00:00So he has a collared shirt that he wore yesterday with the Volt green.
00:04I don't know why the Hawks went away from that Volt green.
00:07That's one of my all-time favorites.
00:08I thought that was a red shirt I was wearing.
00:10It's red with black with the Volt.
00:12Oh, okay.
00:13Yeah, you know Volt green.
00:14I love that green.
00:15I remember when Steve Coonan, they launched this Volt green,
00:18and I was like, that's the coolest thing ever, and they went away from it.
00:22You know, I will say this.
00:24So check us out at Stakes Barrett, at Sports Sandra,
00:27and tell me what you think of that sandwich that I went and tracked down like a maniac yesterday.
00:32I will say that watching with my wife, and I made her watch the pregame.
00:37Listen, the NBA, well, all you can say about leaving TNT inside the NBA
00:44and decisions to, you know, have different networks,
00:47and the games are on Prime and games are on Peacock and games are on NBC and games are on
00:50anything.
00:51Let's talk about where this thing landed for Adam Silver.
00:53However, Adam Silver landed, and Atlanta landed,
00:57where everybody over there got to keep their job, stay in Atlanta.
01:02ESPN and the NBA basically deferred and goes,
01:05listen, this is the greatest product we've ever had,
01:07and whatever is going to make it work.
01:10So with all the bitching and mourning during the regular season,
01:12like they used to be on, you know, Tuesdays and Thursdays,
01:15and now we can't find them.
01:16I mean, they are front and center on ABC and ESPN,
01:20and watching the pregame last night with Shaq, Kenny, Ernie, and Charles,
01:24good friend of ours, obviously Charles, and Ernie, who's been on many times.
01:29It's just, it just felt big.
01:32It felt really big.
01:33I made my wife watch the Webinyama interview,
01:35and the young lady, the African-American woman who does an outstanding job,
01:39do you know what I'm talking about?
01:40Exactly.
01:40Who did the interview.
01:41Yep.
01:41And I'm sure you'll track it down.
01:43She's awesome.
01:45The pregame was awesome.
01:46Having those guys, like literally,
01:48I stay up later to hear what they have to say after the games.
01:51They had a great Carl Anthony Towns interview after the game.
01:53But Adam Silver has got the games on ESPN ABC.
01:57He's got the inside the NBA crew.
01:59He's got Victor Webinyama, the biggest star in the world, on there.
02:02I mean, it is all coming together for the NBA.
02:04He's got New York in the mix as well.
02:06So ESPN comes out yesterday.
02:08I guess they're doing this whole interview, kind of car wash,
02:11talking about their coverage.
02:12Burke Mangus comes out, and he goes, we messed up.
02:16You only saw Inside the NBA four times before Christmas.
02:19That ain't happening again.
02:21We are about to – it's about to be more, more, more of Charles.
02:24And I found it so interesting, first of all, that they admitted their mistake.
02:28But he goes, I don't know why we weren't doing more of it.
02:30Yeah.
02:31I mean, they're a monster franchise.
02:34In a day and age where networks – here's what they don't want to do.
02:37Go film something in Toronto, Canada for four months to put on television, on CBS or ABC,
02:46and hope that it gets some audience or put it on stream.
02:49When you've got four guys, you just have them in the studio, you pay for their salaries,
02:53and them talking can bring you bigger numbers than anything else.
02:58Because you don't mess with that formula, right?
03:00That's exactly right.
03:00And it's not as many bells and whistles as trying to put game day on.
03:04Think of what they have to do to game day with the trucks and the cities and set up everywhere.
03:08Now they're doing live music at game day.
03:10Now you have a three-hour cavalcade.
03:13Game day is absolutely spectacular, and kudos to the Home Depot, who is a huge part of that,
03:17and my buddies over there, and we love it.
03:19But this is so much easier because the four of them are so entertaining, right?
03:24So you're going to see more of that.
03:25I love some of the stuff from last night.
03:27All I said about the Knicks, go back to my other point.
03:30I looked at my wife and said, how wild would this be?
03:32When they were doing the introductions for San Antonio, I said, how wild would this be
03:36if the Atlanta Hawks are here someday?
03:38Like if we're sitting in the building or we're watching the Atlanta Hawks,
03:41are we that far away?
03:42Not necessarily.
03:43I mean, like we hung in there with the Knicks for a little while until we did not.
03:47We have great young players.
03:48Now would we have been a lot better off with a top four pick?
03:51You bet your butt we would have been if we had a top four pick.
03:55But you know what?
03:56The eighth pick could be better than the third pick.
03:58There's no guarantee.
03:59We got the eighth pick.
04:00We got another number one.
04:01We got young players.
04:02So we shall see.
04:03But last night, my point about the Knicks is how do you bet against a team that has won 11
04:08in a row in the playoffs?
04:09How do you bet against them?
04:11They are on an all-time run.
04:12They're in a heater of heaters.
04:15Think about teams that have won titles.
04:16The Atlanta Braves got in a heater five years ago and went all the way through the postseason.
04:20They didn't look like a championship team necessarily much of the year.
04:23And then it was like, dude, they're handling everybody.
