00:04on sale this week 726 1986 toyota celica supra i haven't seen one actually for years i didn't
00:14actually know what we're coming from here oh celica toyota celica supra long bonnet low roof
00:22flared arches it's the japanese e-type in it 508 is the big mercedes fire engine there you are
00:31i thought it must be worth this sort of money mustn't it i saw some photographs of it legs
00:37were out and that boom thing there was 75 foot in the air or something i don't know it was
00:41right up
00:41there and i thought that's interesting isn't it and all good yeah came arrived started and that's
00:49when it all went wrong really the aston martin the db6 the mark ii the rarest one out the lot
00:55as we
00:55know it's the right color the right spec the right year the right model everything's dead right about
01:00it ready in many less driven a db6 at 17 is it yeah look something else don't they nice car
01:12yeah she's all right the matthewsons a dynasty of classic car auctioneers 55 the joys of an option
01:24most people will go to us out with something in mind but come away with something different
01:29the fun is the chase we'll have a look and we'll advise you from there you just don't know what's
01:33on the end of the phone what are you gonna find when you open them doors this is a family's
01:37love
01:37affair with motors that have lived a life testing testing most people will buy a car because they
01:44can relate to it maybe a car that dad had you're selling dreams right here we go
02:03another week begins with a larger than usual arrival it's red noisy and stands out a mile
02:11oh what's coming in now i don't know i don't know anything about large delivery
02:16i don't know what's coming or what's going out does it blow water about everywhere does it
02:22all right well it's probably a fire engine i don't know anything about a fire engine
02:26oh the firemen coming in
02:35it's cool though isn't it if you wanted i'm like look at that it's mega isn't it but
02:39where are we gonna put it the engine came here from a private collector in ireland
02:44who also needed some space it's not got any blues and twos or anything you know it's just passing you
02:51through i think you'd think surely that'd still be used to him in some way shape or form wouldn't
02:56you like why would you bring it out of service i know what you mean it's not old enough is
03:01it not
03:01really pensioned off oh funny i'd be uniform oh big cab like in it they are aren't they
03:13there's gonna be like five or six hundred grand there you reckon as much as that
03:17and then now it's worth 10p innit
03:22oh we're off but we're off oh that was lovely wasn't it
03:29oh here we are look you see um yeah well these do them bits and that and that does that
03:37hose thing
03:40it should be clear by now that paul never made the grade as a fireman
03:45hey hey you like that don't you look at that it's a big leg innit
03:54you don't want to go down you don't want to go in either
03:58do they have to go oh never oh yeah you'll have to go right out with it do you um
04:03suppose
04:05i'm hoping this is the moment when you realize that doing the okey cokey with a fire engine
04:11is the wrong idea so our current situation is we've got a right leg out unable to retract
04:18basically yeah luckily uh he did it and not me so
04:32like the proverbial well-oiled machine the classic car commandos operate with precision
04:38and the very best intelligence
04:41i don't know what i'm going for um i don't know who i'm meeting don't know where i'm going so
04:46it's
04:46the usual last minute thing oh i love it yeah it makes it all all part of the fun doesn't
04:52it when
04:52you don't know who you're gonna meet what you're gonna go for so no we'll soon find out all being
04:56well charlie's coming down with me and uh yeah so he can give me an like so no it's good
05:01charlie's
05:01on board now taking a load of pressure off so yeah no i'm done i ain't got a clue what
05:05i'm going for
05:06i'm just gonna um yeah just arrive really see what happens i got a winch got a trailer got charlie
05:12what more do you need that's it we'll be all right
05:24i love driving it and knowing that you wouldn't see another one you might get passed by he type
05:31jacks and aston martins but you weren't going to get passed by a toyota selica andrew longmuir has
05:38had his for more than 30 years but it's not your common or garden selica it's the toyota selica supra
05:46it's got a 2.8 twin cam electronic ignition in it nice cruising car for someone my age it's quite
