00:01Morning, I'm here this morning out of the noise here with Russell Hurd at the
00:05anti-mining protest being held here in Horsham. Russell, pretty good turnout
00:10given the busy time of year. How many are estimated here? Probably 150 Gregor I'd say.
00:16Yeah, magnificent. And can you tell us a little bit about why you've gathered and
00:20why you've chosen out in front of the Horsham Town Hall for the protest?
00:23So today the Dunlap All Land Protection Group and Mine Free Wimera Farms have decided to protest about
00:30Regional Development Victoria's setting up of this independent capability network where they've
00:36invited businesses to come to this forum to promote the business of mining. And obviously we're all
00:44about agriculture and we're pretty concerned that the Victorian state government's acting in pretty
00:49much an authoritarian manner like an African dictatorship and is not showing farmers any
00:56respect through any environmental effects process. So that's...
01:00So you're a little bit disappointed with the process of these meetings in terms of who was
01:04invited and who wasn't?
01:05Yeah, correct. And there was quite a number of our people enrolled and wanted a ticket to
01:11go and they were accepted early on and then they were contacted at the last minute and said
01:17that they were... that it was oversubscribed and they couldn't get access.
01:21Yeah, no, interesting times. But anyway, we're here, we've got a little bit of music to come,
01:25a few speeches, so...
01:26Yeah.
01:26And I think we've got the right to protest and demonstrate to this state government that what
01:31they're doing is an impost on agriculture in this state and the processes that are in place now
01:38and legislated don't represent the agricultural community or the community in general very well.
01:45No worries. Thanks a lot for that, Russell.
01:46Thank you, Gregor.
01:48Thank you, Mr. Wayne.
01:50Youỏiain Alりha.
