00:01Teens used to hang out together at the mall to get away from their parents. Now
00:05teens are spending time together on their phones and some say it is not good
00:10for their mental health. Psychology professor Jean Twenge told The Hill,
00:16Teens are spending a lot more time communicating with each other
00:19electronically and a lot less time hanging out with each other face to face.
00:24But while some think this is leading to loneliness, not all agree. Michigan State
00:30University professor Keith Hampton said there's such strong rhetoric out there
00:35about the harms associated with these screens but to be honest the data is so
00:41weak. It does not sound like there is an easy solution either way.
