we live in today, AI is such a big part of what we're doing and if we can get Malaysians
02:37upskilled into these job roles, we are able to bring benefits to our own citizens.
02:41We see the new industries here, you don't need to start from AI 1.0, you can actually
02:46jumpstart at very high-level AI already.
02:48So the world is clouded with the new technologies.
02:51What we need to do is actually believe in the talent development.
02:55We cannot give up on the talent development, take as many as possible at all levels, even
03:00leadership talent, and at the end of the day, we'll become the major exporter of talents.
03:07Definitely, it will happen.
03:08Within less than two years of operation, the Academy has trained close to 350 students
03:13and graduates across its campuses.
03:16With new programs launching, in Sarawak, the Academy aims to strengthen Malaysia's future
03:21workforce by upskilling talent through applied AI training and digital development.
03:38You