05:53a
05:53firm ride so time to let it go the reason i partly that i kept it for so many years
06:05was that i was
06:06going to give it to my son but uh he got married and had a child and uh sort of
06:14the thought of being
06:16responsible for the car putting it back on the road has waned a bit it was one of the delights
06:23of
06:23owning it was driving it round and people not realizing what it is because i don't think many
06:29people will see them toyota's answer to datsun's old conquering 280z was a stretched out version of
06:40the selica powered by a straight six cylinder engine they gave it a new badge and the selica supra was
06:47born the first gen looked the part even if the performance lacked a bit of punch still rear wheel
06:54drive and fuel injection made it a fun if not exactly earth-shattering ride 1982 saw the arrival
07:01of a totally remodeled 2.8 liter version complete with an eight-band graphic equalizer that made your
07:07spandau body tapes sound like tony hadley was in the passenger seat the new supers first arrived in
07:14strictly limited numbers and like big hair and shoulder pads not many survived the 80s it's reckoned
07:21there are fewer than 10 left in the country today right inside it's a bit dusty it's got air conditioning
07:37cruise control it's a five-speed manual box which is a bit unusual as well most of them are automatics
07:45it's obviously got a limited slip diff the handling of it is enjoyable
07:53there's never been any question about my love for the car but now to see it ending up like this
08:01i need to get something done about it it would be nice if it went for
08:08well anything more than three and a half thousand
08:23it's classic car wash day and proving he's as much a dab hand with a chamois leather as a gavel
08:29is the washer upper in chief what a lovely car lovely car lovely color absolutely bangle
08:40how many cars i've washed and cleaned if i've washed 10 000 must be must that must have washed 10
08:46000
08:47or something or more and probably cleaned half of that and more i don't know really
08:55wouldn't really bother me if i didn't wash any more you know really
09:01i suppose basically i'll wash and clean probably 20 25 a week for 50 years or something how many is
09:12that
09:12it's quite a lot isn't it
09:35it is simply one of the most beautiful shapes ever crafted i mean it's kind of mozart in 3d isn't
09:43it
09:43really waxing lyrical about this aston martin db6 his owner and full-on aston enthusiast aiden murkert
09:53this particular example is a db6 mark ii only 170 or something like that mark twos were made for the
10:03uk market
10:05this car is an extraordinary example because it is an unrestored example but when you look at it you
10:12would never know it is absolutely beautiful if you come and take a peek inside
10:18the interior well i just think is magical i truly do right there we go i mean driving down the
10:28road
10:28a beautiful sound isn't it oh absolutely you can't beat it absolutely and the extraordinary thing is
10:33because this is an unrestored example i'm actually not scared to use it i prefer not to be out in
10:40the
10:40rain but if it rains it rains but here we go look at that one fat lump this is unrestored
10:48yes people i
10:50suppose care enough for these things to make sure that they will survive in fabulous condition and you've
10:57been very very proud to own it yeah absolutely it would be a lie to say i don't feel good
11:03driving up the
11:04road in it because i do feel good every time i go out i'm driving a victory lap
11:13and the sound have you listened to a car going past
11:22the db6 is the jewel in aiden's collection but he's also partial to the odd ng
11:31they're pretty they really are they are so so lovely and they're very affordable very manageable
11:37if you're looking for cheap uh classic car this is the one to buy this is not like a modern
11:43car it's
11:44not an ipad with a wheel at each corner you know this is what i like to call an analog
11:48car
11:50whenever i go out in this one and we do go out in them whenever i go out on this
11:55i feel i'm in a miss
11:56marple film this is a sleek neat car there's no door handles on the mga we athletically get in by
12:06no you've got a string that you have to pull on the inside although the problem with that is if
12:13it's
12:13raining and the windows up and the roof is on it's a bit of a challenge to actually open the
12:18doors
12:22aiden's already got plans for the cash from the sale he's giving it all to the charitable causes
