The Secret Saturdays is an American animated television series created by Canadian cartoonist Jay Stephens and produced by Porchlight Entertainment for Cartoon Network. The series ran from October 3, 2008 to January 30, 2010. It follows the adventures of the eponymous family of cryptozoologists that work to keep the truth about cryptids from getting out, to protect both the human race and the creatures themselves. The Saturdays travel the Earth searching for cryptids to study and battling twisted villains like the megalomaniac V. V. Argost. The series is influenced by 1960s-era Hanna-Barbera action series and Jay Stephens's interest in cryptozoology. From their hidden base, heroic scientists Doc, Drew and Zak Saturday work with a network of cryptozoologists committed to protecting mankind against hidden horrors most people don't even know exist. The Secret Saturdays revolves around the eponymous Saturdays, a family of cryptozoologists consisting of parents Doc and Drew Saturday and their 11-year-old son, Zak Saturday. The Saturdays are members of the Secret Scientists, a global organization with the goal of studying and safeguarding sciences considered too dangerous to be general public knowledge. As the foremost experts in cryptids, the Saturdays are responsible for studying and protecting cryptids around the world, while also keeping their existence a secret from the rest of humanity and averting cryptid-related threats. The Saturdays travel in their airship with their cryptid companions Fiskerton, Komodo, and Zon, while the young Zak Saturday strives to help his parents with their missions and to master his mysterious innate ability to influence and control the actions of cryptids.

01:30Shouldn't you be paying attention to your driving?
01:32Don't worry, Dad. She's got backup on this mission.
01:35And now, Zack, you know you're not really on this...
01:38You haven't told him?
01:40I... Well, the timing hasn't been... No.
01:43Wait, it's gonna be what?
01:46I know.
01:48Zack, honey, your father and I feel you've...
01:51You've gotten a little, well, reckless.
01:53What?
01:54Oh, well.
01:56Breaking into the cortex disruptors, stowing away, going off plan...
02:00Off plan?
02:00Oh, man. Is this still about Uncle Doyle's bad influence?
02:04It's about a lot of things, Zack.
02:06We're afraid we've given you too much leeway.
02:08Tried to make you grow up too fast.
02:10You're still a child.
02:12So that means I'm useless?
02:14It means your mother and I are running the show for now.
02:17And you, well, you're in the audience for a little while.
02:21The audience?
02:25Zack, I'm sorry, but I cannot have this conversation right now.
02:29Doc, we've been their territory.
02:30I'll call you back when I've got something.
02:32Kisses!
02:33Mwah!
02:38If I don't get to be part of the mission, why am I even here?
02:41It's a good cultural experience.
02:43Hey-ya!
02:55I apologize for our enthusiastic greeting,
02:59but we Hasee have been on high alert since this crisis began.
03:02With good reason, my friend.
03:04It's why I came to see you.
03:05No one knows water like the Hasee, and I need your counsel.
03:09Of course.
03:09But only over tea.
03:15I apologize, young man.
03:17But the Hasee do not allow children in our private discussions.
03:20Children?
03:22Zack, I'll find you if I need you.
03:26Ugh, fine.
03:30And no driving the DRV!
03:32Aw.
03:36Come on, guys!
03:37We're in the open desert with no supervision.
03:39I guarantee I can find us some fun in five seconds or less.
03:43Buh.
03:44Buh.
03:45Buh.
03:46Two, one, launch!
03:49Yeah!
03:50Woo-hoo!
03:51Yeah!
03:53Yeah!
04:01Hey!
04:02Hit him!
04:03Big left!
04:05Woo-ya!
04:06Woo-ya!
04:07Woo-ya!
04:07Woo-ya!
04:13Woo-ya!
04:14Woo-ya!
04:17Woo-ya!
04:21All right, all right, enough style points.
04:26What?
04:30Hello? Are you all right?
04:33Fine, thanks.
04:35I didn't mean to.
04:41Relax, relax. Just give us back what you stole and we'll call it even.
04:45Stole? You must be mistaken.
04:47I didn't take your, uh, lease.
04:51It's an MVP.
04:53Mobile video phone?
04:55Why would you steal something if you don't know what it is?
04:58I see it. I like it. I take it.
05:01Why is this complicated for you?
05:09Hey, stop that!
05:11You're a boss.
05:15Komodo.
05:22Whoa, whoa, I didn't say eat her.
05:27Look, nobody's gonna hurt you.
05:29We're just killing time while our mom talks to your people about this dried up water thing.
05:33What? But why would I, uh, I mean, any of my people have done this very bad thing?
05:42Is there something you'd like to tell us?
05:45What? Why would you think the dragon is still very hungry?
05:53Follow me.
05:55This is Mabul, leader of the Hasi, and an old, dear friend.
05:59The Hasi? Guardians of the underground Mother River? The supposed source of all water on Earth?