04:25Their bullpen handed the Dodgers.
04:27And their everyday lineup had guys stepping up every day making plays, right?
04:31Yeah, absolutely.
04:32You know, it was our version of Jorge Soleil and Chuck Peterson is the equivalent of, you know, Josh Hart
04:40and Ananobi.
04:41Like guys you didn't think would be the stars stepping up.
04:44And last night, Mike Brown said it perfectly.
04:47We have something that nobody else has.
04:49And that is Jalen Brunson.
04:51He's a gamer, man.
04:52He, you know, in the biggest moments, you know, he shows up.
04:57And that's what MVPs are supposed to do.
05:00We put the ball in his hands.
05:01We said we were going to live and die with him.
05:03And he went and he got it done for us.
05:05And that's happened time after time after time after time.
05:08He got to his spots and he made plays.
05:10Love the way he just laid it out there.
05:12Like, this is not complicated.
05:14We have this guy.
05:16Colleen Anthony Towns had a really great game in terms of getting them back in it when they were down
05:21by 14.
05:22I think he had 18 and 12, four assists.
05:25Here he is talking about the influence that New York City has given him.
05:29You guys were down 20 twice in Boston last year.
05:32You guys were down 22 against the Cavs in game one of the conference finals today.
05:35You're down 14.
05:36What is it about this team when you guys are down big that you guys don't quit?
05:39Why do you guys have that confidence no matter how big you guys are down?
05:43I mean, it's something that's in the city.
05:45You feel that energy in the city.
05:47The grit, the grind, the hard work you've got to put in to make it in the city.
05:53I think we reflect all our fans and their lifestyles and what it takes to make it in New York
05:58City when we step on that court with the next jersey.
06:01If I'm his agent, I give him a hug and a kiss.
06:03Oh, it gets better.
06:04Did you hear him talk about his mother?
06:06I think his mother passed away when he was 12.
06:08Yeah.
06:08And so he got to Madison Square Garden yesterday and he said, I've never felt so at peace.
06:13It was in San Antonio yesterday.
06:14I mean, San Antonio.
06:15Yes.
06:15And he said, I walked in here.
06:16Did you hear him say that?
06:17Yeah, no, I heard the only interview.
06:18He goes, I looked up in the stands and it was like my mom was here and I just thought,
06:22oh, they're on a mission.
06:23But think about what he just, yeah.
06:25And you're right.
06:26It was a great interview at postgame with the guys talking about it.
06:28I've never felt, I was having so much fun.
06:30And he goes, it reminded me of my AAU games on Saturday and Sunday morning.
06:34I was just having so much fun.
06:36But when you get up there and go, oh, it's the grit of the city.
06:39I mean, come on, dude.
06:41If you end up winning it, this guy's going to have every New York duty.
06:46I mean, he goes, I mean, come on.
06:47When you're winning by 20, when you come back down 20, those games were in Boston.
06:52They weren't even in New York.
06:53Like, I don't know what the New York grit has to do with it, but it sure sounds good.
06:57It sure sounds good if you want to be like, yeah, absolutely.
07:00Here's Wemben Yama, though.
07:02I love what he had to say, dude.
07:03He is focused like a laser.
07:05He said, if you think I'm worried about one loss, you crazy.
07:08We've been down in a series before, never in the finals, obviously.
07:12But I'm not kicking myself about anything, really.
07:14I mean, I'm not worried the slightest.
07:16I'm not worried the slightest.
07:18Brian Wintor said from the jump that he could tell Wemben was tired.
07:21So, he said, I started writing the article that Wemben is not himself tonight.
07:26Well, he was definitely looking for a shot.
07:27Then they just showed a ton of misses, you know, early on.
07:29Yeah, 6 for 21.
07:30So, that's about 25% from the floor.
07:33That's not going to get it done.
07:34Here he is also saying, essentially, I didn't play well.
07:40It's not complicated.
07:41Every team guards differently, you know.
07:43I'm going to figure it out.
07:45Yeah, I mean, I was bad tonight.
07:47It's not more complicated than that.
07:51He's the best.
07:51I love it.
07:52I was bad tonight.
07:53It's not more complicated than that.
07:56I did put $100 to win, I think, $1,500 on them sweeping the series, the Knicks to sweep.
08:05At 15 to 1 odds, you know, whatever.
08:08Then I'm not going to win that.
08:09Because I think when I hear Wemben, it sounds to me like San Antonio is going to come out in
08:14game two
08:14and just be game busters.
08:16Yeah, you can't lose two at home.
08:17Right.
08:17I mean, if it was two at home, that bet will be alive.
08:19You agree?
08:20I mean, obviously, you go back to New York.
08:21That was a dumb bet.
08:22I know it's only $100 to you, but that's…
08:24It's 15 times odds.
08:26I know.
08:26I do the math, but I don't like that bet at all.
08:29I'm just saying.
08:29Well, I mean, it's not even money, right?
08:32I know.
08:32So, what you're saying is you win $1,500 for your $100 bet.
08:35But I'm telling you that was a bad bet because you're going to be…
08:38Tomorrow night, that bet's over.
08:39I told you…