12:27he supports we can invest heavily in educational projects we run a school in india which is a
12:34charitable school we also have a big interest in a new school in birmingham and as i was looking at
12:40this i thought it's a beautiful car but it's a thing and i'm turning this thing and indeed some of
12:46the
12:46other things here we are going to be turning that into people change lives i don't just want somebody
12:53to stick it in a museum how much better is it to actually experience the past by driving it yeah
13:00you could stick it in a garage disconnect the battery and say i'll come back in 15 years
13:06but where's the fun in there now this is a car i'm hoping somebody will
13:10love it for what it is and use it because of what it is
13:20few british marks inspire such affection as a vintage sunbeam well built reliable and fun to drive
13:28the roots manufactured talbots rapiers and alpines have always done well at the pickering auctions
13:35lot number 482 sunbeam talbot 90 100 genuine car third and last time provisionally
13:43lot number 32 is the sunbeam rapier hammer coming down at 67
13:49sunbeam alpine very very solid looking car third and last time 5100 there you go well done 5-1
14:00there are a couple of alpines coming up in the next auction one a full-on restoration job the other
14:06finished to perfection do you know what every now and then an item turns up doesn't it and you think
14:14oh i like that i like that that's that item for me in this auction that's my car
14:23i've got a thing about wheels see i like nice wheels and it sits up nice very often they're a
14:28bit tired a bit saggy you know you open the door they drop a bit this one doesn't it just
14:33opens closes
14:34nice all right gap's not perfect it's not perfect on the body but it just i don't know it just
14:40draws
14:40me in for some reason and i could quite happily run about next summer in that car brilliant absolutely
14:46great yeah yeah so i like that car the pros of buying one that somebody else has restored you're
14:52not too sure what's under that glossy green are we but you can drive it if you want one your
14:58spec if
14:59you want to know what's underneath it everything else then you restore one don't you and how much
15:04would you be looking for this one i haven't seen any figures to be fair but i would have thought
15:08that's going to be like seven or eight grand i would have thought as opposed to probably two or
15:12three grand over there here we go look wanting
15:21bit of love but look further than first impressions it's not as bad as it may seem
15:29not for a sunbeam it's not rotten like a sunbeam very often it is all right free there you go
15:36engine's
15:37free so that's a bonus in it and the actual car itself back arches are rotten a couple of bits
15:43down here bits and pieces but a lot of it is not bad not bad once the door bottom look
15:50splicing in
15:51once a wheel arch rear quarter bottom look boot lid looks good got a boot floor look i mean when
15:59you
15:59see the car from over the other end of the shed to then come over and see a boot floor
16:03in it that's good
16:05so anyway you've got choice haven't you if your budget stretches to restore one and make it beautiful
16:11crack on if it doesn't buy one like that that's nice and user-friendly and off you go
16:19648 64 sunbeam alpine there she is been parked up for a little while as you can well see but
16:26what
16:26potential that's got can't go wrong with it two thousand pound two thousand pound north yorkshire two
16:31thousand pound two thousand pound absolutely for nothing maiden bid never heard anything like it
16:36before two thousand pound gonna go two thousand pound for the first second third last time two thousand pound
16:47more than a few weekends work there but the new owner has got the restoration well underway
16:57228 is the 66 sunbeam alpine here we go we're away six thousand six two six four six six six
17:05eight seven
17:06seven thousand i've got good value seven thousand pounds it's very good value of seven charlie's phone
17:13gonna be sold cheap sports car these seven thousand for the first second third and last time charlie's bid
17:20seven thousand down to you at seven well done they make a nice change for an mgb there everywhere
17:27aren't they they're great aren't they brilliant we all love mgbs you go in the show field and there's
17:3220 mgbs and there's three of them yeah for me they're just they just just look a bit fancier really
17:38just look
