In a new report, the US Trade Representative Office says Taiwan is not doing enough to curb forced labor in its supply chains, creating unfair conditions for American workers. It has proposed a 10% tariff on the country as a result.

00:25so tariffs are needed to protect them.
00:28Taiwan's trade authorities say that the report is just one step in a lengthy investigation procedure,
00:33and it will continue working with American authorities to make sure that both sides can maintain their interests.
