00:00India already, I think, does not have a lot of film schools. There are only a few film schools.
00:05I don't think there are any film schools in the Northeast, but we've seen a lot of great films and
00:10filmmakers coming from the Northeast now.
00:12What is your opinion on that, the lack of film schools in India?
00:15I would not have access to, say, Bombay industry, or for that matter, Bengali industry.
00:22So for a person like me who has had no knowledge about films,
00:25I think it is very important to go to a place like film school and educate yourself about cinema.
00:32Of late, I think, two years back, they have started a film school in Arunachal.
00:36It is also called Film and Television Institute.
00:38They have another government film school in Gawahati, Assam.
00:42But I think more is the merrier. I think it's better students get more opportunity,
00:47and it is such an expensive, you know, profession and training
00:53that if government then opens schools like that at a subsidized rate,
00:57I think everybody then can afford and dream to become a filmmaker.
01:01As one advice, someone sitting in a room somewhere thinking of becoming a filmmaker,
01:06what would you like to tell them?
01:07Don't.
01:14I think I've been just saying the same thing.
01:16I think if a girl like me from Sikkim who started from nothing, you know,
01:21I went to a film school and dreamt of making a film that would release in theatres,
01:25has a film now that is going to release in theatres very soon.
01:29If I can do it, I think everybody can do it. Perseverance is the key. Thank you.
01:34Long.
