00:00Well, some interesting comments from Louis Riddick on Grant and Danny's show about Jaden.
00:05Of course, he was a big fan of Jaden coming out of the draft, rookie season, unbelievable.
00:10Last year, quarterback rating slipped.
00:12Most of the metrics slipped when he was on the field.
00:14Of course, the bigger story was he wasn't on the field that much.
00:16Here's what Louis Riddick expects from Jaden this year.
00:20I said I put it on social media, not that social media is the gospel or anything,
00:25but it's just an easy way to get your thoughts out there when you're sitting around late at night
00:28watching TV like I do all the time.
00:32He'll be a top five quarterback again this year, just like he was two years ago, as measured by QBR.
00:37He'll be top five again.
00:39I'll put my money on that.
00:40This guy can throw the freaking football, and he's so electric.
00:45I absolutely love him.
00:48He's always loved him.
00:49So he's going by the QBR metric.
00:52Yeah.
00:53Trying to punch up last year's top five QBR.
00:58Number one was Drake May.
01:00Yep.
01:01Number two, Brock Purdy.
01:04Number three, Jordan Love.
01:07Number four, Matthew Stafford.
01:09And number five was Dak Prescott.
01:12Will he break that top five?
01:14He definitely could.
01:15What's crazy is Mahomes and Josh Allen were on the outside of the top five.
01:19Lamar Jackson was number nine.
01:21I mean, there's a lot of guys there.
01:22I think he'd be happy if he just finished top ten.
01:26I know, you know, was he number three as a rookie?
01:32That sounds right.
01:33I'd have to go back and look, but he was definitely in the top seven or eight.
01:39Let's see, regular season, he was four.
01:41Four.
01:42Yeah.
01:44And QBR.
01:45Could he get back to the top five?
01:47Sure.
01:49I mean, of course, he's got to be out there.
01:52Dan Quinn needs him to get back into the top five.
01:55He needs a double-digit win season.
01:56And the best way to deliver one of those is for Jaden to play 17 games and to throw for
02:0325 or 28 touchdowns and run for 800 yards.
02:07Yeah.
02:07Run for eight touchdowns, too.
02:08Yeah.
02:08Like, do you need that sort of production?
02:11The thing that was so impressive about his rookie year was he just didn't turn the ball over.
02:15Yeah.
02:16And rookies tend to turn the ball over.
02:18Sure.
02:18But even last year, when he didn't play great in his limited body work, eight touchdowns to three interceptions, that's
02:23a good touchdown-interception ratio.
02:26Sure.
02:27So I don't expect him to throw a lot of picks.
02:31His completion percentage was obviously way down, but I almost throw it out because he was so limited.
02:38But his QBR dropped to 44.7 last year.
02:41Oh, it was bad.
02:42It was bad.
02:43You know, 50's average.
02:44So that's below average.
02:45I mean, what was his completion percentage his rookie year?
02:47Was it 70%?
02:48It was really high.
02:49It was pretty high, right?
02:51Yeah.
02:5369%.
02:54It dipped below 70, but, I mean, it was above 70 for a big portion of the season, and it
02:59dropped to 60.6%.
03:01Yeah.
03:02But a lot of that also had to do with, you know, Terry wasn't there.
03:06Terry wasn't there.
03:06In and out of the lineup, he's hurt all the time.
03:08Yeah, playing hurt.
03:10But look, that's why they're changing the offense.
03:12They're changing the offense as much as, you know, they had a bad year, but they're changing the offense.
03:18Cliff had a successful offense that rookie season, but because of the injuries, I think,
03:24they thought maybe he's going to be better off in a more traditional drop-back system
03:28versus just having him in the shotgun all the time.
03:32And as Cakes mentioned, they're still going to be in the shotgun.
03:35You know, it's third and 12.
03:38They're going to be in the shotgun.
03:39You would think.
03:40But on first and 10, he's going to turn his back to the defense, and he's going to sometimes hand
03:47the ball off,
03:48and sometimes he's going to fake the handoff.
03:49And then he'll roll to the right, roll to the left, and hit some play-action passes.
03:55I'm intrigued to see what the offense looks like in a real-game scenario.
03:58I'm not talking about OTAs.
04:00I'm not even talking about training camp.
04:02Real-game scenario.
04:04Week one.
04:05What does this offense look like?
04:06Would you bet on Lewis Riddick there, or would you bet against him?
04:14Top five is hard.
04:16I would probably say no, but he'll be top seven or eight.
04:20Yeah, I think top ten is certainly in play if he stays healthy and he improves upon last year
04:27and some of these younger guys develop alongside Terry McLaurin.
04:32Like if Antonio Williams comes in and he's a stud from day one, that's going to help Jaden a lot.
04:37If he struggles and only catches 10 or 15 balls and nobody really steps into that number two void,
04:43if Traylon Burks doesn't do something or Van Jefferson doesn't become that guy,
04:47then there's going to be issues.
04:50But he should have kind of his Austin Eckler this year in white.
04:54Sure.
04:55I love that addition to the team.
04:57There were still, I mean, last year, if you kind of look at the numbers,
05:00there were so many quarterbacks that had really good years,
05:03but they weren't even close to the top five QBR.