17:48a bit fancier jack and charlie have traveled almost the full length of the m62 to chester maria maria all
17:56right
17:56then and they still don't know what for i didn't actually know what we're coming for back here arselika
18:04yeah yeah you didn't tell me that bit jake did you oh wow toyota salika super
18:15blimey how long has it been in here about five years in this particular garage don't see many
18:20salika supras about though do you i think there was only six left in the country that's probably why then
18:26yeah i bet it was a fair car back in its day see off most bmws i bet it would
18:33yeah i think it's
18:34quite futuristic for its time don't you i think with it being 2.8 manual i think it would have
18:41been
18:41a bit like a spaceship won't it really yeah i mean good fun still will be today when have you
18:46last had it running it's about six years i think since also it shouldn't take many minutes then i'd like
18:51to think to to get it going and i'll tell you what just with a wash off and a massive
18:55coat of polish
18:56it would change it all all together wouldn't it arches and things are all very solid they're very good
19:02feels good lovely other two well that's handy at least they're all holding out so far one more to go
19:09i didn't know whether to expect a uh uh supra i.e you know that the the supra the the
19:17proper one
19:18or a or a like a 2002 sleeker i didn't know what to expect and then you open the door
19:23to that and
19:23think oh that's lovely isn't it getting out the way handles at this end lad i know there we go
19:38all right that side andrew yeah oh there you go mr muscles over here keep me going
19:45well she's got a stiff spot that's why that's heavy there we go get truck moved up
19:58that's about easy enough didn't it
20:10precision that
20:14straight
20:18my aim was originally to get it up to the isle of aaron and drive it on the isle of
20:24aaron but
20:26someone else can do that
20:36what did you buy it for back in the day i paid the guy two thousand pounds for it
20:41well i think we'll be in profit good good good well we'll see what it makes we'll be on our
20:45way then
20:46all right thank you very much
21:02what do you want this big down here
21:16it's easy to do it this way make more noise
21:35make it from pickering high street
21:50the artists of the pickering memorabilia team have worked their magic once again and demand for the
21:57signs and symbols is brisk number 603 is the alpha dealer sign here with the alpha dealer sign we've
22:03got
22:04at 520 pounds be warned
22:08four nine five is the uh honda the big honda sign there you are look at that got we all
22:14done and
22:14dusted at 120 pounds sold six four three porsche martini racing sign 25 pound and are we there at 225
22:24at 225 then hammers coming down and we all done and dusted at 225
22:29fought to keep michael happy because he wants it in his shed
22:38do you know when something appears to be a good idea on paper
22:42and then reality kicks in when dave agreed to sell it he hadn't reckoned on reality kicking in quite so
22:50hard
22:51i saw some photographs of it legs were out and that boom thing there was 75 foot in the air
22:57or something
22:57i don't know it was right up there and i thought that's interesting isn't it surely there must be
23:03somebody who wants to give 20 grand for a machine that probably costs 300 000 and all good yeah came
23:10arrived started and that's when it all went wrong really we can't get that leg out or back in or
23:19anything
23:19that's that just seems to want to stay there but yeah we've been in here uh and we've had all
23:25this
23:26apart and we've checked things and we've swapped things and we've pulled things and we've poked things
23:31and most things work it's just the bits that we want to work don't there you are see if he
23:38wants one
23:40there you go he might be rushing to go and buy one but yeah what else can you do with
23:48it it is
23:49just very specialist that's the trouble it's not the sort of fire engine you can park outside the
23:54house is it at home not really is it you know and think that oh no one will notice
24:00they will yeah this time i might have bitten off more than i can chew maybe
24:10508 is the big mercedes fire engine there you are again my fault it's here i just thought for the
24:16money when you compare them to the fact they're about 500 000 new and i thought it must be worth
24:22this sort of money mustn't it there you go anyone want to jump in at 15 000 i'll bring it
24:26down to 15
