00:09have condemned the accusations of the United States against Army General Raúl Castro Ruz,
00:15describing them as a violation of the United Nations' order.
00:19In a statement, the United Nations Human Rights Council expressed that
00:22attempts to alter the constitutional order of a sovereign state throughout threats and coercion
00:28recall the practices of the colonial era.
00:31Following the kidnapping of Venezuela's President Nicolás Maduro in January 2026
00:36and the subquisitioned declaration of the so-called Monroe Doctrine by President Trump in March 2026,
00:43which asserts United States' dominance over the Western Hemisphere,
00:47there has been a great deal of concern.
00:50Furthermore, the communique emphasized that the recent federal indictment
00:54of former Cuban President Raúl Castro appears to be related to those efforts
00:59to undermine Cuba's sovereignty.
01:01This inappropriate use of national judicial procedures against head of states in office
01:07of former ones as a means of coercive foreign policy
01:10constitutes a violation of the principles of sovereign equality
01:15and self-determination enshrined in the United Nations Charter.
