00:00The Horizon Festival has moved to Japan and everybody is having fun.
00:05These guys are having fun.
00:07These guys, they're having fun.
00:09This guy, he's loving it.
00:11What about you? Are you having fun?
00:13Are you? Are you having fun yet?
00:17Actually yes, I am.
00:19Forza Horizon 6 has its issues, not least of which is how keen all its vapid characters are to tell
00:25you what a great time they're having.
00:26But damn it if this series isn't still something special.
00:29It's slick, it's polished, it's consistently entertaining.
00:33It's also a continuation of what this series has been doing for over a decade now.
00:38Forza Horizon 6, like every game before it, is another big bombastic racing festival featuring mostly the same event icons
00:45but on a different map.
00:47It's a game of small marginal changes, sometimes meaningful but always subtle.
00:52If you have played any of the previous games, you inherently know how this one will feel.
00:56It's the same, only now it's in Japan.
00:59Fortunately, the setting makes for one of the better locations in the series history.
01:03It's less varied and dramatic than Forza Horizon 5's Mexico, but like Horizon 4's UK before it,
01:09an island nation with a rich automotive legacy is a great fit for what the series is trying to do.
01:15As always, the driving is peerless, arcade sensibility given just enough realism to trick you into thinking you were good
01:22at handling these vehicles.
01:24Even with limited assists, the cars, by and large, do what you want them to do.
01:28Play with the difficulty a bit, and the AI opponents put up an enjoyable challenge.
01:32While I'd love for the series to flex its creativity a bit more, that desire doesn't dampen my deep appreciation
01:38for what Forza Horizon 6 achieves.