24:28if you need one and you've got to have one to meet some regs there you go 15 000 pound
24:32if not we'll
24:33have to move on i just thought it looked absolutely for nothing
24:42no bids no budding fireman sam's unless paul can get the leg in no going back to the vendor either
24:50yeah go on that computer system there is registering a fault somewhere
24:56we can't move anything so the only way we can get it in is to take the pipes off from
25:01the ram
25:03um and override it and push it back in
25:07yeah go on keep going a little bit
25:11whoop
25:22oh i know it looks better on there than it ever did part there
25:24i just said oh it looks much nicer on there
25:37derek's been grinding out the motorway miles for hours destination
25:43bromsgrove sorry it's been late oh traffic's a red where aiden mercant's db6 is waiting to take
25:51its place on the trailer nice isn't it it isn't it hmm yeah nice car lovely color it's beautiful
26:00isn't it was it originally that color yes yes it was i actually had the bloke come and look at
26:06this
26:06and he said i'd strip this back and repaint it no i thought you're an idiot yeah yeah totally
26:11idiots yeah yeah no it's better than mine cosmetically better than mine
26:16has it been abroad it has you've got it in one
26:19i think it's italy that wants those things isn't it the indicator on the side and i think italy is
26:25the only country that require it so that's a slight adaption hang on sorry derek you've turned up
26:33you've drunk the tea you've eaten the biscuits you're having a doughnut
26:36worry about the car
26:47come up
26:52yeah steady away that'll do you there perfect safest place for it up here
27:02righto mate you're safe there now we'll not go anywhere
27:06right i'll pop these away put my ramps away and we're nearly there then are you having db6 envy
27:13oh yeah yeah envy yeah we always do don't you really i mean always envy anyone a that's got a
27:20db6 and
27:20b someone's just driving it i never get time to drive mine do i sit there all the bloody time
27:35auction week always brings the browsers out and with it the memories i took jane out for our first
27:41date in this a triumph dolomite 1850 hl it was a travel might it looked all over my leather boots
27:49well you're still talking yeah it's 42 years late
27:59the bmw 318 that was my first car about four thousand pound in 1989 i was nursing at the time
28:05going to work in it and we used to go out
28:08oh you must have been a flash nurse yeah driving around it four thousand pounds a lot of money then
28:16my old one i used to not drive it for weeks and i'd go in the garage and get in
28:20and turn the ignition
28:21on see the digital dash lights open turn the key and it just boom into life that dull hum of
28:26a straight
28:27six it was beautiful give you goosebumps honestly no they're good when i got rid of mine i kind of
28:33missed
28:33it when this popped up for sale i thought oh i couldn't have a look might have a little bed
28:38we'll
28:38see see what happens on the day silica supras in any condition turn up once in a blue moon
28:45so when they do everybody wants a look although this one wants a little bit of love
28:54it's actually kept really well a you've got every increase in value and b you've got a really really
29:03practical and usable car haven't you everything's moving on a generation or two isn't it the 30s have
29:11had it finished the 50s even they're dwindling a little bit now aren't they 50s and now we're moving
29:18into 60s still okay 70s 80s here is 80s hot hatch good fun aren't they they're still good fun they
29:30still drive like a relatively modern car don't they let's be honest so yeah japanese six cylinder
29:36on top of the job maybe the only thing they should have done was a little bit more anti-corrosion
29:42should we say yeah that's maybe their downfall maybe their downfall but that aside fabulous
29:50engine fabulous over-engineered you can hardly wear them out can you absolutely great
29:57it's still a good-looking car even now you know it's old but it's still a good-looking trendy car
30:05in it you know it's it's e-type in it you know e-types iconic fabulous i love a v12
30:12e-type
30:16long bonnet low roof flared arches it's the japanese e-type in it
30:28726 1986 toyota celica supra now someone picked this up didn't they did you pick it up charlie yeah
30:35it should run it had an engine rebuild not many thousand mile ago right uh but yeah it'll make a
30:40where we are then where are we on sailing going down six five six thousand five six six six six