05:06I mean, Trevor Lawrence had a really good year.
05:09He was middle of the pack.
05:11He had an awesome year.
05:11Bo Nix had a really good year, middle of the pack.
05:13Caleb Williams, really good year, middle of the pack.
05:19You know, Jared Goff threw 34 touchdowns, middle of the pack.
05:23QBR is a weird metric, though.
05:25It's hard to stay up there.
05:26I used to love QBR.
05:27I now like to look at QBR and passer rating together
05:30because sometimes guys will get a really high QBR
05:33and it doesn't make sense or a really low QBR.
05:36Yeah, I mean, you've got to throw in the completion percentage
05:39and obviously turnovers, sacks you've taken.
05:44I mean, there's a ton of metrics.
05:46Look, right now...
05:47I think top five is a little too high,
05:50especially after coming off last year,
05:51but I think, yeah, top ten.
05:53If you rank the quarterbacks just in the NFC East,
05:56right now, Jackson Dart would be the bottom.
06:00Probably Jaden Daniels at three.
06:02You can't lift him above Dak and Jalen Hurts.
06:07Sure I can.
06:08You would right now?
06:09I think...
06:10That's disrespectful to Jalen Hurts.
06:12I think...
06:12Jalen Hurts has not a...
06:13I understand that there's, you know, a lot of noise.
06:18Jalen Hurts last year had 25 touchdowns
06:20with only six picks.
06:22Passing.
06:22I think Jaden Daniels, if he's healthy,
06:25is already a better thrower of the football
06:27than Jalen Hurts ever could dream of being.
06:32Dak had a really good year, though.
06:34I'd have to slot him behind Dak,
06:35especially because Dak has just two explosive weapons now
06:38and Pickens and CV land.
06:39I mean, Dak had a high percentage.
06:42Jaden has the potential to be better than all of them.
06:44Yeah.
06:44But I couldn't stack him above those two right now.
06:46That's just disrespectful of Jalen Hurts.
06:49Even in a down year, 25 touchdowns with only six picks?
06:52Would you sign up for 25 and six right now from Jaden Daniels?
06:56Of course.
06:56If you guaranteed me those reviews numbers?
06:59That's what Jalen Hurts gave you.
07:00Yeah.
07:01I just have a negative outlook on Jalen Hurts.
07:05People hate on Hurts.
07:06Yeah.
07:07I don't know why.
07:08I mean, the guys won a Super Bowl.
07:10I understand.
07:11And he was pretty damn good in that Super Bowl.
07:13And he gets a lot of gimmicky tush-push touchdowns
07:15that add to his touchdown totals.
07:18Not as many last year.
07:19Right.
07:19Got scaled back.
07:22So, if I were to give you 25 and a half on Jaden passing touchdowns,
07:27would you go over?
07:28Do I get an injury caveat?
07:30No.
07:31Because that's...
07:33I mean, that's why you have to base it on staying healthy.
07:36If I had to take the bet right now, I would bet the over.
07:40Go over.
07:40Probably not by a lot, but I would bet the over.
07:43If he plays in 17 games, he's going to throw 28 to 30 touchdowns.
07:48Total touchdowns passing and rushing.
07:5233 and a half.
07:55Over.
07:57I'll place that bet right now.
07:59Without an injury caveat.
08:01All right.
08:01Can I take the bet?
08:02I'm Cakes Riddick all of a sudden.
08:04Can I take the wager?
08:05How much do you want to put on it?
08:06Let's put...
08:06I don't know.
08:07What do you want to wager?
08:0810 bucks?
08:09You should bet the number.
08:1033.
08:11I'll wager whatever you want.
08:11What was your number?
08:1233 and a half?
08:1333?
08:13I'll bet that.
08:14I'll bet that.
08:15$33.
08:15$33.
08:16Matt, can you put that in the bread?
08:17That's now official.
08:19Over 33 and a half total touchdowns.
08:22Now, this is just passing touchdowns, but there were only two quarterbacks in the NFL that
08:28had more than 33 passing touchdowns.
08:30I don't need 33.
08:31I need like 28.
08:33Yeah.
08:33Because I know he's going to run some in.
08:35I know he's running in five or six.
08:37Only five guys had more than 28 touchdown passes.
08:40Yeah.
08:42Trevor Lawrence, Dak Prescott, Drake May, Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford.
08:46I'm bullish.
08:47What did he have?
08:47Maybe not Riddick level, but I'm bullish on Jaden Daniels in 2026.
08:51What did he have?
08:52What did he have his rookie year?
08:52Total touchdowns.
08:53He had 25 passing.
08:55Jaden?
08:55Yeah.
08:55How many rushing?
08:56Didn't he have like eight rushing touchdowns as a rookie?
08:58So he was at 33.
08:58I'll double check that, but I think that's right.
09:00I think that's kind of like your side, Jason.
09:03Under the 33 and a half?
09:04Yeah.
09:04Especially with no injury caveat.
09:05That's a pretty big wager for cakes.
09:07That's not.
09:08Jason always asks for injury caveat.
09:10Well.
09:11Cakes.
09:11I know.
09:12Cakes are just an action junkie.
09:14I just got blinded.
09:14I got blinded.
09:15My Jaden love.