06:06I'm confident you're keeping the river very well protected.
06:09Any Hasi would give his life before revealing the location of the Mother River.
06:16But we hoped you might have insight into the cause of this drought.
06:20All we have are rumors.
06:22Every man and child seems to have a more fantastic story.
06:26My own daughter, Wadi, claims she started this disaster when she...
06:30Put the crystal in the water right here.
06:36Wow. I really expected a better story than that.
06:40You don't believe me?
06:41Ha, no. Why wouldn't I believe that a little girl and her magic crystal
06:45turned half of the water in the Middle East into salt?
06:48I didn't say I did that.
06:50I put the crystal in the water, the sea started turning to salt,
06:54and then the salt man broke out in the...
06:56Wait, wait. Now there's a salt man?
07:00I take back what I said about the story.
07:02So what happened next? He assaulted you?
07:07You think I am a joke?
07:09You are no different from my father.
07:11He wouldn't believe me either, just because I'm a child.
07:16Look. Um, thief girl.
07:19Wadi.
07:19Wadi. I'm Zack.
07:22So, where did you say you found this crystal?
07:28Brother, what is happening?
07:43The crystal was right there.
07:46Whoa. It does look like salt.
07:50You see, I am a thief, not a liar.
07:54What is it, Komodo?
07:58What's...
07:59Whoa, nice find.
08:02Can you read this?
08:03Yes. It is very close to the language of the Hussie.
08:07It speaks of a warrior king from an age long past.
08:11His thirst for power could not be quenched by conquering nations.
08:15He knew that only water equals power.
08:18And so he sought the greatest power of all, the Methuselah tree,
08:22a plant whose sap is said to be the fountain of all water on earth.
08:27As the warrior king sailed across the Dead Sea,
08:31the protectors of the tree caused a violent earthquake,
08:34entombing him in the salty seabed.
08:36There his body would be kept alive by the salt forever.
08:40His undying thirst, an eternal reminder of the price of greed.
08:46So you think this warrior king is what you saw rise from the sea?
08:49Absolutely.
08:51Nice try.
08:52Come on, let's get that scroll back to your camp.
08:55Why?
08:56What?
08:56You don't want to show everybody the huge, important evidence that the children found?
09:08What the?
09:09Mom.
09:10Mom!
09:11Father!
09:13Mom, what?
09:14Are you okay?
09:15Can you hear me?
09:25Biscuit, careful!
09:29That one just moved.
09:30Are you all right?
09:32Can you speak?
09:33Zack, no!
09:34The Sockman!
09:36I thirst, I burn, I am eternal.
09:46And I don't care.
09:48Whatever you did to these people, you are going to fix it, right?
09:53I drink, but still I burn.
10:01Only the seab will satisfy.
10:06Where is the Methuselah tree?
10:10Maybe you didn't hear me the first time, but you've still got people to fix or else...
10:19Where is the birth?
10:24Whoa, did that just...
10:32Hey, nice teamwork!
10:35Hey, boy?
10:40Eternal!
10:41Now making sense.
10:55Komodo, look!
10:57Ow!
10:58You!
11:00The river!
11:02I know where it is!
11:04Wadi, no!
11:04I cannot tell you its location.
11:08But I will make you a trade.
11:10If you let us go free, we will journey to the Mother River and bring the sap of the Methuselah
11:16tree to you.
11:17You will return.
11:22You can undo what you have done to our families?
11:25Oh, yes!
11:29And how could we not?
11:32Come on, we'll take the DRV!
11:35Mom has the keys!
11:37Do they look like this?
11:39How do you...
11:40Never mind.
11:42The river does need to remain secret.
11:48I should have stolen one of these years ago.
11:55Take it easy for a second.
11:57I've got to make a call.
11:59Oh, and there's probably going to be yelling.
12:02What?
12:03You couldn't have given us this information sooner?
12:06Zack, this is exactly the sort of recklessness your mother and I are trying to correct.
12:10Just stop and stay there.
12:11I can fly to you in less than...
12:13Dad, would you listen to me?
12:14Yes, I'm sorry I didn't call right away.
12:17Eyes on the road!
12:18But this isn't me being reckless.
12:21I don't know how much time we have and we're the ones who are here.
12:24Zack, if you're trying to prove some point...
12:26Look, I don't care about proving points.
12:30Waddy, seriously!
12:31Mom, Komodo, and a whole lot of other people are in serious trouble.
12:34I just need you to trust me and help me.
12:37What do you need?
12:39Everybody in that room, actually.
12:41Ow!
12:41We have arrived at the entrance.
12:44Ugh, you park like you drive.
12:49This entrance wouldn't happen to have a door.
12:52Of course.
12:53It is opened by an ancient song.
12:56Okay, let's hear it.
12:58My people don't teach the song to children.
13:01What do you mean they don't?
13:02How do you expect?