30:45thousand six hundred six eight six nine do you want seven day seven thousand seven one seven thousand
30:51one seven one telephone in the end seven one seven three four seven four five six seven six seven nine
31:00do you want eight eight eight one county tyrone eight one eight thousand three eight four eight five
31:07eight thousand five eight six eight seven eight seven eight eight eight thousand eight hundred on its way
31:15nine thousand nine thousand pound nine thousand two three nine three rare car like you're saying it

31:39ten thousand for the second third and last time ten thousand rare warning gonna be sold there you go
31:47thank you gentlemen i think andrew would have been happy with like three and a half far ground somewhere
31:54there uh so he's gonna be over the moon with ten
32:19coming into land at the pickering hq the aston martin db6
32:24nice nice car huh yeah she's all right
32:35ready ready
32:38it's all right in weren't you
32:40yeah you're all right
32:56i see why there's such a follow-in-fo
33:13before everyone shouts james bond's car paul's got a message it was actually a db5 in the film
33:20but everyone thinks it's a six i like to see a bit of wear on a seat and things
33:26why is that well because if you haven't got a bit of wear on a seat you've got a new
33:29seat haven't you
33:29and then you haven't got an old aston have you you've got a new aston yeah various bills and
33:34invoices here look i'm going to take them all upstairs in a minute loads and loads of old mot's
33:38look coach works lovely wheels are lovely
33:43there we go look great inchy not overdone just
33:47nice four liter inline straight six lovely look at the steering wheel look it just says hold me doesn't it
33:56are we talking real craftsmanship or that not really we're talking thrown together if you think
34:01about it because they're built out of bits weren't they generally speaking i'm going to get well
34:06shot for that aren't i look at the switch for the interior light has got it's a switch off of
34:12something
34:13completely random and it doesn't fit so they put a bolt in to get your pin to come out and
34:20press
34:20your switch it is very agricultural very primitive but they work don't they let's be fair most people
34:26who own them are going to be jumping up and down aren't they and i'm really sorry for you guys
34:29for
34:30that but it is a fact of life they are largely made up of bits and pieces and they are
34:35one-offs aren't
34:36they most tom money oh vulgar vulgar i suspect it's gonna do somewhere my gut 165 175 so let's hope
34:49it
34:49goes off to pastures new kept like that and used also
35:00the aston martin the db6 the mark two the rarest one out the lot as we know it's the right
35:05color
35:06the right spec the right year the right model everything's dead right about it the proceeds
35:11are going to be used to support a charity so let's make a start 150 i've got 150 and 160
35:17160 170 170
35:19170 170 000 five he said 175 180 180 back with me 180 going then 180 000 pound is the

35:46all done then
35:46200 000 pounds for that money 200 000 don't come up like this every day jill's phone gonna submit it
35:54then
35:54200 200 000 get your hammer down derek stop messing about 200 000 for the first 200 000 for the
36:01second
36:01third and last time on jill's telephone 200 000 sold thank you well done bragg congratulations you've got
36:11yourself an afton he's happy he's very happy
36:19it's just the quintessential british aston martin sports car particularly the mark ii
36:26the shape of it has has always been something that's stood out for me as one of the most beautiful
36:31cars
36:33new owner greg michael was so happy he turned up the day after to collect
36:40it sit in your car thank you how about that that's amazing yes she's a beauty lovely isn't it it's
36:48fantastic it's the appearance and and the design and the look of them there's just nothing like them
36:53is that there's been a childhood dream it's been absolutely it's been 45 years waiting since i've been
36:58good luck to you good luck to you greg's got a long drive back home but what's the betting he
37:03enjoys every
37:10single mile north of the border in the fine city of glasgow it's not just the architecture that's a
37:16feast for the eyes we have 305 gt turbo there's only about three or four left in the uk and
37:24i've got one
37:24of them neil clark's been building up a collection of cars that tell a story of hot hatch speed
37:31the toyota gt4 it's a great car to drive it's phenomenal it really is and it does turn heads
