00:00China has condemned Czech Senate President Milos Vistachil's visit to Taiwan this week,
00:06calling for immediate measures to limit the impact of the trip.
00:09In a statement, Beijing's embassy in the Czech Republic said it firmly opposed any form of official exchanges
00:15between Taiwan and countries that maintain diplomatic relations with China.
00:22The embassy said the visit constituted interference in China's internal affairs
00:27and undermined its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
00:31Vistachil arrived in Taiwan on Monday and is expected to meet leader Lai Ching-te
00:35and other senior officials before concluding his visit on Thursday.
00:39The trip marks his second visit to the island,
00:42following a high-profile visit in 2020 that drew sharp criticism from Beijing.
00:48This time he is leading a delegation of around 40 representatives from the Czech business,
00:53academic and cultural sectors.
00:55While the Czech Republic formally recognizes Beijing,
00:58it has expanded unofficial ties with Taiwan in recent years,
01:02a trend that has repeatedly triggered diplomatic tensions with China.
01:06Beijing views Taiwan as part of its territory
01:09and has not ruled out the use of force to bring the island under its control.
