00:00I've been leading the NRL for six years. This is my seventh season and I spent 13 years working in
00:05rugby league.
00:06I love the sport, it's part of my DNA. It made myself and my family become and feel Australian.
00:11This is an opportunity for me to now take on a new challenge in a new sport with exciting opportunities
00:17ahead.
00:18I can't wait to get started. I start officially on the 3rd of August.
00:22Until then I'll be hard at work working for the NRL and making sure that I do my bit in
00:28leading the game
00:29better than when I found it and I'm excited to conclude my duties on the 15th of July
00:36hopefully with a number of elements concluded and then look forward to a new chapter for me
00:41here in Melbourne leading tennis Australia.
00:44I've seen Andrew as a significant leadership talent in Australia and it's fantastic to have
00:51which you could argue that the success of the NRL under his stewardship and under his leadership
00:58has been phenomenal and to have him come over to the sport of tennis where it has interfaced globally
01:05is not only a great opportunity for Andrew but a great opportunity for tennis
01:08and I think he'll bring a different lens, one of the different set of experiences to lead the role
01:13and I couldn't be prouder of what we've left Andrew to lead but also for the fact that he's going
01:18to take it to another level I'm 100% confident.
