00:00strong our union makes us strong for our union makes us
00:09strong
00:23so you are tying our hands behind our backs
00:27we were planning we were planning and it was well known to the government if they
00:33did not address health care workers in this media budget review we were already
00:38going to head to the parliament to the seat of democracy and ironically the
00:44very seat has blocked us from coming to them the very seat of democracy
01:05if we look at the 15 identified zones as comrade ash would have indicated earlier
01:13and you are to do a 500 meter separation from each zone
01:20it means that portorspin is on no protest no demonstration no picket zone
01:27and we are saying as trade unionists protests march demonstration peaceful picket
01:34all these actions which are peaceful are acts that are normally done as part of our tool and trade
01:53we are in a state of emergency so trade unions have to be very careful we in very
01:59peculiar times we in times where if it is that you say something that offends a leader
02:04you could find yourself the next day behind bars you know you ain't getting an opportunity to answer
02:10any questions your family crying snap in the nose all kind of thing but the reality is this
02:15you have to do what you have to do you know why we have to do it just preserve democracy
02:20in trinidad and tobago
02:34and this is a clear message to the government of the day we didn't vote for this citizens didn't vote
02:40for this
02:41trade unions we don't deserve this dissent is not disloyalty constructive criticism is not criminality
02:50accountability and accountability is not above the rule of law democracy is not organized or is
02:59not negotiated this is ours and this is our right and what we are saying as the progressive trade union
03:06movement to the government a word to the wise is sufficient thank you
