00:0470% of adults in the European Union are now fully vaccinated.
00:09And that is more than 250 million people who are immunized.
00:14And this is a great achievement, which really shows what we can do when we work together.
00:21But the pandemic is not over, and we must remain vigilant.
00:25So first of all, we need many more Europeans to vaccinate rapidly.
00:29To avoid a new wave of infections and to stop the emergence of new variants.
00:35And I call on everyone who can to get vaccinated.
00:39This is the only way to protect yourself and the others.
00:44And secondly, we need to help the rest of the world vaccinate too.
00:49The European Union is already doing a lot.
00:52We are exporting and we are donating vaccines to our partners.
00:56And we are a lead contributor to COVAX.
01:00COVAX, this is our mechanism to secure vaccines for low- and middle-income countries.
01:07But more needs to be done.
01:09And we will continue to support our partners in this effort.
01:13Because we will only end this pandemic if we defeat it in every corner of the globe.