13:03Did you think it would just come to you?
13:05You said the secret scientist would help us.
13:08You made very big promises.
13:10Hey, spiky locks.
13:13If you're done with lovey-kissy time, maybe I can tell you about the musical module imprinted on that rock.
13:20It's a pattern similar to the Verdanian scale.
13:23I can get the notes, but I ain't singing.
13:25I can get the notes.
13:29Who's...
13:33Who's...
13:38Who's...
13:44Who's...
13:46Who's...
13:48Who's...
13:49Who's...
13:55So I know stalactites grow down and stalagmites grow up, but what are they called when they grow sideways?
14:02A gravity-defined stalagonal matrix? Oh, I've heard it theorized, but I never thought I'd actually see one.
14:09Zach, how strong is the current?
14:11It seems to be not too bad.
14:21Okay, you park way worse than you drive.
14:25It looks like the rocks have differing mineral compositions. Not all of them are stable.
14:30Can you find a safe path through the matrix?
14:32From titanite? I think so.
14:34Then get my son whatever he needs.
14:54Zach, we seem to have a salt trail.
14:57I know. He's been with us for a while now.
15:00You knew? Why didn't you?
15:02Shh! We can't risk a fight down here.
15:05If he touched the river, even accidentally, that crackly salt thing he does would spread to all the water on
15:10Earth.
15:10We've just got to get to the Methuselah tree and hope the sap works for him.
15:14Zach, what are you two whispering about?
15:17Is something...
15:18Huh?
15:30Fisk, let go! It's too dangerous!
15:39Zach, what's happening?
15:41What are you doing here? We had a deal.
15:44I need the sap! I care for nothing else!
16:06No! It's the Mother River!
16:08Where are they?
16:09Do you see any of them?
16:10Zach, what's happening?
16:16Zach!
16:17Zach!
16:27Come on!
16:54It's beautiful.
17:00It's in trouble.
17:03Quick, we have to try to damn it up.
17:21What the? We didn't just do that.
17:23No, it was the tree of protectors.
17:26And if they know we're here, we are all doomed.
17:47It's as bad as we thought.
17:49What was I thinking?
17:51Sending three children alone?
17:53If I'd done things my way to begin with...
17:56I see a salt trail.
17:58I may still be able to find...
18:00Huh?
18:04You?
18:06You destroyed my family!
18:07Your family kept me from the Methuselah tree!
18:14For that, you will all burn as I burn!
18:34Did anybody have an idea here?
18:37You mean other than never making you mad?
18:40You've proven the salt bombs can be broken.
18:42There must be a chemical equation to keep them that way.
18:48There is nothing you can do to stop me!
19:06I am eternal!
19:13Nobody lives forever.
19:25We can still have a deal here!
19:32Zab!
19:36No!
19:37No!
19:38No!
19:39No!
19:40No!
19:41No!
19:42No!
19:42No!
19:43No!
19:43No!
19:43No!
19:44No!
19:46Look at your mother's salt shell. The sap breaks the bond. If you have more, we may be able to
19:53free everyone.
19:54But there is no more. It was all in that flask.
19:59Wadi! Ah! What did you...
20:02Nothing. I did not. Control the protectors again, please.
20:07I'm trying, but they're going nuts about something. What... What did you take, Wadi?
20:13It was so beautiful. I had to have it.
20:26Wadi, you need to give it up now. Recreate it, Eterno, and it'll ruin you too.
20:33Please, I am sorry. Forgive me.
20:39Zach! No!
20:40I'm not a thief, and I don't care about your tree. But this flower is going to save people's lives.
20:46And you're not taking it back until it does.
20:53Mine!
20:55No!
20:58Now, in this place!
21:04No! Wait!
21:10There's no man left beneath the salt.
21:13I'll have Dr. Pachakutek analyze the sap. If we can synthesize it, we should be able to reverse everything he
21:18did.
21:19Yeah. Almost everything.
21:24That's the last of them. And the other scientists are already rehydrating the affected waters.
21:30I can't believe you flew all the way out here and fought a salt guy just because I dropped a
21:35video phone.
21:36So tell me again how I'm the reckless one.
21:40I guess it just runs in the family. But we're stronger with you. If you're ready to come back from
21:45the audience.
21:46All right!
21:48And I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever steal anything again that doesn't deserve to be stolen.
21:57Nothing deserves to be stolen.
21:59But what if someone else stole it first and I steal it back for the proper owner? I would be
22:04a hero.
22:07Goodbye, Zack, Saturday.
22:10Yeah, I'll, uh, see you around.
22:14Huh?
22:16Hey!
22:18Hey!
22:36Hey!
22:42Hey!
22:43Hey!
22:44Hey!
22:45Hey!
22:45Hey!
22:46Hey!
22:48Hey!
22:49Hey!
22:50Hey!
22:51Hey!
22:51Hey!
22:54You