37:36but there's two of them together is there two gt4s two of them yeah why not have four if they're
37:43good
37:44all of which brings us nicely to neil's latest acquisition the 1986 salika supra they came in
37:53to the country um you only could get 10 at a time they wouldn't allow any more in uh which
37:59was
37:59surprising and obviously they were they were expensive back then to have a car which was
38:03you know 145 brake horsepower was just unbelievable that was like you know it's a rocket we're running
38:08about in cars that 70 80 horsepower the design features on those cars i mean they went a lot
38:14of brother to get this car to look the way it is it cried out for me to buy it
38:18but a car that hadn't
38:19moved in a while had some issues that needed a bit of left field thinking to fix
38:26we put the tank out we looked inside and went oh oh dear the fuel goes off it looks like
38:31varnish
38:31inside it smells terrible and the tank looks like it's got a lot of corrosion in it we used to
38:37put
38:37litres and litres of vinegar gallons of the stuff inside it so you could put every material you can
38:42nuts and bolts screws bit of chain whatever you might be and you just put it inside it and you
38:48slush it about just till your arms are aching you do it the next day and then you leave it
38:52a couple of
38:52days and you look inside and it starts to look a lot better a lot cleaner and we just do
38:56it again
38:56and then eventually you treat it with bicarbonate soda to neutralize the situation with the vinegar
39:01so the supra has been keeping the mechanics busy and malcolm campbell has enjoyed the chance to work
39:07on the old stuff you have to to use your own brain you have to use your experience you look
39:14at the car
39:14you then make a decision on how you're going to fix that car and that's where the enjoyment comes
39:20it's not just someone a computer telling you how to repair it
39:27thank you malcolm job done brilliant thanks done sounds fantastic
39:36you don't see that much now inspection lamp of the cars
39:42double overhead cam slight tick off the uh the engine that hopefully will go away when we do an engine
39:48flush and we'll take it a run and there you go you'll have one lovely car
40:10nice exhaust nut
40:16sounds very healthy taking the sunbeam alpine for a spin through the glorious county durham
40:22countryside his new owner david dye i was actually looking for an alpine if i could find one one day
40:29i looked and i saw this one i put a bid in absolute rock bottom of the estimate and nobody
40:36else bid for it
40:38it's a lovely car really comfortable to drive
40:45the interior is lovely magnolia leather the dashboard clocks have all been done in the magnolia faces and
40:53nice walnut dashboard and so on it's it's really a nice car it's quite easy to get in and out
40:59which was
41:00one of the reasons i looked at in the first place i thought it would be easier than the mg
41:05on the mg i would have to put one leg in and i get hold of my foot and lift
41:09it in by hand with this one
41:14i can actually get in it and shut the door
41:19i'll lift the bonnet and see what's going on
41:24i'll put a new fuel pump on which is down here it's a bit awkward to get at but once
41:29you've done
41:30it a few times you can do it quite easily you get the wheel off and you can do it
41:33from underneath much
41:34easier than from the top but that's old cars you learn how to do it by doing it basically you
41:39know if
41:40you you can read the book all day but it doesn't help you to get the bolts undone sometimes
41:45you're very much a tight fix it don't buy it it's got all the total costs of everything on
41:57i don't tell you exactly to the penny how much i've spent on it can i guess later on sorry
42:01can i guess
42:02yeah living there for now good test of its pulling power up the hill here this is where it scores
42:16well
42:16over the mg goes over rough roads very smoothly i was in and out the gears really easily doesn't clung
42:31this is where it's fairly hard work very tight bends
42:40it's um very heavy steering with not having power steering on it it's all part of the character of
42:48the old cars total cost of parts not counting the hours and hours and hours of labor
42:57508 pounds and 68 pence
43:03i can't see it being a problem for a lot of years to come so it'll probably see me out
43:08as a classic car
43:10it's going to be a good all-around car i'm really pleased with with the buy
43:22so
